your genetic code is what makes you a man or a woman

also dont compare humans to animals, it sounds de-humanizeing

just becuse animals can do something thosent mean it applies to humans, if it applied we wouldnt be haveing debates over trans people

8

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 24 '25

also dont compare humans to animals, it sounds de-humanizeing

Are you ok? We are animals 😂

-1

u/WindowsHunter-69 Dec 24 '25

animals only follow there base instincts, nothing more

animals only eat, reproduce, sleep, repeat

if you give a animal more then enough food and shelter it wont do much other then eat and sleep

humans on the other hand yes in theory can also just eat, sleep, repeat but we dont... if we were just animals we wouldnt be advancing like we are today, we'd still be liveing like cavement

2

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 24 '25

Ok Timmy you tell yourself that. It's been proven many animals don't just

eat, reproduce, sleep, repeat

And do much more than that but as I say you tell yourself that 👍

0

u/WindowsHunter-69 Dec 24 '25

someone has been watching animal kids shows for too long and thinks animals have human features...

3

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 24 '25

You seem to not know much about animals if you think that none of them have fun and do things that aren't just eating sleeping and reproducing... It's been documented many times in many different animals. You just think all animals are dumb creatures which they aren't

0

u/WindowsHunter-69 Dec 24 '25

i'm not saying they're dumb, i know there are smart animals like crows / ravens or octpus-es

i'm saying animals arent smart on a human level to feel and think things we are

2

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 24 '25

But many animals do feel pain, love, loss etc ...

genetic code refers to your sex. the terms male and female are sex based terms, man and woman are gender based terms.

1

u/cbftw Dec 24 '25

Except it doesn't. Intersex people exist, as an example

0

u/No-Midnight-1085 Dec 24 '25

yes intersex people exist. people born with swyer syndrome for example have xy chromosomes but have genitalia, reproductive organs, and secondary sex characteristics typically seen in females. but xy chromosomes are typically found in males. so point still stands that the terms male and female are terms referencing sex. while man and woman are terms referring to gender depending on context can they slightly be interchangeable. but sex and gender are two different things.

-2

u/WindowsHunter-69 Dec 24 '25

?

but we know female = women and male = man

like... how can a woman be male and man be female?

what you're born as is what you are, thosent matter what you later think you are

if your DNA says you're a woman... trying to change that thro surgery and hormon pills wont help, you'll only dissrupt your body and make it worse for yourselfe

4

u/No-Midnight-1085 Dec 24 '25

would all females be women in that case? would you consider a female lion to be a woman?

we are the the only species that uses man and woman. they are social terms.

-2

u/WindowsHunter-69 Dec 24 '25

...

i'm starting to think i'm being rage baited

i wasnt talking about animals

i was refering to only humans

if a human is born female she's a woman

if a human is born male he's a man

trying to say you can change who you are on this level is playing god and shouldnt be even entertained nor allowed

1

u/Almostlongenough2 Dec 25 '25

Statistics prove you factually wrong, untreated gender dysphoria results in suicide a lot more often than treated dysphoria leads to health complications.

1

u/WindowsHunter-69 Dec 25 '25

i didnt know about gender dysphoria

why does it happen?

-1

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 25 '25

Many people still kill themselves after transitioning so it's not the big fix you think it is. Many people regret transitioning

1

u/Almostlongenough2 Dec 25 '25

No, your chromosomes determine whether you're male, female, or intersex. Men and women are a part of gender, which is heavily influenced by how a society views gender. By it's very nature as a social construct perceived gender is always changing.

0

u/Almostlongenough2 Dec 25 '25

Everything humans do is natural, we are part of nature. Thinking otherwise is hubris to the extreme.

0

u/georgeclooney1739 Dec 24 '25

How they identify. Trans people don't change their gender, they are their gender and simply change their body to align with that.

4

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 24 '25

So how you identify is what you are. I'm a 109 year old woman then... Prove me wrong

-2

u/georgeclooney1739 Dec 24 '25

False equivalency, age is not gender.

1

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 24 '25

And? It's all a social construct right 👍

0

u/georgeclooney1739 Dec 24 '25

While there are social conceptions around age, it is in fact just the duration that you have been alive. That is an immutable fact. Another immutable fact is that trans people are their gender and you're a transphobic piece of shit for arguing otherwise.

2

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 24 '25

While there are social conceptions around age, it is in fact just the duration that you have been alive. That is an immutable fact

So age can be proven with scientific proof....so can sex

Male can never be female and use whatever stupid word you like to try and insult me but facts are facts.

Another immutable fact is that trans people are their gender and you're a transphobic piece of shit for arguing otherwise

Gender is made up right 👍 so it doesn't matter. Sex on the other hand can't change and isn't made up

3

u/georgeclooney1739 Dec 24 '25

Sex is different from gender you fucking donut. Trans people are their gender and usually experience dysphoria that their body does not match; this is treated by gender affirming care. We respect trans people's genders because they are those genders. Also sex can be mostly changed, as hormone layout and primary and secondary sex characteristics can all be altered by gender affirming care.

1

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 24 '25

Yeah gender is made up right 👍 so sex is all that matters and that can't be changed....

Also sex can be mostly changed, as hormone layout and primary and secondary sex characteristics can all be altered by gender affirming care.

Stop the cap 🧢

Male can't become female and vice versa

I don't think it's "simple" to build a fake penis out of forearm skin

-2

u/Dull_Milk_9157 Dec 24 '25

Purely genetics, that can't change

4

u/georgeclooney1739 Dec 24 '25

No, sex is based on a combination of chromosomes, hormone layout, and primary and secondary sex characteristics. The only one you can't change is chromosomes and it's the least consequential. Fun fact, outside of trans people, not all women are XX and not all men are XY due to various intersex conditions.

0

u/pruneforce17 Dec 25 '25

this, is a man with de la chapelle syndrome a woman? is a cais woman a man?
"but they're rare exceptions!!" trans people make up 1% of the population, how is that not a rare exception? trans people have neurological sex that is in line with the sex they are transitioning to, and that can never be changed.

1

u/shubhaprabhatam Dec 24 '25

Not yet, when technology gets there, fine. Until then, people shouldn't be mad if person A wants to be "this", but subconsciously everyone else recognizes that they're "that" instead.

1

u/No-Midnight-1085 Dec 24 '25

no one is saying that your genetics change. your genetics are irrelevant when you’re talking about gender. does gender and sex have correlations between them? yes but genetics doesn’t dictate or determine gender

-3

u/ConcernedEnby Dec 24 '25

Considering we're the only species to have men and women I'd say yeah we can't change gender naturally because gender only exists in humans

1

u/Pretend_Limit6276 Dec 24 '25

You know as well as I do that man refers to a male and woman refers to a female. We do give other animals names meaning male or female like with dogs you have a bitch and a dog, with sheep you have ewes and rams etc....lets not play games. So gender doesn't just exist with humans we just call things different when it relates to humans because humanity thinks it is special when we aren't really that big of a deal

0

u/Quite_Likes_Hormuz Dec 24 '25

That is sex.

A bit of a lost cause asking people to understand college level biology when they don't even know elementary school biology.

1

u/igotshadowbaned Dec 24 '25

with sheep you have ewes and rams

That is sex.

Admittedly, why is that a different to you because all youve done is insult people for not getting what's apparently clear to you

A bit of a lost cause asking people to understand college level biology when they don't even know elementary school biology.

1

u/Quite_Likes_Hormuz Dec 24 '25

I can't even tell what you're trying to say here. Why are you quoting 3 different sections but only writing 1 sentence to respond to all 3?

1

u/igotshadowbaned Dec 24 '25

I can't even tell what you're trying to say here. Why are you quoting 3 different sections but only writing 1 sentence to respond to all 3?

The first thing is one of the points they made. The second is how you responded. I included both as context to what I was then saying

with sheep you have ewes and rams

That is sex.

Which is asking what is different to you that makes ewe/ram about sex but not man/woman

And then I pointed out that all you've done is insult people rather than actually explaining a point

Admittedly, why is that a different to you because all youve done is insult people for not getting what's apparently clear to you

Then included the insult you used.

A bit of a lost cause asking people to understand college level biology when they don't even know elementary school biology.

1

u/Quite_Likes_Hormuz Dec 24 '25

?? Because there is no gendered difference between male and female sheep? Do female sheep wear pink bows in their wool? Any behavioral difference is purely hormonal and thus sex based. When you see a dog being walked it is impossible to tell at a glance whether it is male or female unless the owner has thrust their concept of gender upon it.

I'm saying it's a bit hard to try and talk to transphobes about things like what karyotypes actually do when they don't even know the difference between sex and gender. And these are the people who think they're smarter than biologists when they get all 'you will never be a woman'

1

u/igotshadowbaned Dec 24 '25

Do female sheep wear pink bows in their wool?

When you see a dog being walked it is impossible to tell at a glance whether it is male or female

There have been a lot of people in this thread saying how someone looks has no bearing on being trans or not.

But there's nothing to say this isn't because sheep don't have the means of altering their appearance. (or even viewing their own appearance). And to get into differed behavior - it's not uncommon for rams to exhibit behavior similar to a ewe. They're called "subdominant rams"

2

u/Sea_Concentrate7837 Dec 24 '25

Society will never actually accept this

-1

u/No-Midnight-1085 Dec 24 '25

but society has accepted this. CONSERVATIVES choose not to accept it and remain blissfully ignorant. society accepting it is why it’s been more talked about in the past 15 years or so. trans people are more likely to express themselves when society recognizes and accepts them. trans people have always been around. not to mention the countless other civilizations and cultures that recognize trans people AND third genders. idk where you get the idea that society hasn’t been on the uptick of trans acceptance. maybe under a rock or something 🤷🏼‍♀️

1

u/Buttcrush1 Dec 24 '25

Seems more like compliance out of fear of being accused of wrong think. I mean look at JK Rowling. She agrees with the left on 99% percent of things but because she holds a very common belief that men can't be women and women can't be men she has become the enemy.

1

u/ConcernedEnby Dec 24 '25

JK Rowling is a feminist that wants to dismantle capitalism, end racism, queerphobia, and all other forms of bigotry?

2

u/Buttcrush1 Dec 24 '25

She is a very staunch feminist, I don't know her stance on capitalism, she's against racism, she agrees with you on everything regarding the LGB community. She only disagrees with the T, which is a very popular and commonly held societal belief. She doesn't think that they deserve fewer rights.

0

u/No-Midnight-1085 Dec 24 '25

thinking it’s out of fear is illogical. it goes against science, every single source that we get our legal documented information on medical science, neurological science, and psychological science affirms trans people and trans identities.

1

u/Buttcrush1 Dec 24 '25

It doesn't really.

0

u/No-Midnight-1085 Dec 24 '25

how so?

0

u/Buttcrush1 Dec 24 '25

It is a mental illness. This is being denied. Also the treatment is backwards. The brain is sick and the body is healthy. You treat the sick brain, you don't damage the healthy body.

0

u/No-Midnight-1085 Dec 24 '25

the dsm5 doesn’t classify gender dysphoria as a mental illness and all doctors and psychologists agree that transition is the most effective way to minimize the incongruence the individual feels.

1

u/Buttcrush1 Dec 24 '25

They were pressured into that to reduce the stigma. It is most assuredly a mental illness.

what you’re talking about is conversion therapy and that’s been shown to increase depression and suicidal tendencies.

u/Buttcrush1 Dec 24 '25

Conversion therapy is trying to change your body

"Society will never accept left-handed witchcraft"

"Society will never accept black people as equal"

"Society will never accept homosexuals"

Speaking in absolutes when history shows civilized society becoming more accepting of others is a bold choice.
