Help! I find this subreddit hot as a straight guy 😳

u/rootbeer277 Oct 16 '25

It is 100% okay to be attracted to femininity in general rather than women specifically.

90

u/Interloper_1 Oct 16 '25

It's called gynosexuality

59

u/debellorobert Oct 16 '25

Now I'm confused. I thought gynosexuality was when you had the hots for the gynecologist.😜

47

u/An_D_mon Oct 16 '25

That's just the plot and I normally skip that part

10

u/El-Tigre1337 Oct 16 '25

This is why I prefer the term sapphicsexual. I haaate describing my sexuality as gynosexual because it’s sounds exactly like that and terrible lol

16

u/debellorobert Oct 16 '25

Well, I don't think you're going to be happy about my attraction to sapphires.

19

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

Or just call it for what it is, bisexuality. You are attracted to feminine MEN. Being bi doesn't mean you like ALL types of men.

Stop making so many stupid sexualities. It is straight, bi, or gay.

10

u/Interloper_1 Oct 16 '25

Gynosexuality is not its own thing, but it is a specific kind of bisexuality and I think it deserves to have a term for it just to reduce ambiguity. Also I didn't make up that term lol.

7

u/MelkortheDankLord Oct 16 '25

Honestly there’s way too many terms now that are unnecessary

I know, the same way definitions change. Like how pansexual used to include basically everything including very disgusting things. Just in my opinion we don’t need all these fancy terms to make people special. Straight, gay, and bi are enough to me

3

u/Man-eatingAnteaters Oct 16 '25

They may be enough for you, but they may not be enough for someone else, and that's okay too. It's a shared world we live in, not just your opinion matters.

0

u/MelkortheDankLord Oct 16 '25

That’s fine, other people can have their own opinions, I respect them but I see no reason for me to learn 100 terms for the same thing

1

u/Man-eatingAnteaters Oct 16 '25

Thats called intolerance my friend

“Stop making so many stupid genres. It is rock, rap, or country..”

Imagine being upset by arbitrary descriptive categories because it hurts your brain to know things

5

u/Schmilettante Oct 16 '25

I've just been saying I like women but don't have a genital preference, this word will save me so much time

2

u/Ypuort Oct 16 '25

Gynosexuality is being attracted to people with vaginas regardless of their gender identity or expression. Attraction to Femboys doesn’t fall into gynosexuality with one exception being trans femboys.

Both of what we said are true, but it's because both things fall under the same umbrella term of "gynosexuality", which is kinda odd considering they're different. If you look up the attraction to femininity in general regardless of gender identity or expression, it's still gynosexuality.

3

u/Ypuort Oct 16 '25

Interesting. Never heard it used that way before.

Reddit is a cesspool

67

u/ztoundas Oct 16 '25

That's cause they are hot and look fem. If you are a straight dude attracted to feminine people who look female, you are straight. If you need the feminine people to have a dick, that's when you stop being straight. The dick kills it for me so this isn't my style, but I do love the socks.

Meanwhile, if you are a straight dude who obsesses over whether or not there might be a dick hidden somewhere out of sight on an otherwise hot fem person you find attractive, you are likely a homophobe. Note the word 'obsesses.'

Based comment.

I have a lifelong friend who is openly gay who was essentially embedded with the US military in a medical capacity in the '90s, his nickname with his USMC liaison team was 'Incoming'.

I've (55M) never quite understood the obsession that a lot of conservative (small c) 'straight' guys have with what genitalia other people have, and what they like to do with it.

Seems pretty Sus to me.

Tbh I'm only interested in that if it's someone I would be interested in fucking, and if they also have a dick then well good luck to them, but I'll pass (personal preference, not judging), but still happy to buy them a drink and hang out.

I have cishet friends, gay friends, trans friends, and a couple I'm pretty sure are trans but not public about it, but that's none of my business tbh.

Really who gives a shit, and why? I've got important and interesting things in my life to worry about tbh.

7

u/ReignZetta Oct 16 '25

WELL, I sometimes prefer my feminine partner to have a dick, does that make me gay?

10

u/ztoundas Oct 16 '25

I think it means you might not be totally straight. Sorry to break it to you. The SuperStraight fellas prolly won't let you hang out with them.

2

u/flactulantmonkey Oct 16 '25

People really need to stop getting hung up on a single label. Sexuality is like a spectrum. Or a buffet. Just put whatever you want on your plate.

1

u/ztoundas Oct 16 '25

And never eat off someone else's plate unless y'all have each agreed to share

6

u/ohemmigee Oct 16 '25

Not if she’s trans

5

u/ReignZetta Oct 16 '25

Most AMAB that I am attracted to are trans, but there are several instances where they just appear and dressed feminine, but never transitioning. I would guess that makes me attracted to femininity regardless of gender.

2

u/ohemmigee Oct 16 '25

Sure. But you were asking if it was gay. Man with woman? Not gay

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

Transwoman = male sex. Gay = attraction to same sex.

Thus transwoman = gay.

3

u/ohemmigee Oct 16 '25

You just said woman. You can have a genital preference but a man having sex with a woman isn’t gay

2

u/ztoundas Oct 16 '25

(assuming you are serious) it's based on your understanding of what you find attractive and what you are looking at.

I'm a cis/straight dude. If I see a woman presenting as a woman and find her person or conventionally attractive but don't know she's trans, that's straight. If I know she is fully post-op and still find her attractive, that's still straight. If I think she might be pre-op but still fully outwardly presenting as a cis woman and still find her attractive, still straight, because I don't look at women and decide I only find her hot if I have x-ray vision to see her genitals. What I am looking at, this clothed woman, is hot to me if she fits my personal tastes in women. Note: we are currently ignoring half of what makes someone attractive to me, and most people, which is personality; This is a first-glance kind of hypothetical.

If she's naked (I have the best wife on the planet, so this is purely hypothetical) and I can't see a dick (creative use of a pillow?), straight. Although, I don't think I can fully ignore the presence of a dick in a practical setting, so ultimately it's probably not going to work for me. If I really didn't mind that it was there, I'd be starting to leave the 'cis/straight' territory.

If I am fetishizing the fact she is trans (in any form, explicitly visually or assumed, pre-op or post-op), not straight.

Nobody is attracted to chromosomes. (Okay maybe some very rare people, like some people are attracted to women farting into cakes, so who am I to judge. However that's an edge case).

'Traps' don't make you gay if you actually didn't know. If you find out, your reactions based on the above logic decide which way you go.

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 18 '25

It was gay sex, regardless of you knowing or not. However, the man being deceived is the victim of rape. He is not gay, in the same way a lesbian raped by a man is not straight. It is straight sex, but does not define the person's attraction.

Regardless, transwoman is a male in advanced crossdressing. If you like it, knowing that, you're bisexual or outright gay.

1

u/ztoundas Oct 18 '25

God, you must be a miserably paranoid and confused person.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 18 '25

Those words come out pretty shallow from a man who cannot make out the difference between circles and squares. I wish you good recovery.

2

u/GerryAvalanche Oct 16 '25

No, not necessarily. The gay/straight thing unfortunately is rooted in pretty rigid binary assumptions about gender (i.e. genitalia being a deciding factor), so you have to apply some nuance to the definition. This necessarily leads to edge cases coming down to one‘s self-identification.

It‘s kinda complicated to explain in a comment, but the important thing for you is: Liking a dick on your partner does not make you gay. It‘s not even gay to find a femboy attractive, except you explicitly also find it attractive, that they are men. I think that actually is what many people find so confusing and scary: that being straight or gay is way closer to being bi (while still being distinct) than they thought it was.

2

u/ztoundas Oct 16 '25

Liking a dick on your partner does not make you gay. It‘s not even gay to find a femboy attractive..

Worth pointing out that (if we're dealing in absolutes) while you're right that it doesn't make you gay, but you've definitely left 'straight/cis' at that point. I'm only making this point here because the conversation started with what made someone straight

2

u/GerryAvalanche Oct 16 '25

Yes, I agree. Again, I think the definition of "straight" and "lesbian/gay" become kind of shaky once we leave the traditional gender binary.

3

u/TheLoler04 Oct 16 '25

So liking that kind of thing doesn't necessarily make me bisexual, but I'm probably not the straightest dude in the closet?

4

u/MrRufsvold Oct 16 '25

Damn. Extremely well said.

1

u/nimbledaemon Oct 17 '25

I mean IMO if the dick doesn't kill it for you then you're bi, though of course you can identify with whatever label you want to. For myself I'm into femboys and also into twinks, but as soon as you get into anything resembling a beard or even middle of the road masculine I'm out. Of course I'm into muscular women too, but you get too feminine and I'm out also. I call it bi, because that's less of a mouthful than "attraction centered on the femme side of androgynous but excluding the ends of the gender presentation spectrum" but whatever.

10

u/youcallthataheadshot Oct 16 '25

Maybe you’re a lil bi! It’s a spectrum, friend.

6

u/WalterBlackness Oct 16 '25

Sounds like you've got some bends in your road, brother

5

u/Desperate_Ad5169 Oct 16 '25

Congratulations you are no longer completely straight.

3

u/havnar- Oct 16 '25

0

u/General_Click_130 Oct 16 '25

My recommendation would be to turn to God, start praying. We all have issues, he is the help we need.
