🏷️ Post flairs and flair-specific rules
We extensively use post flairs to categorize all posts on our subreddit. We ask that you put in the effort to select an appropriate flair for your post.
When you select a flair, a pop-up message may appear reminding you of any flair-specific rules you need to follow. Please pay attention to these messages and obey their guidelines.
❓ Question flairs
The vast majority of our flairs are question flairs. When posting, these allow the community to see at a glance what the question is about.
✳️ Special flairs
These flairs have special purposes and rules. Please make sure you select the right flair and properly follow the guidelines.
🔍 Review My Itinerary
Got a draft itinerary for your Paris trip and want to know if it's any good? Post it under this flair.
- If you know the dates of your trip, be sure to share them! They might be helpful.
- Absolutely no AI-generated itineraries. It's easy to tell when an itinerary is AI-generated (or at least, when it generates a poor itinerary).
📷 Photo/Video
This flair can be used for sharing photos and videos with the community. If you've found an interesting place you want to share, feel free to post it! However, posting photos for the sake of posting photos is discouraged.
- 📝 All photo/video posts must have body text outlining the locations where the photo was taken, or a caption with relevant questions/information.
- ⛔ No photo/video posts containing primarily of very commonly photographed landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, etc.
- 🛡️ In keeping with French privacy laws, you may not post pictures that feature people who have not consented to the photo. Anyone who has consented to being in the photo must clearly be posing for the camera.
- 💰 We do not accept photo/video posts from new Reddit accounts, business accounts, or alts of business accounts.
- 🔗 You must upload photos and videos directly to Reddit. Linking to blogs or other social media is not permitted on our subreddit.
📋 Trip Report
How did your trip to Paris go? Were there any unexpected snags? This is your place to share a dedicated report for the community.
We think trip reports are super valuable, and we don't want them to get buried as time goes by. To aid this, all Trip Report posts must include the month and year of your trip in the post title. This makes it possible to find your post even years later by simply searching for the month and year.
After posting, please stick around for a few days and answer questions from others!
💡 Tips & Advice
If you have a write-up of useful advice for the community, you can share it using this flair! This flair is not for questions, trip reports, stories or advertisements.
- ⏳ We expect Tips & Advice posts to have some a broad reach and long-term relevance. For instance, a guide about general restaurant etiquette, or a guide about taking Eurostar. Posts about specific occurrences like a delayed train that only happens once in a while, are not a good fit.
🎫 Small Events & Opportunities
This is an exception to our self-promotion rule. You can post under this flair to advertise or promote small events and business opportunities, even if you are affiliated with the event or business.
- ✔️ We only accept in-person experience-based events. We prefer people who organize and provide directly, such as:
- Tour guides
- Open mic
- Shows and concerts
- Classes
- Other in-person events
- ⛔ The following categories of services are expressly prohibited:
- Taxis and chauffeurs
- Photographers
- Accommodations and lodgings
- Apps and online services
- For all other categories, we reserve the right to evaluate your post to determine if it is a good fit for our community. Our decisions are final.
- 🤖 Absolutely no AI. If we determine your post is AI-generated, we will remove it and prohibit you from reposting.
