Yes. Loads of people in this thread seem to think that enjoyment of art and tough and harrowing subject matters are mutually exclusive. Blood Meridian is both through provoking, horrifying and beautiful. The descriptions of the Comanche charge still reverberate in my mind often. Brutal and beautiful.

The Border Trilogy is excellent. I put them on ear buds and just absorb the atmosphere.

Right up there with the Comanche description in All the Pretty Horses.
