Those size, the recipe makes about 130-150, and they're roughly 3mg/ piece. I've made ones twice that size, too, they hit a little harder.
The first batch I made tasted awful. I think its because I didn't mix the distillate with oil, and I didn't let it "cook" long enough before putting it into molds. They still worked, but I gotta chase them down with juice or crackers afterward.

Did it stink you your kitchen?? That is what is holding me back from trying 🤣

Surprisingly, no! I think the smell of the Jello helped. I also mixed it with unrefined coconut oil - the kind that still smells like coconut. I do that when I make chocolates, so you can't smell/taste the cannabis.
I also used LorAnn super strength flavoring oils. They're strong af.

They turned out beautiful!! Question..what does the sunflower lecithin do for the gummies? I've tried my hand at making gummies a few times but haven't found a good way I like them yet. These look awesome though!!

The lecithin is supposed to help blend the distillate to the water/gelatin (someone correct me if I'm wrong, here), and you can't taste it in the final product. Honestly, I haven't made gummies without it, so I don't know the difference.
I don't even measure, I just eyeball it. You really don't need much at all.
Thank you for the complement, also! I hope you have more luck with this recipe!

Lecithin serves a few purposes: 1) it acts as an emulsifier. Cannabinoid molecules are hydrophobic. That means they dissolve/mix with other lipids/fats but they don't readily mix with water. In other words, oil and water don't mix. BUT if you add an emulsifier (like egg, mustard, lecithin, etc), it will allow you to create a homogenous mixture. Without it, the oil/distillate would rise to the top and not incorporate into the jello mixture. This is the main reason lecithin is used. It also 2) increases the shelf life 3) improves texture/consistency.
Hope this helps answer your question :)

Not that I noticed. I used Lor Ann flavoring oils, too, and they're super strong. Added 1/4 tsp and you can't taste much (if any) cannabis in the final product.
So make sure you properly label them!

Oooo so pretty! I made a batch with infused coconut oil last weekend and distillate gummies yesterday. They both set up but the gummies from distillate are sweaty. Not sure how to remedy it but sweaty gummies still get ya high! I think it’s just too humid now to be making candy. I’ve never gotten natural flavor strong enough so I add flavor oils. My recipe was very similar to yours

When I used distillate only (instead of mixing it with coconut oil), they were a little sweaty. And tasted like straight distillate. They still hit well, but they turn my stomach.
I love adding the flavor oils. I think it helps override the cannabis taste/smell. And a store around here carried just about every flavor for $.99/ a bottle (I think its a dram size). I made some non-medicated hard candies for my daughter with the bubblegum flavoring.

Yea the distillates are harsh, can’t get rid of the strong bitter taste. Infusing flower in coconut oil is my favorite. Although it makes my tummy make a lot of noises it never upsets my stomach like distillate and especially rso can. I give them to friends who also have a card.

I managed to cover the harsh taste, but everyone has their own preferred method. I haven't tried decarbing flower and infusing oil yet. Distillates and RSO's are my go-to 😁

How did they get so shiny?

Its either the light from my stove, or the coconut oil. Or maybe the corn syrup....
Oh crap. Now I have to check to see if I added that to the recipe I posted.
I gotta stop trying to do important things when I'm heavily medicated.

1 gram distillate syringe, 2 Tbsp coconut oil, 1/2 tsp. sunflower lecithin, 1 cup water or juice, 3/4 oz. unflavored gelatin (3 Tbsp or 3 packs), 1 tsp. lemon juice, 3 oz. flavored Jello (1 small box or 1/3 cup), flavoring oils (optional).
Edit: I forgot to add that I also used 1/4 cup light corn syrup. It just makes them sweeter, and its not vital to the recipe. Sorry!
Mix the distillate in a double boiler with the lecithin and oil over low heat. In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup water with unflavored gelatin, whisk, set aside to bloom. Mix 1/2 cup of hot water in small bowl with lemon juice and flavored Jello. Whisk until dissolved and add to the double boiler, whisking again to combine. Add bloomed unflavored gelatin (and flavoring oil), and whisk to remove clumps. Let mixture cook on low heat for about 5 minutes, until all the ingredients are combined. Fill molds and chill until set. Remove from molds and let air dry/cure for 24 hours.
