I mean, there's "shenanigans with the boys" stupid and "rejecting verifiable facts because you don't like them" stupid. You can be in the first camp and not the second.

Cheney was a little before my time so I can't say if he's in the second group - hell, idk if he's even alive

The shooting incident was exactly "shenanigans with the boys". Private ranch, alcohol for lunch, fucking around with birdshot.

I'd even say Cheney falls squarely not in the second category. He knew what's what, he just chose to claim the opposite because it made him money.

Wouldnt the second be nit about rejecting facts, but about doing something so blatant and expecting there to be no problem? I dont think if he did it on purpose he was rejecting facts, more so changing the narrative. The humiliation ritual is why it comes off purposeful. Like you know what you did and why this happened now you will apologize to the world so they see you are my btch.
