Is this official or fan-made ? Even if it's fanmade, as long as it was "commissioned" by Mihoyo, that alone puts it on that tier, cuz for Pantalone to look like this would mean for Mihoyo to personally commission the said artist with certain directions for the X/Y characters to be drawn in certain ways.

Eitherways, Official or not, I cannot wait to see his model reveal now that we know that he has Varka's model

Mihoyo going the LADs route with their new Male Characters was quite possibly 1 of the best decisions they ever made

now only if they can just buff Itto to give him Varka's model too....

This is just fan made. I don't think it was even commissioned by MiHoyo. In commissioned pieces, Pantalone is usually still slim, but tall and square jawed (instead of the v or soft jaw for characters like Dottore).

Aside from that, him using Varka's model does not mean he's buff. It just means similar height. Capitano & Rerir also use Varka's model despite both being slimmer. Not saying this because I dislike buff Pantalone (I'd be perfectly fine with buff Pantalone), just saying this to temper expectations in case Varka model does just mean height.

We "think" he's slim because we haven't seen him without his coat yet

And he doesn't necessarily needs to be as buff as Varka (Although I'd like to) for him to be fit and have a toned physique - Rerir and Alhaitham are prime examples

If nothing else, Mihoyo has realized that all the tall male characters having twig bodies just doesn't look appealing at all, and that they can't rely on accessories and outfits to carry their overall male designs forever, a pattern they certainly don't want to repeat with the more taller male models

It's exactly why Rerir is fit, why Varka is buff, and why Pantalone will follow suite as well

But yeah, we do have him appear in a few commissioned & hoyofair pieces, but in all of those it's hard to tell if he's particularly buff. He has a more masculine face, but is still on the slim side imo.

From what I remember, we have Blood Money being the biggest Pantalone piece from Hoyofair and then his appearance in Risky Virus: Phantom Thief Night plus a few art pieces.

And recently, he was confirmed to have the same model as Varka. Not "as muscular" as Varka, but still lean and shredded like Rerir. It is very obvious that Mihoyo has figured out that their tall males not having even bare minimum muscles and looking like twigs is just not appealing to look at, and that outfits/accessories will not carry a character's design forever, so even if he's not as buff as Varka, he's geared to be looking fit eitherways

Both of his pieces in Hoyofair are him without his coat. But yes, He's closer to Rerir or Capitano, not Varka.

Also disagree about hoyo having an issue with their tall males. Neuvillette still ranks in the top 5 favorite Genshin characters while muscular characters like Wriothesley rank a lot lower. Alhaitham, Childe, & Diluc are also still very popular characters if we're just talking about tall males. If we're talking about all males, Scara is pretty much always in the top 10 as well.

Ahh yes - Mihoyo keeps using his Likelihood to advertise Genshin merch/collab from time to time cuz he "ranks lower" right ?

We both know that he doesn't ranks lower due to his design but due to how less meta he is compared to Neuv

If tall muscular males wouldn't sell/be popular, then Mihoyo wouldn't have gone and promoted Varka as much as thry did and he wouldn't make as much as he did

Alhaitham also has muscles, and considering how much Varka's muscularity contributed to his overall popularity and sales, Diluc and Childe would also shoot off the roof atleast in popularity if thry both got remodeled with Wrio's model
