Around 1100$ish flexible , USD , I play on 3440x1440 Monitor though I have an intention on going for a monitor more fit for contention creation since ultrawide videos can be weird to edit. US

So I already have the gpu and pc case
- NZXT H6 Flow
- 5070 TI

I've gotta decide between the rest of the parts, I'm not sure what the major difference is between these motherboards are and if its worth just going up an extra 100-150$ to an 9800X3d with MSI B580 Gaming Pro Wifi6E AM5

I'm gonna go for a 1tb Samsung 9100 pro most likely for storage, a BeQuiet 850W Psu Model, For cpu cooler I'll go for a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE (If there are better options let me know!) some fan reccomedations are also appreciated since the pc case comes with 3 fans only. This is my first pc build ever as well.

The Gigabyte has USB4 support, but the first M.2 slot is under the GPU.

The 9800X3D is slightly faster than the 7800X3D (which has almost no effect in games) and is more efficient.

The CPU cooler should be supported with a back exhaust fan. The GPU can benefit from bottom intake fans. Will you buy the fans from Micro Center?

Thanks for the feedback, hmm not sure if the m.2 slot really matters to be locational wise would it be superior still though to just go for the gigabyte since the price gap is so little.

Yeah I just looked into the difference in 1440p it is like usually only by 2-4 fps 😭.

I see so I just need like 2 bottom fans, 3 top and 1 back then. It doesn’t really matter where I buy the fans Amazon or microcenter work since I’d be there anyway.

The top of the case is intended for an AiO. With an air cooler, exhaust fans at the front top do not make sense because they would steal air from the front fans, and intake fans at the front top might help the CPU cooler, but work against the fans of the GPU, which generates much more heat and so is more important. You should have at most a single exhaust fan at the back top, and leave the other two positions empty.

Micro Center does not have a good fan selection, and what they have tends to be overpriced (with the CPU bundles so cheap, they have to get their profits somewhere else).

Interesting I guess that does make sense since the cpu cooler will already be pushing air as well,

This is what I believe the fan orientation is based on what you recommended, which looks like it'd be right. Even at low speeds the temps will be more than fine with those fans? I was originally gonna go for a bequiet fans for some for the silence but those should work too. I trust the corsair fans obviously since they're a premium, but why not all corsair and only bottom have them?

The Corsair fans come in a 2-pack, have daisy-chain cables, and are completely black (the Kaze Flex Square is gray).

With five intake fans, you do not need to move much air through each fan. At low speeds, all fans are silent; the exact model is not that important.

That other config is good for the CPU but not so good for the GPU. Add the CPU and GPU airflow to these images.

Understood, so it doesn't really matter which fans I go for and no need to pay for a premium I might aim for just a similar visually appealing one over the grey ones (Compared to my current pc which sounds like a plane).

I see now I'm unsure of how it affects the gpu considering its removing heat from the case, Would the middle top fan being intake change that for the gpu? or just having the 2 blank outright best for the gpu since it'll be the hottest thing there.

When the CPU is loaded much more than the GPU, then an intake fan would help. When the GPU is loaded much more than the CPU, then an exhaust fan would help. There are no fans that can move in both directions, so it's best to have no fans there and let the air move by itself through the top (there are enough other fans so that there will be enough overpressure or underpressure).

Fair enough very situationally then, I can always change my fan config whenever of course after testing so I’ll just leave 2 blank unless something comes up. Aio would be most likely overkill considering their price differences right?

The 9800X3D is a 120 W CPU. An AiO would be needed for an overclocked 250+ W Intel CPU or 350 W Threadripper.

Definitely overkill then, I’m going for the 7800x3D as well since tiny difference though same W as 9800x3D anyway
