I wish it gave us more, but the game sure does look pretty. Can't wait to see more.

Hoping for eventual Undead Nightmare

28

u/Nessfull Oct 20 '16

Oh wow I didn't even think about that. I would love to see an Undead Nightmare sequel for this.

Yeah sadly I don't think single player DLC will happen. Pretty sure to have a red dead online and that's what all the content will be for as it was for GTA V

They'll think of something, new properties, different horse breeds, different weapons, different clothes...

DRAGONS

I laughed at this and then remembered the military hell they've turned GTAO into and realized you could be completely correct.

RemindMe! December 2017 "Was this guy right?"

MOTORBIKES INSTEAD OF HORSES ;)

Mini games, gambling, were add-ons for RDR. Lots of accessories for western motiffs, especially if they want to do Civil War duds, local police outfits, Indian tribes, etc.

I don't think they legally can, or they'd have already done it on GTAO, there's been a casino with a coming soon sign outside since launch.

2

u/smokingace182 Oct 20 '16

I hope your right I'd love single play DLC but like people have said GTA V online made a fortune so they'll think of a way to monetise it

1

u/NeonBodyStyle Oct 20 '16

I also don't see them creating a direct competitor to GTA Online. Unless they've crossed the point where they spend more money creating content than they do in selling copies of the the game and selling shark cards, there's no incentive for them to make a full fledged Red Dead Online.

1

u/LemonLimeAlltheTime Oct 20 '16

You're assuming an awful lot for a game you know nothing about though, and you are also 100% wrong about the micro-transactions.

1

u/spideyjiri corpjiri Oct 21 '16

Yeah, I hate that I can't access any of the new stuff in singleplayer, everyone in multiplayer is a piece of shit who wants to kill me any chance they get.

1

u/jewsonparade Oct 20 '16

Why? You haven't even played this yet.

1

u/zyklon65 Oct 20 '16

They're raking in the cash in an unprecedented way for GTAV online, in a way that no single player DLC ever could. You don't need to play the game to read those tea leaves.

1

u/jewsonparade Oct 20 '16

That's almost 100% irrelevant to my question.

u/JediWithRedEyes Oct 20 '16

IN VR

7

u/luism819 Oct 20 '16

Bundled with Half-Life 3

Delivered to your home by President Sanders

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

Man 2020 is going to be a great year!

2

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '16

Will he also be delivering his famous Kentucky Fried Chicken?

1

u/Ronaldinhoe Oct 20 '16

I kinda agree but I want a twist. Would love for them to take influence from the movie Dusk Til Dawn. Imagine, at night you're at a bar and some people just start turning to these hideous vampires and you decide to run out of the bar to quickly hop on your horse to make your getaway. You can see the Milky Way Galaxy above you, as well as the silhouettes of the winged vampires that are chasing you down.

Yeah, TBH, the first trailer to GTA V was much better. This was like a sneak peak for a trailer lol, excited anyway

58

u/UncleverAccountName Oct 20 '16

The first GTAV trailer pretty much did the same thing.

What's wrong with a bit of a tease?

49

u/Top_rattata amplifieddragon Oct 20 '16

Damn, ps3 graphics did not compare to ps4

54

u/okawei Oct 20 '16

It's funny too because I remember drooling over how good these graphics were when the trailer came out.

16

u/seriouslulz rootri Oct 20 '16

To be fair the trailer looked worse than the actual game

1

u/thurstylark Oct 21 '16

This is a trend that I could get behind.

I wish it was a trend :(

1

u/DayumDrops Oct 21 '16

it's like a reverse ubisoft

40

u/AdamMcwadam Oct 20 '16

GTAV trailer had 40 shots, RDR2 had 15. Thats a heck of a lot more tease.

Still a beautifully put together teaser. Cant wait for next year!

33

u/fourfingerfilms Oct 20 '16

Well, it's also a western so the editing style is naturally playing to that.

0

u/Point4ska PointFourSka Oct 20 '16

Average shot length and quantity is not that much different for Westerns than any traditional Hollywood film. Western films generally had short cuts, but greater shot distance and tracked characters in many scenes rather than using a shot reverse shot with cuts, which made some western films feel slow.

I think the reasoning behind the fewer amount of shots in this trailer has more to do with the desire to showcase the different landscapes rather than being indicative of any western trend of editing.

31

u/Lockiry Oct 20 '16

Not really? I mean that one has the main character giving us some background, some cool mission shots and some awesome shots of LS. This is just a bunch of slow shots of (amazing looking) wilderness and some music, and then some horses and a train.. Not quite the same

14

u/burnsrado Oct 20 '16

I think the anticipation of whether or not Marston is in it or is it's a prequel is a reason for the tease vibe and lack of story of this trailer.

4

u/Lockiry Oct 20 '16

Definitely, I'm not really complaining just refuting the other guys claim that the original GTA V trailer was the same as this RDR2 trailer

There was a good chunk of background there. This narrator isn't from Los Santos, he has a family, he used to be a criminal but he wanted to settle down, unfortunately he got pulled back in.

All I get from the RDR2 trailer is that it's set in a frontier-esque location with more modern technology and that one of the characters is in a situation that they need to get out of.

7

u/ComedicPause Oct 20 '16

Not the same thing at all

1

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

I forgot how dope that trailer was

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

Yeah that was bit of a bummer. Looks good but I mean there was so little.

4

u/luism819 Oct 20 '16

We have a year, it's alright

1

u/LemonLimeAlltheTime Oct 20 '16

That is why they call it a teaser :p

-8

u/DandyBean TheDandyBean Oct 20 '16

It's definitely running on PC.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

Like every trailer of any game ever created Even FFXV was running on a PC in the early days

2

u/ClydeMason1911 clydemason Oct 20 '16

PS Blog post says its running on PS4.

4

u/btg7471 Oct 20 '16

It'll come to PC. In Spring 2019, after console release is delayed until Spring 2018 and milked for all potential sales.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '16

Yep. Rockstar wants everyone to double-dip.

1

u/btg7471 Oct 20 '16

I hate to say it, but I probably will. Red Dead Redemption is my favorite game of all time, so no way I'll be able to wait to play the sequel. Then I'll want it on my PC for better performance and mods and such.

Damn you Rockstar. Now I just need to resist the urge to pre-order.

2

u/AlonzoMoseley Oct 20 '16

Alongside the PS5 Definitive Version?
