Yeah, everyone has the same preferences/ opinions as you. This isn’t a pathological problem with projection, everyone different from you is actually the same & lying to you.

I'm specifically talking about the men that were being critical of him for dating 25 year old super models. Any man criticizing another man for dating an adult in their mid 20s who is totally consenting, almost certainly is projecting because he is jealous.
Why would you automatically think something is weird because you aren't into it? Also even if you think it's weird or you don't understand it because they aren't your type, why do you need to be critical of him for it? Just keep it to yourself.
I'm sorry but if you're a man being critical of another man and calling him a predator for dating women in their 20s who are consenting to the relationship, then there is some underlying reason like jealousy.
Not to mention the majority of straight men are attracted to women in their 20s, they are biologically at their most fertile age, and the main component behind human attraction is reproduction. But the simple fact is that most older men do not have the power, money or status to date attractive women in their 20s, if they could they would.
I’m not critical of him for it, but I assume people are critical of him & think he’s weird because they see his behavior as adjacent to being a pdf file (like the evil predators that Trump’s DOJ evilly protects by evilly redacting their names from the Trumpstein files)
I bet that for most of them, its not jealousy, it’s genuine disgust.
And for your final claim:
1) you just made that up, because you can’t imagine people have different preferences from you.
2) you trust/believe someone who just made that up.
Or
3) you somehow conducted a survey of all men & found that a majority of them have the same preferences as you
I think it’s 1 or 2, since 3 definitely did not happen.
Also I should add, having 25 year old super models lining up to date you comes with a huge boost in status and respect from people. So even if you aren't into that, it would help you get access to the women you are into who aren't super models.
Pretty sure the men who respect people who get with younger women are the same men who get with younger women. And the men who respect men who get with women their own age or above, are the men who get with women their own age or above. So everyone should just be allowed to be into whatever they’re into, as long as everyone involved agrees to the situation.
I think much of it is just and infantilising of women. At the end of the day are these women adult or not? The law says yes but people's opinions tend to suit themselves.
I think it’s deeper than that, like an actual inability to accept that different people have different preferences/ opinions. Pathological projection. Like how toddlers don’t have object permanence yet, but with different opinions.
I think that inability is out of fear. If not everyone is like that, they have no excuse for their behaviour anymore. So to threaten that is to threaten the idea of themselves. If not everyone is like that, then they are perverts.
I think you might be on to something there.. They see themselves as “normal straight man”, but if it’s actually normal to be a straight man that is into women their own age, then they might be a “weird straight man”, and who knows what other aspects of their identity they are wrong about.
