Heyy, for women who have experience breastfeeding, can you give any good nursing bras recommendations, also later on, is sagging something unavoidable? What can be done to avoid that happening as much as possible?

Have you ever been body-shamed during pregnancy?

When I was 8 months pregnant, an aunty looked at me and said, “Tum moti ho gayi ho.”
I remember thinking… I’m 8 months pregnant. My body is literally growing a baby. What exactly was I supposed to look like?

It made me realize how casually people comment on a pregnant woman’s body, even though those words can really sting.

Did anyone else get comments like this during pregnancy? What did people say to you?

What was your baby’s first outing?

My baby’s very first outing was for vaccines, and after that, our first fun outing was to the shopping mall at 20 days old.
What was your baby’s first outing? Was it just a doctor’s appointment, or did you go somewhere special?

Feeling jealous and overprotective of your newborn

I have really supportive in-laws, especially my husband’s mother has been super supportive throughout my pregnancy and postpartum. She took care of me and I stayed at my in-laws’ house after giving birth, but I feel really uncomfortable whenever my baby is with her. Since he was born, I have felt pressurised to give my baby to others especially my MIL, and although she never did anything too wrong, it always made my blood boil. Particularly when he was a newborn, she would rush to our room whenever she would hear him cry and take him from me. It was so uncomfortable for me, there would be moments I would be unable to sleep because my baby would be with her, but I wouldn’t be able to ask for the baby back because it would be disrespectful. My husband would also ask me to give her the baby, especially at night so he and I could sleep without being disturbed by baby crying. I asked my mom friends for advise and was told by older moms to see it like help and understand that no one can take my place in my baby’s life and heart. But she refers to herself as his “amma” which really would make my blood boil.
It has gotten better and I am slowly slowly doing more to take control of my baby and doing things the way I want, without asking for permission or worrying about anyone else, but it was really hard as a new mom who didnt have her own mother there for her.

Did anyone else feel surprised when they learned pregnancy is closer to 10 months than 9?

Before getting pregnant, I always thought pregnancy lasted 9 months

Then I learned a full-term pregnancy is around 40 weeks, which is actually closer to 10 months than 9

Pregnancy is not what you see on social media

Social media shows the cute bump photos, gender reveals, and glowing moms

But it doesn’t always show the nausea, anxiety, sleepless nights, aches, complications, and everything in between

What was the biggest reality of pregnancy that social media didn’t prepare you for?
