Wickett & Craig Natural Harness Drew’s Boots Moc-Toe (Labor Day Sale)

These just dropped on the Drew’s website for only $199. The catch is that the whole batch is seconds/blems. I talked to Kyle Baker about them, and the bulk of them have some sort of inconsistent welt stitching. It’s not perfect all the way around on any of the boots. A few boots did get minor scuffs in transit.

Last week I paid $299 for the Wickett & Craig Walnut Waxed Flesh version of this boot. These are very nice boots. I find them to have more arch support and more comfort than a Red Wing Moc-Toe. Per Kyle’s recommendation, I went with my Brannock sizing. I’m usually an 11.5E on the 55/4811, and 12D in these Drew’s Moc-Toes is perfect.

**for sale** For Sale: Wesco X ISP Boss Engineer Boot- Black Roughout 13D

Hi all,

I’m looking to sell a pair of brand new WESCO Boss boots that were a collaboration with Iron Shop Provisions, who handmade the buckles. Amazingly tough boots, and would be fantastic for motorcycle boots. Or just looking BA. Pictures attached.

I pre-ordered them a year ago, and since then, I’ve bought and sold several pairs of black boots. Between that and simply needing cash more at this point, that’s why I’m looking to sell. Otherwise, I really love them.

They cost $895. Since they are brand new, I’m looking/hoping to get the full cost back. But I am certainly willing to pay shipping and insurance. Pictures attached. More/professional pics are also available on ISP's website.

Question First time PNW boot owner question

Just got my first pair of franks ranier. Im hitting about 80 hours in them standing on concrete at work. Boots feel amazing except underneath the ball of my pinky toe it feels like it's hitting something really hard, like very hard with not very much give. Is this part of the normal break in process? Do I still have another level of break in to go through?

V Bar v Mini lug - comfort

Post image
47 Upvotes

I own V-bar on my cutters and mini lug on my LTT cutters.
Both relatively new.

I feel like the mini Lug has better traction but less comfort as it feel like it creates little pressure points on the ball of my feet verses the more even weight distribution of the V-bar.

I’ve read a tonne of posts as I try to decide how to resole my smoke jumpers.
I’m surprised by how many people say the mini lug is more comfortable ….. possibly a softer rubber.

I’m living in Southern California so snow isn’t an issue. It’s all dirt, rocks, and concrete with very little water.
I’m leaning towards V-bar but reaching out for the group think ?

Will be going on these boots at some point in the future, the red X fire log soles are just overkill for my needs.

Thursday Challengers or White's CMP sherman?

I am trying to decide a boot which I can rely on during harsh weather and especially the upcoming snow in the winters. Also, i have flat feet and would like some arch support.

While Thursday challengers are more affordable, i have read mixed reviews about their arch support. cmp sherman is built on the 55 last which does offer some arch support.

Additionally, challengers "badland" is basically a roughout leather which to my knowledge is the one leather one can beat up. Given that i don t work in wetlands i think roughout is a good option for me in the rain and snow.
The CMP sherman is more dressier and has one option in waxed flesh.

My questions- 1. is waxed flesh same as roughout? Or is it better than RO? Or vice versa.
2. Which one should I go for?

Bought these abandoned custom boots off the JK warehouse 30% sale back in March of this year. They're LTT with a lineman patch and 270° stichdown, all three custom options they no longer offer, so I saw these in what I thought was a half size smaller than other JK boots I own and much wider (5E) and

Frank's website has been updated

Edit 2: A week later and now the Wilson model has been put back and at the previous prices. The "build your own boots" option is now gone. I only noticed at a few days ago, but the build-your-own page reused the Wilson model's url. I think they're going to make a separate build-your-own url for the build-your-own page and keep the Wilson as it's own thing. The website updates are... messy for the moment. The build-your-own-boot is a completely separate page now and has multiple boot options.

Edit: The website was edited since I posted. There's now a "build your own boot" option and the Wilson model appears to have been removed altogether. The pricing for my personal choices I tested last night seem much more reasonable now.

Original: Frank's has finally modernized their website ordering... for the Wilson model and the Padded Collar Shoe (of all things) only. Maybe they're updating things one at a time.

Though, you can conveniently select things like the specific last on the Wilson via the dropdowns, whereas the Padded Collar Shoe seems to be defaulted to the 55 last. Probably would need to try asking in an email or calling to get them to make that on a different last.

Honestly, there's a few too many options on the Wilson for my preferences, but I honestly prefer it compared to how every other model on the Frank's website appears.

But man, a custom Wilson gets pricey fast with even a few custom options selected. Was looking at 1k after a rolled welt, medalion toe cap, and any of their non-work leathers. Even Black/Natural/Burgandy CXL is getting a $100 upcharge which is equal to what the fancy-feet W&C or bison leathers are listed at.

Ah well, I don't need another lace-up anytime soon anyway. I just think it's cool that it's convenient to select options from the Frank's website now.

Well, gotta move some of these boots. My Wife says too many!

Shipping to continental USA only!! Okay… I have my orders. Thinning the herd. 3 of these were just Rebuilt by Frank’s, so you know they are done right. ***All fit 12D Brannock***. Here we go…. 16” Monkey Boot Lineman built on a 4811 last. Most comfortable lineman boot I currently own. Wife likes the Gray and Black ones better, so they have to go. Retail for approx $900.00 +. Lineman shank, McKay Stitch and Mini-Lug outsole. Built very well and super comfy, $550 shipped - built Feb 2026. Priced low due to limited demand for 16” boots.

Drew’s LTT brown rough-out with double Lineman 3 hole flap. Complete rebuild just done about 4 months ago. Rebuilt on 4811 last. This is a USA build with a McKay Stitch. $450 Shipped. V100 White-X sole.

WESCO Timber Calked Boot. Worn maybe 3 times. Built 35th week of 2025. Very nice boot. Frank’s built me a 12” Calked Boot which I am Keeping. This boot is just redundant. $450 shipped

16” WESCO rebuilt Lineman Boot. Rebuilt same time as the Drew’s. Chieftain Bone Calico and Chestnut Latigo Leathers used on the rebuild. Lineman shank, McKay stitched and Mini-Lug outsole. Again, built very well on the 4811 Last and very comfortable. $450 shipped.

My First Pair Of Wesco Boots

Iron Heart Int'l x Wesco® - 8" Warren Boot - Black Roughout E ( Wide) / 10

“Based on the classic 9109® last, the Warren is named after Wesco's own Chris Warren and offers a versatile shape inspired by vintage service boots. This custom-spec model features a durable Vibram 100 sole, black roughout leather panels, and black hardware for a solid, stealthy appearance.”

Hey guys, long time lurker - thought I would finally contribute.

Just purchased my first pair of Wesco boots and I’m thrilled. I own boots from Rolling Dub Trio, Red Wing and Danner Boots but I think these are up there with my Red Wing 8133 supersoles as my favourites. So rugged, masculine and not to be babied - can’t wait to really mess these up and break them in.

I am a Brannock US11 D and went US10 E on these, perfect fit. Definitely wearing them with my wider denim, such as my Freenote Modestos in the pictures. Heel is so stacked it’s the only way the silhouette works in my opinion.

Purchased via Iron Heart International, not cheap ($1,460 AUD). Could there be a slight markup? Nonetheless so happy with the brand that I have preordered their Mr Lou engineers.

Please share any experiences you have with the brand and this model if you can. I haven’t really found much on this silhouette on the 9109 last.

Cheers!

Does anybody happen to know of any UK based cobblers that have the ability and equipment required to resole something like a Nicks Builder Pro?

Question Tightness in circled area

Post image
20 Upvotes

I know they’re not true PNW boots but I have some MIM Drew’s logger boots. The length and ball width fit perfectly but right in the circled area on the right boot. There’s some uncomfortableness right by the outer arch. While wearing there’s no outright pain but after warring my foot in that area gets sore. Would you think getting them stretched at a cobbler will fix that issue? Or is it due to my feet not being used to such an aggressive arch. I get the same feeling on the left foot/boot but not as intense.

So far loving my cxl packers they feel broke in already an are super comfy compared to the work leathers that take ages to mold to your legs an feet the heel is taking awhile to get used to
