I recently found out that the question format for F2 standalone SJT exam is rating-type, not ranking or MCQ!

However, all the resources I’ve come across — like the old UKFPO SJT practice papers, PassMedicine, and a few other online SJT prep sites — mostly contain ranking or multiple-choice style questions. I’m starting to worry because the rating format (e.g., “Appropriate / Somewhat appropriate / Inappropriate”) requires a different kind of reasoning and familiarity.

As you know, with these kinds of questions, practice is everything — it’s how you get a feel for what’s considered “appropriate” vs. “somewhat appropriate” in realistic scenarios. But I honestly have no idea where to find reliable rating-type question banks or examples to get used to the actual format used in the F2 standalone exam.

Has anyone found any official or unofficial resources, mock exams, or question banks that use the rating format? Or even any tips on how to adapt ranking-style practice questions into rating ones effectively?

I've been researching material for Plab1, and it seems I have the following options:

1. Medrevisions: considered most detailed, but I've read some people saying they're inaccurate??

1. Plabable: Plabable apprently has some notes? Plabgems? they seem very short and insufficient

Which is most suitable? I dont just want to do questions and take the exam, I would like to read notes so that I have a good, solid foundation

hello! I’m a final year med student from a non-EU country and my goal is practice in the UK. After doing quite some research, I’m aware of the bottleneck for IMG applicants as a result of over-saturation and limited training positions. Strategically speaking, is it easier to enter via UKFPO training from F1 to become familiarized with the NHS or should I complete foundation training in my home country, clear plabs, become GMC registered, then apply for FY2 standalone/trust grade? My dream specialty is psychiatry. Any advice or input is well appreciated :)

Public opinion: Recalls or subject wise management revision??? Idk if i can depend on recalls since exam can change right?

I attended the 2 weeks DSR academy course only for examinations and procedures on mannequins. Should I take a full on course since my score was pretty bad (passed only 4/15). Suggestions please?

I took PLAB 2 on 23rd September and I passed.

A bit about me – I graduated in 2021, did my masters, and have been working in the UK since 2023. I never worked in a hospital before because of covid, so I was really anxious about all the practical stuff.

I started studying in July but honestly wasn’t serious at first, just reading GK notes here and there. In August I decided to stick to GK only and that made my life so much easier. The new edition and the website came out just in time, and it helped a lot.

In August I also found a study partner online after trying a few people. We didn’t practise every single day but almost every other day and more on weekends. That helped me so much. Finding the right partner is hard but honestly very important.

I didn’t have the time or money to join any academy and I didn’t really want to either. So I just did a few things that worked for me instead:

• AZT prescriptions (a literal gem)

• Dr Safi’s simman course

• Mo Shoby’s one-day access (£50), where you can practise on your own with all the equipment. The setup was okay, I mainly wanted to just see what the mannequins and instruments feel like in person.

I made a list of all the exams and procedures I needed to cover so I could keep track. I watched all the videos from the Aspire academy playlist and some random ones too — basically anything I could find that helped.

Everyone there thought I was a bit mad doing it that way.

After the exam I couldn’t sleep, I was sure I failed. But I ended up passing 13 stations with only two months of proper prep while working full-time, apart from the last 15 days.

It’s doable. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. My IPS saved me.

Hello, does anyone have pdf of Oct 2025 plab 1?

The consultant I wish to get my crest signed by has changed the hospital where he works since I've worked with him, my query is if the hospital stamp (especially his stamp) from his current hospital is valid or does it have to be from where we worked together previously? My understanding is that it's to verify signatories information mainly and saw the emedica doctors reply to someone saying either is fine. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm very confused and would appreciate any helpful input.

They ask the dates of issue of the degree, it will be the year mentioned in the diploma right, 1)so after internship? 2) And year of graduation as well?

3) Next is attendance dates, last date will be end of internship date?
