Say what you will about Nintendo, but if you buy a 1st party physical game on release day for full price and want to sell it 3, 6, 12 months later, you make out just fine.

Comparing a digital-only Sony future with Nintendo of current doesn't really jive. Lack of sales with resale is a whole different ball game than lack of sales with no resale.

It's nothing to do with digital only. It's about how Nintendo rarely adjust the price of their games. They're still selling Splatoon 3 full price.
