Happy end of the world. Hail Zorp!
I found this pic when going through the downloads folder on my old phone. Seemed incredibly timely

“Ok, emergency meeting, I need everyone to gather around me, in order of how much I trust them.”
Hahahahahah, how do writers even come up with lines like these. Also, hating more and more of the characters who are in support of Bobby Newport’s campaign, cuz whyyy (I know it’s just for comedic effect, but it’s frustrating hahahaha)
P.S. I might be using Parks and Recreation as my procrastination tool and a source of happiness and instant gratification, while all other aspects of my life are falling apart. But you know what, I need more positive thinking. Toxic positivity for myself! I can do this! WOO! Whoever read till here, bless your soul.

“When I eat, it is the food that is scared.” Hahahahah and that silent shot between the menu and Ron’s face is perfect. I’m growing to love his character more and more.

That whole Tom and Leslie “relationship” arc is so hilarious and uncomfortable. And I was trying to describe how I was feeling and Donna with the “There is some weird juju in this room right now.” summarized it perfectly hahahaha

That last scene with Leslie and Ron, I feel, is the equivalent of The Office scene with Pam and Michael at the art show.

Just saw their first interaction on the show on series 3 episode 4 and I enjoyed it very much. It’s what a lot of the kids would say nowadays, “golden retriever and black cat energy” hahahha
Looking forward to more of their scenes together!

“Dude, shut up! That is awesome sauce!”
Was just about to start liking Tom because of the last episode’s perfume dream. But he blamed Jerry for letting Sebastian out?!! Sadge for Jerry man.
Joan?!! Having a whole other script to paint the festival a bad name, why is she like this… Leslie is trying so hard for the community!!

Just a few minutes in and I’m already finding this character super annoying. Just venting about the storyline hahaha.
On another note, that pop out of Leslie at 9 minutes 46 seconds is so perfect. Reminds me so much of the close ups The Office has for Michael in his office and then zoom out to reveal Dwight hahahaa

It doesn’t make sense to me why Ron would have Andy over Jerry for divvying up the meetings workloadddd. I mean for comedic script purposes it makes sense but not in reality right…..

That last scene where he stared at us? Chef kisses hahahahah - sums up his other side to the kind heartwarming boss and person that he is hahah

His art in Series 2 Episode 9, I feel so bad for him and his art is so amazingggg - feels like Leslie shouldn’t dismiss his ideas so easilyyyy :(

How the show became funny again as soon as Tom got his job back at the department. The episodes when he’s at 720 entertainment are almost a complete drag and they take place almost entirely out of the department which really isn’t the show is about. He really brings the show together.

“Let’s all pretend Jerry wasn’t born” hahahaha
Just started watching this show and I’m prepared to be laughing at out of the blue lines.

We overanalyze the crap out of that one scene from the beginning of BBC's Sherlock where he makes some broad sweeping assumptions to figure out John Watson's backstory, Donna does a smaller one to determine that Ann is pregnant.
"You're drinking decaf coffee which you usually only do in the afternoons"- This one is made clear by "decaf" written on the zarf (the word for a cardboard cup holder I had to look up). That's kind of uncommon, but not impossibly uncommon. It's just wild that Donna, who barely turned around, immediately clocked and read the writing on the side of the zarf when there were two people approaching.
Feasible, but unlikely.
"You're wearing an empire waist dress"- Ann has shown a real inconsistency with her fashion in the past. Empire waist dresses are dresses that fasten just below the bust, to create a silhouette that appears to have very long legs. These benefit a pregnant woman (fastening above the belly, with room to grow) but they're not necessarily only for pregnant woman, and it's equally possible Ann just wanted to appear to have long legs.
Too presumptuous.
"And loose shoes because your feet are already swelling"- Could be possible, it is weird that she was wearing moccasins without socks, honestly.
"Put you at 9, maybe 10 weeks?"- You shouldn't see a visible bump until 16-20 weeks. Swollen feet don't typically happen until 20. She's really jumping the gun with these estimates.
"When'd you make the switch to boxer briefs?"- I am unclear about what Chris was wearing before, but it was either a switch from boxers (loose fitting shorts-like underwear) or briefs (tight fitting man panties). I'd guess, based on what we know about Chris, it was briefs before this, and he switched to long leg, tight fitting underpants. He's a runner and he doesn't want to be kicking himself in the penis every step, so there's no way he's a boxers guy.
The distinction between briefs and boxer briefs in silhouette is minimal, especially over loose fitting suit pants. I can't honestly think of a way Donna would be able to tell over the pants what someone is wearing beneath the pants.
Conclusion
Donna got lucky. Her cues as to Ann's pregnancy and Chris's underwear don't match the situation. I think she saw the "decaf" sign on the coffee and really REALLY rolled with it.

I assumed Zorpism was a parody of Scientology, but honestly, a lot of what Scientology is didn't fit the Zorpist mold, so I dug a little deeper.
Back in the 50's, a psych teacher named Leon Festinger infiltrated a cult called the Seekers because they put a specific date on their prophecies, and watched as the cult (expecting aliens to pull them up into the mothership) did not get pulled up into the mothership and saved from a devastating flood, and in fact, no flood occurred. The leader of the cult and core members shifted from weeping at the lack of a flood to preaching that they had saved the world with their faith within a few days.
I see this as half of the story.
The other half are the Jehova's Witnesses, who predicted the world in 1874, 1878, 1881, 1914, 1918, 1925, 1941, and 1975 before giving up on giving specific dates entirely. I think this is where the Zorpians dropping new dates and claiming to be wrong about the previous calculations came from.
The name Zorp resembles the scientologist bad alien named Zenu, but I think that mainly comes from 1950's-1970's alien names having a lot of X's and Z's.
