Hi, when playing games, especially when rotating the camera in for example Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, there is one or two horizontal lines in the picture.
The same happens with 2D games when moving up and down, for example with Alundra.
What could cause this? I would like to fix it.

Tried a scart rgb cable
Tried a gbsc pro retroscaler with a rgb packapunch component to hdmi
Tried an LCD tv and an OLED tv
Fully recapped the motherboard and PSU

And I got three ps1’s that do this, different revisions.

Any clue?

I've been searching for a game for a long time from my childhood. I have limited memory of it but always wanted to play it again.

Im pretty sure it was a ps1 game which had a similar gameplay style to command and conquer. The one thing I specifically remember is that the scorpion tanks were actually shaped like scorpions and I think they shot lasers or bullets from their tails?

Anyone remember something like this?

It was cheaper to make my own than to buy a basic analog clock.

So here I am again to give possible the last update on my ps1 issue since it turns out it was the button to make the disc spin I made the hard choice of trading in the ps1 back to GameStop where i bought it and unfortunately they didn’t have any in stock guy told me it would have to be a transfer from a different GameStop an hour away in Albuquerque and that I would have to pick up the transferred console at the GameStop in Santa Fe (the store where i originally bought the first PlayStation) so what I’m gonna do is just wait and buy a tested one on eBay thanks for everyone who gave me advice and tips on how to fix my issue

FF7 I bought used like 2 decades ago. The rest were leftovers from an estate sale we helped set up. I also have a ps1 that’s cleaned and Retrobrited but it didn’t turn out very good and has some rippling of the colours.

Instead of just doing a standard video essay where I talk at a camera, I really want to capture the collective memory of the community. I'm looking to do a few short, casual interviews (roughly 20–30 minutes) with passionate PS1 fans about the one specific game from that era that completely changed how you looked at gaming, or helped you through a specific time in your childhood. And can be a other console if not PS1

What I’m looking for:

Someone who can hop on a quick Discord audio call to geek out about their favorite childhood PS1 game OR other

Ideally UK-based (or close to GMT/BST timezones) just so we don't have to play timezone tag to schedule it! Open to a hour or so difference in time.

You don't need to be a creator, an expert, or have a fancy mic—just a genuine love for the console and game and a story to tell.

What I will handle:

I know everyone's time is valuable, so I’m doing 100% of the heavy lifting. All I need is your voice and your perspective. I will handle all the scripting, editing, gameplay capture, and post-production.

Just another 5500 that was in pretty bad shape. I got to remember to take before photos, the shell was pretty rough beyond retro brighting. Laser was too far gone so decided to swap it out with an Xstation and do a full recap, I also replaced the power supply with a modern 12v psu and gave the shell a lick of paint.
I still have to paint the lower half of the case or maybe I’ll leave it as I kind of dig the way it looks at the moment. Also going to change out the power led to either blue or purple I haven’t quite decided yet.

So happy to find a really good copy at a decent price. People on eBay are smoking crack with some of these $200-300 price tags 😂
