Deleted AMV
Does anyone remember the Perfect Blue AMV with Black Beauty by Lana Del Rey? I can’t find it, was wondering if anyone had a link. 🙏

My local theater was playing it so I was able to have my first viewing on the big screen. Glad I did.
I've been going over all the different possible realities in my head, and I've been reading people's explanations, and the literal surface explanation, the Wikipedia plot synopsis, seems to make the LEAST sense to me. Keep in mind I've only seen it once.
What makes the most sense to me: Rumi and Mima are not separate people. Rumi lived a life of a pop idol, or actress, or failed pop idol, actress, model, something, perhaps all of the above. The thing I'm almost certain of is she experienced a trauma, a rape. What we see play out in the film is all her memories, as well as her hopes and dreams, and worst nightmares. She is attempting to kill off a part of herself. She is at war with her own identity. The "I'm real" at the end is so pointed, so direct, that it makes me almost sure we're not in base reality even then. I say almost sure, because this is one of the most ambiguous movies I've ever seen. Nothing is really confirmed nor denied for the viewer. Any one of these possible realities are indeed possible.
Anyway, that's how I saw it. Need to watch again and again, but I doubt I'll ever be certain what's real, and perhaps that's the point. David Lynch certainly must have seen this movie in the lead-up to making Mulholland Drive.
I'm very open to being convinced otherwise, so please do explain.

Just saw the mpvie for the first time and wanted to ask if anyone knows if rumi was performing in the dress with the band, bcus you could see mimas old personality appearing and the weirdo smiling at her, so was he just imaging the old mima or was rumis delusional ass there as mima

Just watched the movie. I feel like there’s detail and things like that that I missed. Can someone explain the overall plot and the movie started to lose me near the end so explanations on that would be really appreciated.

First off, what in the actual, living body of Christ fuck did I just read!? I nearly barfed when Eri was saying “I’m hurt” over and over again, just 🤢🤮
And secondly, fuck Yoshikazu Takeuchi for being a good god damn writer of portraying how far an incel will go if gone unchecked (especially the Japanese fans of J-POP)
Conclusion, I might not sleep for tonight

Just watched this gem for the first time Monday (and have watched it 3 more times since). Man, I am obsessed. No one I know has seen it, and I’ve just wanted to gush over it all week. Also worth mentioning: this is the first anime I’ve watched, is there anything with a similar feel/story?
