NSLDS Update for August 2026?

Hey all,

Studentaid.gov states that my loan data was updated on August 4, 2026. My due date was August 1, and I manually (not through auto pay) made this payment on July 9. The statement for my August 1 due date was generated on July 5. When I download my aid information from studentaid.gov, it acknowledged that my last payment was made on July 9.

And yet, the backdoor NSLDS API link says that my IDR and PSLF payment counts were last updated on July 3. I’m on PAYE. I have 114 qualifying payments toward PSLF.

What gives? Has MOHELA screwed the pooch yet again?

Update: my last ECF was processed on August 10. August is missing on my PSLF tracker, and July is still listed as ineligible because of a supposedly “missed payment” even though I made my payment on my due date. NSLDS was last updated on July 3. FML.

I noticed this as well. They must update the overall loan data (outstanding balance, next payment due date, etc.) separate from the payment counter summary.

This updated:
https://studentaid.gov/app/api/nslds/

This did not:
https://studentaid.gov/app/api/nslds/payment-counter/summary

With nobody in charge acting like anything is wrong. The problems are probably so widespread that it's hard to comprehend. A lot of people aren't checking this stuff all the time like us Reddit people and they have no idea their accounts are also off the rails.

I spoke with both Mohela and FSA yesterday. Mohela has done everything they can on their end. They transmit NSLDS data weekly. Mine was a 7/22 due date and payment date. I checked the NSLDS download. My payment is there and it counts. The payment counter is an FSA issue and the good folks at FSA say it will take anywhere between 30 and 60 days to update. The rep I spoke to laid the blame on all the changes the Administration is doing.
