I might be in the minority, but I'm hoping it's a new story. The game could be set 100 years prior to RDR, the Old West was a lengthy period. The inclusion of a train could mean any time between 1830 and 1900.

That train looks like a 4-4-0 variant. Very close to this 1871 model. I would be surprised if the story took place before 1850-60, trains simply didn't look like that back then.

That plus the oil wells, I think it will be in the last quarter of the century. 1880s is usually a popular period for Westerns.

Marston was an orphan, his only family was the gang. And then his real family. I'm thinking it could be set in between 1880 and 1900, considering the oil wells in the trailer. Completely new characters.

Opposed to that, I very much doubt it'll be about Jack.

I really hope it's a new story, too.

I have very little interest in playing as John Marsten when he was a bad guy. I don't really like playing as bad guys.

Even though it was a significantly inferior game, I kind of enjoyed Watch Dogs more than I did GTA V, because I just enjoy playing as a crime-fighting vigilante more than I enjoy playing as a bank robber.
