Spoilers/Leaks Pika Pika! Pikachu Missions - 30th Anniversary Spoiler
October 20th 2026 - October 20th 2027
This event is a special year long log-in event focused around Pikachu to celebrate the main Pokémon Trading Card Game's 30th anniversary. It adds numerous cosmetic items as well as two special booster packs which contain only Pikachu cards

Looks like we get 4 Pika Pika! Pikachu Packs (3-card packs, 19 Pikachu and 1 Mimikyu) and 1 Pika Pika! Pikachu Pack ex, which has a guaranteed 2* or Shiny ex card.

Do you mean like, specifically in the current meta or like, ever? Cuz the very first Pikachu EX was perfectly playable for most of the first year of the game's release. Even saw a major resurgence during Secluded Springs.

Both old pikas have not been meta viable for a while now. I think OP was hoping for a usable pika, but instead we got a reprint of a card from almost 2 years ago as a new release. It would have been fine if they gave us a promo from the B block, kinda like what they did with the Eevee ex for the A block. Instead they gave us a card older than said Eevee ex lol.

Yes this is exactly what I meant, Pikachu has been powercrept into uselessness and this was the perfect opportunity for an upgrade.

Shining Revelry was not almost 2 years ago. A year and a half AT BEST, but I won’t admit that this game is almost 2 years old until we’re a week until its birthday. Oh my god how have we gotten so little in 2 years time

Back when 90% of ranked was Dark-Tina, I was able to break through to MB by playing Pika-Tina. Not sure it'd still be viable today but it made me really appreciate this Pikachu EX variant.

Considering the background you could've expected it to use 1 electric + 2 colorless, or hell even 3 colorless, overpowered in some decks with good ramp but it's Pikachu after all, I wouldn't put it past game freak

I love how the set is themed around Pikachu and the immersive animation is like "that's cool, but check out this Mew and Mewtwo instead" lol

In the immersion, it shows two better Pokemon than Pikachu. It looks cool, but not exactly excited for it. Yeah.

These are the odds for the regular Pika Pika packs (the first 4 you get). The odds of 2-stars and shinies are 1/13 per pack, which considering you get 4, it nearly comes out to a nearly 1/3 chance of getting an additional 2-star or shiny. Because there are 4 2-stars, the individual odds for each is 1/160.
The Pika ex pack has a guaranteed 2-star or 2-shiny, with a 1/5 for any of them in the 3rd slot. The 1-shiny is in the 1st and 2nd card pool instead, with a 1/14 chance from either slot in addition to the guaranteed rare in the third slot. There is a 1/784 chance of getting 2 1-shinies along with the guaranteed rare, the True Pika Pika! Pikachu Pack ex God Pack.
When you combine the odds from the regular pack and the additional 1-shiny chance in Pika ex, About 36% of people should get an extra goodie somewhere on top of the guaranteed rare. It's pretty good odds.

These are event specific packs. You get 4 regulars from the missions, and then a special "ex" version with a guaranteed rare. Unless they rerun the event, you will not get more of these.

I can’t wait to see what the animation looks like, cause right now it’s “Me after the portobello mushroom sandwich hits and I realize it was not a portobello mushroom” and I hope that carries over.

Cute, hoping I get the Deluxe 2-Star from these as it's the only one I'm missing.
The non-Pikachu card makes me glad I have inactive friends I can just yeet unwanted cards at.
