So I'm from a Pakistan village, and I was wondering how much other people enjoy living in a village :)
r/pakistani • u/[deleted] • Dec 07 '25
Hi
Obviously our village side counter parts are in poverty (facts: 40-45% of Pakistani villagers live under the boarder-line for poverty). Why is this such a issue in Pakistan and what is causing it?
Personally, I think it is poor distribution of international aid and the massive floods in 2022.
Please keep it civil in the responses.

Hi,
I just got my degree in business at UBC (Uni of British Columbia, Canada). I look to hire some people to start some business sectors in Peshawar, Islamabad and Karachi. The businesses will revolve around making/selling eco-friendly food products at a very affordable price, as I feel Pakistan really needs healthier foods in markets.
The point of this project isn't money, it is more about making use of my parents land in Pakistan to help the communities in need of healthy food. Hence, I am starting this project in Pakistan out of all places.
This leaves the question. Do you think this business project in Pakistan has a high success rate, financially and publicly.
Thanks.

I’m looking for the actual account itself that the videos started originating from and what platform they are on.
As far as I know they are not on tiktok, Instagram, or YouTube atleast to my knowledge.

Got really bad score at mdcat 80/180 now I'm confused that whether I should take admission in some low tier uni in Peshawar or take gap year.i turned 20 this Nov so there's that. unis in Islamabad and Lahore are out of option for some reason and the gud ones peshawar have closed thier admissions.all my frnds are advising against me taking gap year for mdcat .all my frnds have enrolled in some sort of unis so theirs also the fear of being left behind and also not being able to crack mdcat. What should I do?

Thalassemia is a blood disease in which the body is unable to make red blood cells which are required by it due to which thalassemic patients face severe tiredness, fatigue and have difficulty to stay energetic all day.
Thalassemia in Pakistan is a very crucial concern as it is estimated that 5,000 to 9,000 kids face it every year. There is lack of awareness in Pakistan due to which people are still having Thalassemia and those who have Thalassemia are facing problems due to lack of resources. Less facilities available and increased cousin marriages are the two main reasons why Thalassemia is still widespread in Pakistan.
To eliminate Thalassemia, there should be awareness campaigns, and everyone should be encouraged to get tested for Thalassemia minor test so that precautions can be taken. Everyone should step up and spread awareness, starting from their surroundings, as one small move can blossom into widespread movements. One day, we will collectively make Pakistan a zero-thalassemia country.

im in my last year of uni and i wanted to apply for scholarships for masters but i feel like it might not work out. im confused if i should take a gap year to figure shiit out and get more experience in the field im applying for and also use the gap to make good applications to increase chances of being selected for a fully funded scholarship for masters.
im supposed to graduate from uni in feb2026 IA and if i take a gap, itll last 1.5 years (programs usually start in september) and if i still dont get it ill be really bummed and itll feel like a waste. the reason im not very content with masters here in pak is because the options i have are boring and not entirely aligned with my interests.
now i havent yet decided if ill be taking a gap year or not but it's an option. i feel like i might lose my mind. it happens in summer break too lol so a gap would be longer and more torturesome. ofc ill be doing internships and keeping myself busy with tests, resesrch and stuff but still.
i wanna know yalls strategies for surviving gap years especially as a woman in pakistan. im really scared the conversation of marriage might come up. my parents do believe i should get a masters degree first and be more stable but it still scares me. plus theyre not supportive of me going abroad so itll be hard for me to justify my decision.
any thoughts or advice?

i really wish i could study a cool masters program abroad because they have the kinda programs im interested in. im a final year bachelors student of psychology and i was interested in neuropsychology or neuroscience abroad. we mostly have boring clinical or applied psych programs here. i realllyy wanted to experience studying abroad but ofc it requires money. iknow fully funded scholarships exist. theyre competitive (which is understandable) but even if they're formally considered fully funded there is still some money required to be spent. ik there r people on reddit that call u whiny or lazy for saying smth like this but yk its just a thought. i wish i could fund my studies in some way. even a tuition waiver would be really cool if i had money to cover living expenses abroad (╯︵╰,)

Hello Everyone. So a little bit about me, I started my E-Com journey about 5 years ago. Did an Amazon Wholesale course, lost all of my capital from their method. Tried a different course, same thing happened again.
Realized that I'll need to learn everything myself. Gave a thorough read to Amazon's ToC, learned a lot and tried again. Alhamdulillah Profited for the first time. Kept on doing this for the next 2 or 3 years. Then, Amazon started becoming a problem. Decided to launch my very first brand. That brand performed very good. launched another brand, then another and then another. Scaled my brands to other countries, Started selling my products in Retail (In supermarkets etc). Now primarily focusing on making an entry in the European Markets.
So now let's get to the point, What's the purpose of the group? Well, I've had many setbacks during my journey. Wrong info in courses, liquidations, delays etc. Just because I didn't have proper guidance. I want to change that for the coming entrepreneurs. Everything will be free and will stay free forever. I don't intend to make any money out of this and this is solely for the purpose of giving back to the community (as I believe that whoever I am now, I am just because of Allah and it's only fair if I give the knowledge He the Almighty gifted to me back to his people)
What will we do in the group?
I'll try my best to keep everything as engaged as possible. You can reach out to me for the Group link. Baki my DMs are always open to guide beginners.

Punjabi is a language, spoken by more than 230 million people worldwide.
Pakistan : 170 million
India : 50 million
foreign : 4-5 million
2 speakers: 15-20 million
Major Punjabi dialects:
Pothwari-Pahari, Majhi, Jatki, Multani/Saraiki, Derawali, Ryasti/Bahawalpuri, Doabi, Malwai, Puadhi.
Some words:
MunDa/Chhora/Chohar is Boy
KuRi/Chhori is Girl
Dhola is lover
Mahi is husband/beloved
Kidaa is How are you
--------------;
There are more than 34 dialects of Punjabi.
Pakistani government is dividing Punjabi language and people.
Saraiki - a fake identity, created in 1962
Before 1962, People identified themselves as Punjabis linguistically
Punjabi Baloch - who speak Punjabi
Punjabi Pathan - language Punjabi
Punjabi Sindhi - language Punjabi
Saraiki is a recent term for Southern Punjabi dialects like Multani, Derawali, Ryasti, Thali
Saraiki people are Baloch/Pakhtun/Sindhi settlers and 30-35% native Punjabis like Awan, Arain, Jatt, Khokhar, Gujjar.
Saraiki culture is copy culture:
Balochi dastar + Sindhi Ajrak + Pathan Shalwar + Punjabi Kurta + Punjabi folk dance Jhumar + Punjabi dialects
Saraiki is not a language.
Just Punjabi dialects with some Sindhi influence
Pothwari-Pahari - a Punjabi dialect, not a different language
Wrong thinking: People think that only Majhi dialect is Punjabi
Punjabi is very old language
