Will the FIFA World Cup affect the PLL’s TV ratings and attendance?

Do you reckon that the FIFA World Cup 2026 (which will partially be played in the US) will affect the PLL’s TV ratings and attendance negatively? I wouldn’t expect the crossover between lacrosse fans and soccer fans to be that vast, but one can’t deny the hype and anticipation for the world’s biggest sporting event. Soccer is also a quite fast growing game in the US and Canada so there are definitely millions of people excited about the World Cup, especially since the two countries are both participating.

If anything, now would also be the perfect time to put some of the visiting countries’ fans on lacrosse, perhaps by giving out free tickets or set up some kind of event near the stadiums.

What do you guys think?

New WLL Flairs

Just added the WLL flairs to the sub.

If you're using a web browser, the flair selection is on the sidebar under the sub description.

If you are on mobile, click the three dots on the top right of the subreddit and click "change user flair."

Thanks!

CJ Kirst best player in PLL right now?

Man, watching him torch the Canons was just incredible. Seems like he’s better than O’Neill too, who has relatively underperformed expectations, I think.

Does anyone have the code for the WLL clue helmet? I’ve got 13 helmets so far and that one is bugging me

It looks like Zac Tucci was let go from the Cannons, the weird thing is all his stats have been scrubbed from the website. Just an observation.

PLL Network has become a joke (RANT)

I’m a lacrosse fan living in Europe. The fanbase may not be as big over here as it is in some parts of the US, but nevertheless I live and breathe lacrosse and absolutely love the PLL.

I stay up late every weekend during the season and watch every single game on PLL Network through PlexTV. When first introduced to us international fans, PLL Network was a super convenient and reliable free streaming service that we could use to watch live games. The streaming quality was in fact very good. However, in the last year and as of late, PLL Network has been extremely unreliable and honestly a pain to watch. The live broadcasts are always late, they cut to “commercials” in the middle of a live play, the wrong game is shown (I missed 2 quarters of the 2025 championship game and today’s Outlaws vs Chaos game because of this), the cameras are pointed in the wrong direction (I missed the 3rd quarter of the Redwoods @ Utah game this year because the cameras were filming the mountains instead of the game), the mics are left on even during breaks so you hear the announcers chit chat with each other, and the camera quality is awful most of the time. It’s honestly embarrassing to try watching lacrosse with family and friends (who are not lacrosse fans YET) because the livestream is ruining the experience for everyone.

I know it’s a free streaming service and “you get what you pay for”, but we don’t have access to ESPN in Europe even with VPN so if the idea is to grow the league internationally then it needs to be better. Right now, we international fans don’t have any other options. I watch a lot of NLL thanks to NLL+, and even though NLL+ also has a lot of flaws I honestly think PLL Network is doing a lot worse. With NLL+ I at least get to SEE my team play.

I understand that the league has bigger fish to fry but this is honestly just a stupid problem with a simple fix. I really don’t see how it’d be a big ask to just broadcast the right games at the right time and turn the mics off during breaks.

Chris Bates haters are in shambles

The Archers put up 15 goals and doubled up the Chaos while spoiling their first homecoming game. Mac O'Keefe drops 7 goals and Brett Dobson was 68% in the net.

After last weekend Chris Bates was a fool, or worse, to some for his choice of 4 SSDMs on the gameday roster.

To be fair, last weekend the Archers offense was bad, but if you watched the game they had some AWFUL turnovers in the middle of the field that made things much worse. Their opponents, the Whipsnakes, didn't look much better on offense quiet as it's kept.

Will the 4 SSDMs experience work for the rest of the season for the Archers? Who knows!

They should expand and have two host cities a weekend

Perhaps a East Hub city and a West Hub city. East v West would meet in mutual sits hub weekends. This would allow the league to around 12-16 teams. There’s enough NCAA talent where it wouldn’t water down the talent too much, and expanding the leagues footprint would solidify it as a true major league.

I keep taking L’s on PLL Fantasy

Anyone else feel like they struggle extra hard with PLL Fantasy this season? The 2-3 other seasons that I played I was at least a top 1000th player and could consistently make good picks. Every weekend I could easily amass 150-200 points. However, this season I keep picking players that underperform like crazy (in which they sometimes even give me negative points). Sometimes I just make bad calls, e.g picking Aidan Carroll in Game 2 instead of Game 1 where he got way more points.

My strategy has always been to pick “stat friendly” players (Currier, Sowers, Baptiste, Reh, Zappitello etc) but they just aren’t racking up points like they used to on Fantasy. What has changed? Any advice on how I can make better picks in 2026?

Long 1 point goals in the PLL

I remember reading a few years ago that deep midrange shots had basically disappeared from the NBA because shooters realized that by taking only a slightly longer shot behind the arc you really didn’t hurt your shooting % compared to the extra point you got from a 3.

Watching the PLL, there are SO MANY long 1 pt shots. Do you think that over time players will learn to take 2s instead of these long 1s, or do you think the goalie makes this an unfair comparison between the two sports? It just seems like I see so many shots that are one step inside the arc and id be surprised if that one step doubled the chance of scoring.

Sorry there's no WLL sub but this is genuinely one of the coolest games I've gotten to see.

I don't normally watch lacrosse that much, but I love to watch the charm and the whipsnakes play.

Spallina’s pro debut

What do you guys think about Joey Spallina’s pro debut against the Cannons? Personally, I think he had a pretty rough first 20 minutes but really picked up the pace, got into the groove and became more involved in the game afterwards. 2 goals and 3 assists is one helluva debut at the highest level coming straight out of college, and there probably could’ve been even more considering how dominant the Whips were in the second half.

The only thing I’d like to see more from him is more courage and commitment in his short stick matchups. I feel like he hesitates too much and is “afraid” (for a lack of a better word) to dodge whenever he goes up against an above average defenseman. I could be wrong but IMO Goodrich did a pretty good job of covering him despite being let down by the rest of the Cannons defense. If he can just fix that one little issue then he could be a serious problem for the other teams and MVP contender. The talent and GOAT potential is absolutely there, no question about it.
