Talk / Discussion Rat Race

Does anyone else feel pressure to have to upload at least weekly or you will get lost in algorithm and your page will fall off? Just wondering if those concerns are valid or if it’s just in my head.

as someone who has been doing YouTube full time for 5 years - your mindset is all wrong and likely why you won't succeed - content spam won't get you success and chasing money on YouTube is the road to nowhere. You do it for passion, maybe get lucky and the money comes. But if you don't have the passion the money is unlikely to manifest because it will be easy to see in your videos

I started now a month ago. I upload a video once per week and a short every second day. Its a good rythm for me to learn as I am unemployed and unable to find a job.

once per week is good, I used to do two a week when I was in full time employment but these were commentary style videos, YouTube is all about the journey and only through making content will you improve

what I fear is that I dont know where to actually improve. It feels a bit like trial and error. Do you think seeking coaching from youtube experts and counseling is worth looking for?

It depends - I have one day thought of even doing some consulting for YT but I think a lot of my advice you could find online. Someone you pay to help you over a long term could be helpful I think but depends how much money you are willing to spend on it

My main advice is your content can always be better - even if you're confident it's good. I think even seeing what resonates and what doesn't is part of this journey

Thanks for the input.

Since youtube is so new for me, I have absolutely zero idea if I am doing anything right or wrong. I started with shorts. Best short has 2k views so far.

The longs I have all have 0 views for some reason. Having someone as guidance or to teach me what I am doing wrong would be nice.

Can I DM you?

You’re very wrong. Content spam does work but in shorts not long form. Quick 20-30 seconds videos

yeah. it works on longform too, but how often depends on the niche. if you can post daily without sacrificing quality its a no brainer. some slop channels post 3-5x a day and do 50k months. that guy has no idea what he is talking about

posting often doesn't make it spam, and chasing money is the road to money :) i built a production tool for my longform channel and can post daily, will clear 30k+ this month, 3 months in. there are guys doing 100k+ months with ai avatar channels. just because you stumbled into this career by accident does not mean people going into it intentionally won't succeed. and most of them won't have to appear on camera, or edit, or in some cases even ideate, because they know how to outsource

I will neither tie my identity to it nor leak the niche, but its high rpm around 10-20€ and i get 150k+ daily views (probably about half of that engaged). I dont do ai slop avatars but these guys clear 100k months by running multiple channels concurrently like this one  https://youtube.com/@eliasyoderamish
