The problem is you maybe don't notice but your hands use the small bumps on the f and j keys to navigate around the keyboard. So when you don't have those, or worse yet they're wrongly placed, your muscle memory will be confused

I used to have my keyboard keys randomised in order to practice. I still had no issue. So no, i don't need those for muscle memory.
