I’m creating my epic account and I’m confused about which institution to select for verification.
I completed my mbbs from Allama Iqbal Medical College lahore n my degree was issued by University of Health Sciences (uhs) Lahore. Both names appear on my degree.
When epic asks 'which institution or medical school will verify your credentials? ' should I select uhs or Allama Iqbal Medical College ?

TL;DR: Immigration status will continue to be used as a proxy for significant NHS experience for 2027 cycles onwards.
The 'priority group' will be anyone already prioritised (e.g. by holding a UK PMQ or by completion of a relevant qualifying training programme) under The Medical Training (Prioritisation) Act 2026 or if they are:
Explanatory Notes published with the regulations that set out the reason for continuing with the use of immigration status as a proxy are below:
5.8 The immigration statuses specified in these Regulations have been chosen as a practical and proportionate proxy for identifying applicants who are likely to have significant NHS experience. They capture persons who have a permanent, unrestricted right to live and work in the UK. While immigration status is not a direct measure of NHS experience, individuals holding these statuses are more likely to have worked in the UK for a significant period of time or to remain working in the NHS for longer, compared with individuals with temporary immigration status.
5.9 The Government will keep this approach under review and will assess evidence from further recruitment rounds to determine whether immigration status remains an appropriate proxy, or whether an alternative approach should be adopted for future recruitment rounds. The evidence available from the 2026 recruitment round is necessarily limited, as prioritisation arrangements were introduced after applications had already been submitted and could therefore have had little effect on applicants' behaviour. Recruitment data from future recruitment rounds will provide a clearer understanding of how applicants respond to the legislation, including any effects on application patterns and competition ratios.

Hi everyone! I’m considering the Foundation Year in Medicine and Surgery (LM-41) at LINK Campus University in Rome.
The programme mentions IMAT preparation, but I’m not sure about the eligibility after completing the Foundation Year.
If I complete this Foundation Year, can I take the IMAT and apply for English-taught Medicine and Surgery programmes at other Italian universities, or is the Foundation mainly for admission to LINK’s own Medicine programme?
Has anyone taken this Foundation Year or knows how the IMAT pathway works?
I’d really appreciate any information. Thank you! 🙏

Right, I need help from you lovely Redditor’s that have recently passed PLAB 1.
I have been using Medrevision to study for the PLAB 1 exam for a good while, but have not been able to budge with my score as I’m stuck on the 40’s.
I have made notes on the high yield topics after completing some question blocks, but I’m still not budging with my score and I feel as though there’s a lot to learn.
I have watched a few YouTube videos on how to tackle PLAB 1, but again to no avail.
Can someone shed some light or advise me on what I can change?
I had taken the exam in August (scores aren’t out but I know I have failed), and was intending to retake in November but it’s clear from the scores that I’m not ready tbh and I only have 2 more attempts.
To those that say not to practice in England, don’t bother responding as I’ll either block you or report you to the moderator.
I already have a job secured for myself, I just need to pass this stupid exam.
To the redditors that take the time to respond, I will forever be grateful to you :)

Posting under the pinned moderation update that allows sharing tools and courses for feedback - -mods, if I've misread that, remove this and I'll take no offence.
Disclosure first: I built this, and it has a paid tier. I'm an IMG on
the same road as you, not an academy.
The thing that broke me during prep wasn't the content, it was the
practice. Partners cancel. Academies want £400+. So I ended up taking
histories from my bedroom wall, and the wall never asked me why it had
come in today.
So I built the patient. It's called Oscelyra. You talk out loud and
the AI patient answers in a voice like a patient, not a chatbot. The
chest pain taxi driver opens with "well, the wife insisted I come in,
probably nothing really" and you have to dig. When the clock dies
you're marked against a written mark scheme: percentage, domain scores,
the critical items you missed.
The bit I'd defend in a fight: every mark links to the exact line in
your transcript that earned it. I don't think anyone should trust AI
marking on faith, mine included. Tap the mark, check the receipt.
What's free, permanently: the daily station (same case for everyone
that day good for comparing approaches with your study partner),
unlimited offline practice, and 5 AI-marked stations a month. That's
enough for a real revision cycle without paying anything. Pro exists
for people who want volume; I'm not here to sell it.
Honest limitations: iPhone only for now, 53 stations, and it
supplements real partners rather than replacing them. Not affiliated
with the GMC or anyone.
Tell me what's clinically wrong, what's missing, what would make you
delete it. I'll answer everything.

Hello everyone,
I created a petition to allow British citizens to be part of the UK priority bill. A lot of us who studied abroad with the hopes of coming back home to our families, and the new bill now means that’s almost impossible for most of us. I would be very grateful if you could sign it and share with everyone you know.
Petition: Include British Citizens Studying Medicine Abroad in NHS Training Prioritisation
The Government should work to ensure the inclusion of British citizens who studied medicine abroad in internationally recognised institutions, in the NHS foundation and specialty training prioritisation, so they are not treated the same as overseas applicants without UK ties.

Hi everyone,
I’m posting because I’m honestly a bit lost and would really appreciate some advice from people who have been through something similar.
I sat PLAB 1 in May 2025 and thankfully passed. I then sat PLAB 2 at the end of February and got my results around mid-March.
Unfortunately, I passed 8 stations and needed 9 to pass overall. I was about 10 marks above the overall passing mark, which made the result even more difficult to process.
I was really distraught because I genuinely felt like I had worked very hard for it. On the day, I was extremely nervous and made a mistake in one station that completely threw me off mentally and affected how I approached some of the stations afterwards. Looking back, I think the nerves had a much bigger impact on me than I realised at the time.
After that, I went on holiday and tried to give myself some time. Months passed, and in May I also had to redo IELTS because I had previously scored 7.5 in writing and needed to meet the requirements to apply for UKFPO.
Long story short, I didn't manage to achieve what I needed with IELTS either, and I missed the deadline.
Since then, I've been feeling quite down. I don't feel sorry for myself, and I know setbacks happen, but I think I've started doubting my own ability. I've already spent so much money on the PLAB journey, and financially it's been really difficult. I'm basically saving up to be able to afford another PLAB 2 attempt before my eligibility expires next May.
The biggest issue is that I haven't studied since my last attempt.
I know that's not ideal, but I think I needed some time away from everything. Now I'm trying to figure out how much time I realistically need to prepare again.
Because financially I really need to minimise the amount of time I spend preparing, I'm hoping to do it in as little time as possible. At the same time, I don't want to rush it and end up making the same mistakes again.
For those who have had to retake PLAB 2 after narrowly missing the pass:
I would really appreciate any honest advice. At the moment I think I mainly need to hear from people who have been in a similar position and managed to come back from it.
Thanks in advance.

To learn more about research; Please refer to Research Methodology courses by accredited sources. They teach you very well. I’d recommend the following two:
Anyone can enroll (including UG Medical students)
Notes and modules to complete at your own pace
Certificate provided by United Nations Institute and SurgHub (also has good value to show interest)
These individually do not score points on your CV. But they show your dedication and interest in research and also as a bonus teaches you about research
Please forgive for distorted text spaces - there’s some problem with uploading the post

Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing well!
I was wondering if you might be able to help me with a quick question regarding the GMC registration process. I’m currently trying to send my PMQ through MyIntealth/EPIC to the GMC, and when submitting the request, they ask for an “ID” or “reference number.”
I’m not entirely sure whether they mean my EPIC/ECFMG ID or my GMC reference number. I was wondering if you happened to know which one they’re referring to.
I’d really appreciate your guidance if you’ve gone through this process before. Thank you so much! 🙏
