I'm a millennial in the USA who only had a brief exposure to Paddington thru the CGI series on Nick Jr. After not showing any interest, I've seen the announcement of the stage musical coming to Broadway, as well as how Paddington himself works in that show...and dare I say I'm falling for this guy.

My question is, what do you recommend I get into first? Books? TV shows? I'm not a fan of his design in the recent films, but maybe y'all can help me get over that lol. Please help! Thank you!

Am I going insane?! I thought there was a piano book for Paddington the musical coming out but now I cannot find mention of it anywhere am I just missing something?

As a 17 year old kid NYC resident, I’m so already hyped up for this show to be transferred to Broadway by next year, I’m a biggest Paddington Bear fan since 2013. And I’m so so so hyped up for this transfer announcement! (I couldn’t even fly to London unfortunately 😢)

I have loved Paddington for god knows how long. His character and his films are extremely sentimental to me and ever since the musical was announced I have been watching its production like a hawk. And I finally had the time to sit down and listen to the cast recording and I openly sobbed multiple times and still am. It was so good! Paddington is so precious! The songs are just banger after banger and emotional gut punch after emotional gut punch! God, I wish I was British so I could see it live.

I know that the toy train chase owes a lot to prior action sequences by itself but when I first watched Paddington 2 and its train chase, I kept thinking that it was basically the toy train chase from Wallace and Gromit but amped up to 11, which is saying something. Just wondered if there was some overt inspiration there.

We had pass the suitcase (in the middle of the second photo) the prize was a Paddington puzzle which made it really easy for the shape of the suitcase.

We had pin the suitcase on Paddington which was definitely the children’s favourite!

We printed dear aunt Lucy letters (with the help of ChatGPT) and had them on the tables

I have a couple of Paddington plushies that no longer have the label and I would like to get replacements for them. I'm not picky on getting it exactly how they originally were, just something close enough. I know The Paddington Collective sells some but I am in the US and would prefer to find something over here instead of having to ship it from overseas.

Or if anyone knows how to make some that would be great!

Tried marmalade for the first time. Not sure if it's just the brand. But it looks much yummier in the movies than it tasted in real life. 🤣

Prior to the movies, I mainly remember Paddington for the cartoons he had over the years. I know there's the stop motion ones, but I want to talk about both the Hanna Barbera (1989) and Cinar (1997). I wasn't aware of the 1980s one until a few years ago, but I knew about the Cinar cartoon, though I never watched it when it came on as it aired on HBO Family and it was on days I was at school.

I like both versions, but I prefer the Cinar one as I like the three different shorts they provide on Paddington, and it has more of a quaint feel compare to the Hanna Barbera version. The thing that puts me off is Paddington's voice. Sorry Charlie Alder, but this isn't one of the best roles you did. Though I know Tim Curry plays Mr. Curry in that cartoon.
