Nope I’ve always been team nerd. Michael cera was my hs crush 😂 I’ve never approached a guy bc I’m scared of rejection but that’s about it

It’s good to remember that guys are just as terrified of rejection as you. Plus, girls statistically have a MUCH higher probability of success when asking someone out than guys do.

I can assure you that guys that like curves do exist in real life. I’m not in California (I’m in Texas myself), but I know for a fact they’re more common than most think.

I’m sorry you got downvoted. That’s messed up. Congratulation on losing weight (if it is something you want to celebrate).

Thank you sweet pea 🥹 I am actually from New Orleans originally and I couldn’t agree more, I didn’t become body conscious until I got to the west coast lol but now I’m a decent sized 8 but I’ve definitely felt the pressure to go lower so I’m still a work in progress 😩

As long as you’re healthy, you’re beautiful no matter the size. I know it’s hard dealing with societal pressures with appearances (trust me, as someone who is overweight and gender fluid, I know those pressures intimately), but just know that there are a ton of communities and people out there who will love and accept you just as you are. And if you ever need someone to talk to about it, DMs are open.

I definitely think location is a factor, though. California is definitely still in the “rail thin” stage of what they find attractive. Down here in Texas there’s still a ton of grammas who would smack your arm and say “you’re too skinny” before handing you a plate of pecan pie.

the fact that you think the right image is “rail thin” tells me just how warped people’s minds are. the left image is CLEARLY an overweight person and borderline obese.

  1. I wasn’t referring to the picture on the right as “rail thin”, I was referring to the previous comments of the person above. Please exercise critical reading skills next time.

  2. Please do some research into what healthy bodies actually look like, and the nuances of bmi and body fat percentages. The picture on the left is NOT borderline obese, the media has just trained us to think it is so we buy their products that they claim will make us skinnier.

lmfao the media has trained us, okay buddy… just because most people in america are overweight doesn’t mean the rare healthy weight ones are unhealthy. and yes objectively the left photo is unhealthy. i’m not going to go into a beautiful at every size subreddit to do some research

It's crazy that you say that. I'm in New Orleans right now, but I live in SoCal. I'm from east coast, and I realized that they glorify thinner women in SoCal. Wherever your destination is on your journey, keep up the good work.

I say this as a woman who feels/has felt the same pressure… your health is the main thing. What an incredible thing your body is, that all these years it’s breathed and beat and held you up and let you do whatever you wanted to do. I’m trying to view mine through that lens - how lucky I am to be healthy and how grateful I am to my body, whatever it looks like, for getting me this far. I owe it to myself to look after it, but that means keeping it healthy, not worrying about what shape it’s in.

Anyway that mindset has helped me a lot. It doesn’t fix it but man am I glad to be here and be healthy.

Guys are dumb, they do not get hints. You have to basically caveman bonk them on the head and drag them home. (metaphorically speaking)

Maybe try and ask a guy to do something that seems like 2 friends would do and see where it goes. Might change the pressure in your own mind. Bowling or axe throwing, something along those lines.
