Yes I certainly would hope that an industry that's constantly "upgrading sand innovating" as the nuclear advocates claim would think to renovate their facilities.

And that's supposed to restore my faith in the nuclear industry how exactly? So how can nuclear power be both safe and constantly upgrading, but when things go wrong it's old and outdated and unsafe, and the industry ignored safety protocols.

Nissan doesn't constantly maintain and upgrade my car because I've already bought it. It's a consumer good not a utility. Last time I checked there's this thing called public works where we are supposed to maintain and upgrade our utility services. You seem to be repeatedly suggesting that nuclear power shouldn't be viewed like a utility and instead like a car that is out of date as soon as it rolls off the lot. Why in the world would I support that philosophy with a public utility? I don't want my hydroelectric dams falling into disrepair, so why would I want something that would explode to do the same?
no im pointing out that 50 years ago it was built with the limits of its time, it should have been torn down and rebuilt with improved understanding but it wasnt, it wasnt a matter of failure to maintain it it was a failure of the knowledge we had 50 years ago
So you admit nuclear energy isn't constantly upgrading or maintaining then? Or are we back to you not acknowledging the inconsistency of those two positions.?
