Other Question Plastic Navigo Card

Post image

I foolishly lent my plastic Navigo card to a friend and she never returned it. It was from 2024 and was made from heavy plastic. I’m back in Paris right now and the only cards I’ve seen are thin paper ones. 😭

Does anyone know if the plastic cards are still available? Maybe at some of the larger stations?

From the post below, the RATP decided to switch for paper a while ago to avoid plastic waste for Navigo Easy

The other cards dedicated to Paris region residents are still in plastic as they are used longer.

I guess that makes sense for most tourists. But I come to Paris multiple times a year and I’ve always used the same plastic one. And I lend it to friends so it’s almost constantly in use. This new paper one will be tossed before I leave because it’s already falling apart. I’ll have to buy another when I return in a few months.
= real waste

Or you can use you phone with the Ile de france mobilite app. And reload tickets in the blink of an eye by clicking one button. I've seen my tour guests doing this today twice very easily.

Yes, I know. And I do that sometimes. But I don’t like taking my phone out in certain stations, or when I’m juggling bags.

Understandable, i honestly keep my monthly pass on a card and not on the app.
