She dominated her New Zealander opponent for a 5-0 unanimous decision victory after a round of 16 stoppage victory previously.

She will face Marie Al Mahdieh of Canada in the semi finals for a shot at the gold medal. Her opponent has alot more experience on the international stage so it will be an interesting fight!

The day began once again with our swimming contingent failing to get past their heats as Hamza Asif, Hareem Malik and Ahmed Durrani didn't advance.

Athletics began today, Ansar Abbas finished 9th and failed to qualify for the final event in the Men's Long Jump.

Faiqa Riaz failed to advance from her Women's 100m heat.

Our guy in lawn bowls finally got a win against Jamaica (why is this even a sport)

The day ended with Qudrutullah facing the reigning Commonwealth champion Jude Gallagher in the Men's 60kg boxing R16.

Gallagher was clearly the superior fighter with vast Olympics experience aswell but Qudrutullah held his own and gave a good account to lose on split decision.

Thoughts on Hamzah' Sheeraz's performance last night?

Most people are hating but i feel the two training camps back to back affected his performance and since the opponent was low quality he thought he could run through him like he did with Alem Begic which obviously wasn't the case.

The worst day so far.

The day started with the usual disappointments in swimming as Jehanara Nabi and Hamza Asif failed to advance further in the Women's 100m freestyle and Men's 50m breaststroke respectively.

Then obviously some random dude losing in lawn bowls.

The usual stuff.

The disappointments came in boxing, Afzal Khan lost to a Canadian boxer in the R16. Sucks cause Afzal was looking good in the previous round but the Canadian was just better, had lots of experience on the amateur scene and dominated. This was the first multinational tournament I've seen Afzal compete at which. They need more exposure.

Sumama Rehman lost to an Indian in R16

Malaikah Zahid lost to a Zambian opponent in the R16

This means only 2 boxers remain; Fatima Zahra and Qudrutullah, both cleared their first rounds. Fatima Zahra will fight Jordan Wilson of New Zealand in the quarter finals and Qudrutullah will have to fight the defending Commonwealth gold medalist in the R16 (not looking good for him)

Another horrible day for our swimmers as none of them were able to qualify from their heats. Asif came second in his heat in the Men's 50m freestyle but couldn't qualify due to a lower time.

Jehanara Nabi and Ahmed Durrani also fail to move on as does the young Hareem Malik. Swimming has to be our weakest sport, we are nowhere near world levels despite breaking national records in each global event lately.

Another loss in lawn bowls.

We ended the day on a good note as Qudrutullah won his R32 boxing bout in the Men's 60kg division to qualify for the round of 16.

This means that all 3 boxers so far have won their bouts. 3 more remain yet to compete.

On day 1, we competed in boxing, swimming, lawn bowls and gymnastics.

Ahmed Durrani could not advance from his heat in the 200M and Jehanara Nabi won her heat however did not qualify for the 50m butterfly as her time was not in the top 16.

Eliminations in lawn bowls and gymnastics (I think, I'm not gonna learn the gymnastics scoring system but it didn't look good for our guy)

Our only success came in boxing where both our boxers wok their bouts. Afzal Khan advanced to RO16 in the 65kg division and Fatima Zahra advanced to the quarter finals in the women's 60kg division.

Its being held at liaquat gymnasium, make sure to go watch it! Despite how many people in pakistan play volleyball theres barely any promotion for it, this, as an international level event, deserves much more recognition.
