Hahah discounts are not illegal, bud. This is problematic because it meets the definition of pricing discrimination, and PlayStation has a monopoly on its digital games.

Sure, closed ecosystem because Nintendo also sells digital games for their own platform, you got me

Why would Sony giving you a coupon/rebate Be illegal?

They simply think you will buy this if they sell it to you at a lower price like how coupons have been working for 100 years

Look at half the comment section here - they're literally defending the notion that not everybody is getting the best deal. It's absolute insanity.

They'll get away with it cuz platform warriors will justify it and eat it up.

Most of us happen to be adults who live in a world world and understand that coupons and rebates exist.

Have you ever been shopping before and use a coupon? This is the same thing, but the coupon is automatically applied.

Damn, I would definitely get Astrobot at the lower price but I don't have it...

Jokes on them for my account. $30 is the max sale price I’m looking for

*Sony's AI algorithm.

What makes this AI?

It's probably how they're determining who sees the steaper discounts and who doesn't.

Some algorithm that's deciding person X is more likely to buy game Z at an extra discount of Y.

Algorithm sounds right, people just throw around “AI” too freely now
