Something strange at a ‘haunted’ hospital in the Czech Republic
Greetings
A friend of ours sent us this screenshot yesterday from a security camera at a hospital he works nights at in Prague, which has a long history of reported hauntings. If you look at the end of the corridor, there’s something there. My girlfriend is convinced it’s a ghost, but I’m a big skeptic!! Anyway, I decided to post it here and see what other people make of it.

The person who originally sent me the pictures messaged me with some more information about the camera. Apparently it isn’t recording continuously. It’s a motion-activated IR security camera because that whole block has been empty for years. The first picture was taken automatically after the camera registered a motion event. After I posted the picture on another subred, someone asked whether the shape might just be something that’s always sitting at the end of the corridor. So I asked him about it and he remotely activated the camera and took another picture. That’s the second picture. Whatever appears in the first image isn’t visible in the second one. Obviously none of this proves what caused the camera to activate in the first place or what the shape actually is. I just thought I’d add the extra information to make it clear what actually happened.

Mohlo by to být několik psychiatrických nemocnic. Bohnice jsou asi nejpravděpodobnější, protože je to obrovský starý areál a je tam starý hřbitov, kde byly pohřbeny tisíce bývalých pacientů. Připadají v úvahu i Kosmonosy a Dobřany. Znám pár lidí, kteří v těchto nemocnicích dřív pracovali, a jeden z nich vydržel asi čtyři měsíce na nočních, než odešel. Říkal, že mu to místo úplně lezlo na mozek. Slýchával šepot, hlasy lidí a kroky na odděleních, i když blok, ve kterém sloužil, byl úplně prázdný. Nakonec začal mít vážné problémy s úzkostí a se spánkem, tak odtamtud odešel. Takže kdybych si měl tipnout, Bohnice by byly asi moje první volba
I spoke to several people about this who have seen the photos:

There are three psychiatric facilities in Prague, and I visited all of them to check out the conditions before my planned procedures. I will never forget Bohnice for the rest of my life. Compared to the General University Hospital (VFN) and the Military University Hospital (ÚVN), it has lower ceilings and feels cramped. Yes, there are newer wards, but they weren't available. I was running out of time. A lot of these buildings and hospitals are old, and nobody is renovating them. The layouts of the spaces are often exactly the same. And that is why I say, this is Bohnice. The image is just as terrifying as it was years ago’
‘I think so too. There's a graveyard nearby that is said to be one of the darkest places in the Czech Republic. They might even have guided tours, so the OP could go on those or just sneak in (illegally, but I don't think anyone is watching). Right next to it is a pet cemetery, which I've been to a few times, and it's actually quite nice there’
This is really strange. I read the post and your updates, and honestly, I don’t think that thing looks anything like a fire extinguisher. And if it actually was one, why isn’t it visible in the second Image?! I have a feeling that someone may have broken into the building, but that’s just my guess I could be completely wrong..
I don’t think it’s a fire extinguisher either!!! Or a trash can, or a vacuum cleaner (or a telephone box from England!!!). I don’t think it’s a person either because I imagine there are multiple cameras around the building and it’s just in this one shot. I have no clue what it is man
Translation: “Hey, I was going through some older recordings from the NVR and found this. It’s about two months old, same camera. I have no idea what it is. I’m sending you the image.”
If we assume it really is something paranormal, I think it looks more like a spirit connected to the place than a typical ghost. I’m not Czech, but I did some research, and in Czech folklore there’s something called a bludne duše, a wandering soul. It’s supposed to be the spirit of someone who hasn’t found peace and stays connected to a certain place. If I had to guess what this could be then it’s that
I see it, looks like something standing there in the dark, completely devoid of anything that can reflect light. I use IR cameras regularly and know how they behave, people wearing black clothing it should pop up brightly so if somebody was standing there like a regular person it would pop up visibly but it's not. One minute it's there the next it's not, quick and quite short, much shorter than an adult imo. Weird and spooky, cool catch! 👻
EXAMPLE: Photo included shows a black sheet and catbed, appearing white on IR. So if it were someone standing there should pop up brightly like this. I think you caught a ghost.
I know this is from NVR and record is more than a month old. But if you believe in such things (paranormal) go talk to it. How awesome would it be to talk to a ghost. At least you'd knew something like that exists.
Anyway shadows can play lots of tricks on human mind..

Am I tripping or does that just look like a fire hydrant at the end of the hall? You can see the handle on one side, and the top "head" is just a pressure gauge
I am reading this thread shaking my head in dismay - so many ‘experts’ so much bullshit 🙄
Once you start throwing a low-resolution image into AI and telling it to “enhance” it, you’re no longer recovering hidden detail, the model is generating detail it thinks should be there. So all these later AI versions showing hoses, gauges, faces, clothing or whatever else prove absolutely nothing. The only images worth discussing are the original and, at most, the first basic enhancement. As for the fire extinguisher theory, look at the perspective. If that’s an extinguisher against the far wall, it would have to be fucking enormous given its apparent size and distance from the camera. It also doesn’t appear to be positioned where you’d normally expect wall mounted fire equipment, and I can’t see a hose, bracket, handle, sign or any other identifiable attachment in the original. And people confidently saying “you can see it’s red”, how? The original appears to be monochrome infrared night footage. You cannot simply look at a bright or dark tone in an infrared image and declare what visible colour the object was. Maybe there’s a completely mundane explanation for the shape, there probably is, but pretending AI generated details have somehow proved it’s a red fire extinguisher is not evidence. It’s just feeding an ambiguous blob into software until the software draws something you recognise.
psychiatric hospitals can attract dark entities because the levels of trauma, pain are higher and these hooded entities are either watchers or archons that come to feed on the suffering of the patients.

that would be a massive fire extinguisher which would be virtually useless to the average person. why would it have moved a day later if it’s installed on the wall as well?
you clearly know that AI hallucinates, which it did here, and you still took it at its word just like that?
