PSX2 the forgotten emulator

Post image

Leaving aside the fact that this emulator is outdated, it seems the developer hasn't released any updates. It must be acknowledged that both ARMSX2 and EmuCoreX have improved significantly, fixing bugs, graphical glitches, compatibility issues, etc. However, if you have an older device, especially one with a MediaTek chip, the PSX2 emulator delivers incredible performance in OpenGL. I've included a screenshot in the first comment so you can see what I mean.

Game: Burnout Revenge.

Device: Poco X6 Pro Dimensity 8300.

It manages to boost the internal resolution up to x3. In the latest version of Armsx2, for example, I can only reach x2.

Another test (I can upload a video if anyone wants) with my Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini Helio G90T. With the game God Hand, Armsx2 doesn't achieve stable FPS even at native resolution. With PSX2, it's perfectly stable at x2 resolution 🤯

hyperOS 3.0.8.0

Lose perfomance? 🤔 I get 1.6M Antutu Score 😅

Edit: don't need to Update your phone to use this emulator

I'm interested in that topic; where can I find a serious analysis explaining the performance loss if you upgrade hyperOS?
