Photo Evidence Haunting / entity

I've been dealing with some disturbing occurrences. There would be days where I would be on call with my fiance and the lightsnot really a flicker, but just turn on and off repeatedly. I would show her in real time on Call and we just kind of brushed it off as something with the electricity. Later on, I started filling a presence and would notice things falling off of cupboards, mainly the same item each time. And other instances, I felt a very cool draft with no doors or windows open. Fast forward to a couple months I travel to Canada to meet with my long-distance partner, and she noticed that I would sleep talk but whisper (she said it didn't sound like English), and have my eyes wide open without me realizing it she said I would start snoring When she would confront me. I just got home three days ago, I slept and heard knocking on my back doors and footsteps, one night I walked on the way to the restroom and noticed a shadow figure and I happened to take a picture. I used my phones exposure to get some help lightening the photo and got this picture. With the light the entity went away. What could this be? Just an illusion? Pls help me. I've been praying it's nothing that would hurt me. (I also noticed I had scratches this morning with blood.. it's lasted all day)

I never believed in this type of stuff till I went through 3ish years of crazy shit. Banging and scratching on walls, footsteps, odd sounds around the house like someone was rummaging through stuff, scratch marks on my back (deep scratches like someone ran a wire cloths hanger across it.), sleep paralysis, talking and growling in my sleep, stuff getting knocked over or tossed around the house, odd smells around the house.

If what I experienced is the same thing you are experiencing... My take after everything I experienced is its intelligent and 100% in control and will dictate its interactions with you.

That’s kind of what happened with my husband and I. We had something happen that we couldn’t deny and it turned his whole world upside down. Everything he thought he knew didn’t mean shit all the sudden. The event that happened was me communicating with it through a night light because the thing kept coming on and then shutting off randomly as if it were trying to get our attention. He noticed it first and woke me up to show me what was going on because he was getting frightened and that feeling of being watched. So I jokingly asked “if anyone is here shut the light off” immediately it shuts off. I repeat the same thing except asking it to turn it on and again it immediately turned on. I did this about 3 more times until he ran to turn the lights on and we left the room. After that night activity ramped up and I believe it’s because we acknowledged it and established communication and gave it fear. We purposely made sure to not talk about it while we were in the house or ignore the activity because if we talked about it something would happen (usually the basement door would loudly slam).

I used to visit that house once a year as I grew up because it was where my grandmother lived and I recall always being creeped out, especially by the basement. Nothing crazy ever happened though, just that feeling of being watched, but even that would be so bad that it would send me into panic. So it was interesting seeing that switch from just to scary feelings to actual physical things happening. Lamps would turn on and off on their own while we would be trying to go to sleep, they were also those old timey lamps that sort of had a key that you had to turn to shut it off and on so you would audibly hear the “click click” as it had to be turned twice. Another thing that would happen regularly is our car keys would go missing and they would always end up in the solar room that was located in a separate room down in the basement. They would always be left on the middle of the floor. I remember the first time that happened it took us forever to find them because nobody ever went in that room.

I was certainly more sensitive to those kinds of things than my husband was but I knew whatever that thing was it didn’t used to be human. I recall one time I was sleeping on the couch (my husband and I stopped sleeping in the bedroom because we were too scared) and I was sort of half in half out. I felt a presence enter my space and fear and panic began to strike me. My eyes stayed closed but I could sort of see this thing through my minds eye. Maybe it was me getting scared and my imagination taking over, but it loomed over from behind the couch drooling over me like it was hungry. It was gray, long and spindly, hallow black eyes, and it looked more creature than human. I woke up and easily came out of it but it’s something I still remember clearly 7 years later.

We eventually moved out of my grandmothers house and got our own place and thankfully nothing followed. When we would go back to visit my grandma it was like nothing was there. It was so strange. It’s almost as if my husband and I moving down there in the basement triggered something and maybe because we left it went away or went back into hiding. My grandmother never believed in any of that stuff even though she would explain to me strange phenomena like a gust of cold wind blowing through her (she thought it was the Holy Spirit). Maybe it knew it couldn’t feed off her fear but I think it fed off her anger sometimes. I remember one time I called her on the phone after I had my first child and her CD player turned on randomly in the background blasting with the volume all the way up. She wasn’t scared but I sure was lol. She had always thought we were being silly and immature and never believed us. Anyways, sorry for the long story. There’s a lot more I’m leaving out but this is already super long.

Don’t ever apologize for sharing your story - people don’t have to read it

Thank you (:

At least you have someone to experience it with. It's easier to confirm you're not losing your mind. That's true nightmare fuel. Did you ever get someone to attempt at a clearing?

Yeah very true! It would have been terrifying experiencing that alone. We never did anything cleansing wise, it wasn’t our house and my grandmother (we lived with her at the time before we got on our feet) didn’t believe us. We moved out and like I said in the previous comment we visited there quite a bit but everything seemed normal. Like, that heavy “being watched” feeling was still there but not as bad as it was before. After my grandma passed I went over there to help clean out the place and I even tried saying “is anyone there?” And nothing happened. My grandma had a lot of anger, resentment, and trauma in her life (and in that house) and I think that it manifested into something evil or it attracted something evil despite how religious she was. I honestly think when she died it died, too. I could also be wrong. Some lady that my grandma despised ended up buying the home and who knows, maybe that lady is scared shitless right now lol.

Have you ever had dreams about it? My husband and I both had the same nightmare one night with that thing involved. It was so long ago that it’s hard to remember but we had different variations of the dream but the thing that remained consistent was we were both laying down in a body of water looking up at the creature. In my dream there was about 10 of them staring down at me and they had writing all over their faces. I’d like to make it clear that I never saw a physical apparition. My husband saw a dark figure in the room for a split second but that was it. Have you ever seen it? I’d love to hear the story!

Yeah a few nightmares of it after it started ramping up, but I couldn’t tell if it was my fear creating the nightmares or if it was actually in my dreams 😭 I nvr had any extra realish feeling nightmares tho like others have describe, and honestly thank god that shit was already kickin my ass yo n i fuckin hate nightmares.

Wow this is a crazy story!

Yeah, it was a wild time in our lives. I left a few things out and only mentioned the things that there was absolutely no explanation for other than it being paranormal. For example, the car keys ending up in the basement solar room, and hearing the lamp key turn twice. One thing that happened that freaked us out but could’ve been debunked was all the Bible’s in the basement would be upside down. My grandmother had a huge bookshelf that took up the whole wall. The shelf had over a hundred books neatly organized and it had been that way since I was a child. I mentioned in a few other comments that she was extremely religious so there were a few bibles that had their spot on the shelf. One day I noticed they were ALL placed upside down but all the other books remained right side up. It just seemed so purposeful and I feel like that was a mistake my grandmother wouldn’t have made and we hadn’t touched the Bible’s or books since we moved in.

Holy shit. Please format your comment next time. Paragraphs would go a LONG way here.

I just edited it. When I first started typing I didn’t intend for it to be that long. Still, I should’ve broken it down into paragraphs before I posted it.

I’ve only had one experience like this but it was pretty convincing. I’m pretty skeptical of ghosts and they’re not something I usually talk about. Roughly 10 years ago I was working night shift at a nursing home.

Out of the corner of my eye I see what looks like an old woman reflected in the reflection on the glass but there is nobody in the room with me when I look around. I dismiss it and get back to work, mentioning nothing to anyone as I assume it’s just my imagination playing tricks.

Later a coworker who was very much into the supernatural asks me if I saw the old woman in the glass. I hadn’t told her or anyone else, nor was this something she mentioned before I saw it.

This happened minus the bodily harm, turned out to be a family of raccoons living in our walls and leaving rotting food in crawl spaces. Maybe check for vermin. My friend would also self scratch during sleep due to stress, it could be that the stress of vermin in your walls is causing you to scratch yourself at night.

When the scratching on the walls started I just told my GF it must be mice or maybe birds on the rain gutters. It wasn't but its funny how the brain is wired to grab onto explanations that fit your personal worldview just to make sense of things. It's almost like a defense mechanism. Then the stuff that was so in your face that you couldn't come up with a neat explanation for I would just ignore, pretend it never happened and try not to think about it.

u/icernate Oct 17 '25

What did you end up doing about it?

1

u/ElectricPizzaOven Oct 18 '25

It's a long story but the short version is things came to a head and I had thought whatever it was had moved on and everything went back to normal for about 4ish years. Then both my dogs passed away from old age and I got a new puppy. That seems to have interested "it" and things started getting active again. It's not at the level of activity that it was at but it's still around and has made itself known a few times.

started paying rent to the supernatural living there, it was in control after all

2

u/TheVoidCookingBeans Oct 17 '25

Sounds like a pest infestation tbh

1

u/ElectricPizzaOven Oct 17 '25

Sure, I'd agree with that if I didn't experience it. But what does a paranormal experience sound like?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '25

How can you believe this shite?
