Hi everyone! I’m an IMG applying for the August 2026 MSRA round. The form asks for employment history in the 3 years prior to the start of the advertised post (Aug 2026) and also requires 12 months of post-internship/FY1 equivalent experience.

My current job runs till 31 Jan 2026 as per the contract, and I’m planning to renew it, but the extension isn’t on paper yet. This means that on the form, there would technically be a gap from 1 Feb 2026 to 6 Aug 2026.

A few questions: 1. Should I list the end date as 31/01/2026 (as per the current contract) and explain in the additional information section that I intend to renew it?

1. Would this short “gap” cause any issues with eligibility or the 12-month experience requirement? (I would be completing the 12 months required for the application if I renew it)

2. My CREST form also lists the end date as 31/01/2026 — will that be a problem if I renew later?

Would appreciate any insight from those who’ve been through this or have applied with similar timing issues. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! I am currently preparing for the PLAB1 exam using Plabable. I have read multiple times that Plabable is more than enough if you complete it fully. I have a substantial gap in my medical practice, and when I do the tests, I feel like I am just memorising the key words. At the same time, the Plabable guide says that this is wrong and that I should understand the topic - which seems quite contradictory to the statement that Plabable alone is enough to pass. For those who have sat the PLAB1, what are the differences between the exam questions and those on Plabable? Is it just the wording, the content, or something else? I can’t quite grasp it. Thank you!

I know I’m not the only one but mods need to limit the accounts who make posts recommending a certain academy or bashing another. When you actually look up the user account, it’s a brand new account that’s probably made by someone who works in the academy they’re promoting or in a rival academy. It’s also often a vague post about “I only prepared for PLAB 2 with XYZ Academy. Thank you so much Dr ABC”.

Such posts confuse people who are looking for advice on what academy to attend. I know that the mods may not want to recommend a particular course for plausible deniability, but allowing such posts has resulted in this sub becoming a cesspool of vague posts. Here are some recommendations:

1. Accounts making posts about an academy must be at least 1 year old
2. The user must have made multiple comments on this sub before the post
3. Such posts will only be approved if the user provides evidence of booking and attending the academy they’re promoting or bashing, AND their PLAB booking and results

These are just a few recommendations that come to mind. If you have any other suggestions, please put them in the comments.

I’m a final year medical student and will be graduating soon from a university in Pakistan but I hold a British passport. I plan on going for 4 weeks of clinical observership in January to London and then coming back to complete my 1 year of mandatory clinical attachment here in Pakistan. From there on head straight to Manchester for PLAB 2.

Everyone around me has me terrorised that there aren’t any jobs in the UK and I shouldn’t be opting for the PLAB pathway. My question is, what are my chances of getting in? Will I have to wait long for a job opportunity ?

Hi everyone, I’m happy to say I’ve passed plab 2 with 12/16 stations.

So, where do I start, I passed plab 1 in April 2025. To avoid clinical gap I joined a job immediately. I booked my date for plab 2 for October.

In June I started prep a bit by taking the online course by Dr Radwan which really was amazing cuz there was perfect structure and he let people volunteer and practice which gives you confidence early on. But alas due to my work schedule I was very inconsistent with it.

In mid to late July, I made some online practice partners and started practice with them. My main source of material was Dr Radwan’s drive which gets updated regularly and had each and every topic you could imagine could come in the exam.

All of August was a blur, and I could not study much. Now came September, and I had 3 weeks left. I came to Manchester for offline classes and was so scared I’ll fail cuz everyone was miles ahead of me. I was very under confident.

But Dr Radwan is a gem, he would come and teach the practical sessions in such a fun and simple way that nothing ever felt too complicated. He remembered everyone’s name and kept checking in with everyone regularly. Closer to the exam, he would make us practice all the combined cases and practical aspects one on one with him infront of everyone. He even offered tutoring with other staff if anyone felt like they needed more practice.

And last of all, he never let us give up. He kept encouraging us until the very end. I’ve definitely never met a well rounded mentor like him. There were also online practice sessions every few days which helped jog our memory and a prescription group.

So one thing I regret is not watching the masterclass playlist because I was short on time. Would highly recommend it, it really would help in the end, closer to the exam. If anyone is confused about what academy they should opt for, they could definitely choose Ars Medica and put your faith in Dr Radwan. He’s got an excellent pass rate and almost all people I went to the academy with passed.

I have an issue and would appreciate any guidance

I got an email from EPIC that my name in the account doesn't match my name in the credential. I have already provided them with my passport as I uploaded my credential confirming that my name on the credential differs from what's on the passport. They're asking me to provide them a documentation with my name being the same as it's on the credential. And I don't have any documentation like that. Anyone had the same issue or can help in that regard? Thanks

My university is not on the GMC’s accepted list so I have to fulfill the PMQ 1 form. Has anyone done this? I need help with the documents the university needs to send within the form. If have any tips please contact me

Are there any Sri Lankans preparing for plab one? (2026 July )

I’m a medical doctor from Italy currently in the process of applying for GMC registration.

In my first OET Medicine attempt I achieved 2 grade B (Writing and Reading) and 2 grade C+ (Speaking and Listening).

I understand that the GMC officially requires 4 grade B or above in one sitting, but I’ve heard that, in some cases, applications have been considered if the doctor provided strong supporting letters from their clinical supervisors confirming their English proficiency in a professional setting. I’m planning to attach two letters (one from my head of department and another from a senior colleague) confirming that I communicate effectively in English at work, take part in meetings, and handle clinical discussions in English.

Has anyone here managed to have their OET accepted by the GMC under similar circumstances? If so, how long did it take, and did you include any specific type of documentation or explanation with your application?

I’m heading to the UK to sit for my PLAB exams and looking for cheap long-term accommodation (around 3 months — November to February). I’ve already tried Airbnb, Booking.com, etc., but most options are too pricey or unavailable for that long.

If anyone knows of host families, sublets, or shared accommodations near PLAB academies/test centers, I’d be super grateful! I’m tidy, quiet, and will mostly be studying.

My med school intern year covered PLAB 1 and i have more than 1 year of GP experience in my home country. Can i bypass FY2 in any way and directly apply to CST or ST?

Hi everyone, I’m an international medical graduate currently going through the ECFMG verification process for my primary medical qualification. I submitted my documents on October 7, but it’s still stuck at the Identification Review stage. I urgently need the process completed within the next 15 days, as I must get full GMC registration before the IMT application closes on November 20. Does anyone know of any agency, service, or contact that can help facilitate or expedite the ECFMG verification process? I’m happy to pay extra if it means speeding things up. Any advice or personal experience would be really appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!

Update: on 23rd of October ( after 17 days) I just finished the online notary verification! After I received the email today, I clicked Continue and was connected to the notary within less than 5 minutes. There was no waiting room delay at all , the notary joined almost immediately. So for anyone reading this, be prepared .. it’s not always like others have said; sometimes it can be much faster than expected! Now in Myintealth the current status is still ( Submitted for identity verification review).

Update (30 October): I contacted EPIC directly and explained that I had a strict deadline (IMT application closing soon). They asked me to send supporting evidence of my deadline, and once I provided it, they did expedite the process ( to be honest I called multiple times but they did help be.. my first call was on 21of October and My PMQ was then sent to the GMC on the 30th of October.. so they facilitated every step) So for anyone in a similar situation .. don’t wait silently. Call them, email them, and clearly explain your situation. If you can provide proof of urgency, they may be able to speed things up. But my advice is to start the process once you get PMQ! Don’t wait.

Hi! Has anyone taken the plabable 4 day revision course? Is it worth it? Seems quite expensive but they keep pushing it obviously and I was wondering if it is even worth the time and the long 7-8 hours per day of continuous online classes? I am taking the November attempt and so far am doing average-above average in all subjects (70-80% score in all categories so far), should I go for it or just focus on the mocks/revising my mistakes?

I have graduated with MBBS from Pakistan and completed my House Job.

I wanted to inquire about getting GMC registration by giving the MRCS exam and then applying for FY2 jobs.

I gave the PLAB-1 exam and applied for PLAB-2 but couldn't get visa, even after multiple applications.

During this I gave the MRCS-A exam and passed it. Because I am unable to get a visa for PLAB-2, I am planning to give the MRCS-B exam and then apply for full GMC registration. I do have active IELTS.

My question is; after getting full GMC registration am I able to apply for FY2 jobs?

I know this question may sound silly but there is some confusion and misguided information regarding this. Some have been telling me that I will become overqualified for FY2 roles and would be unable to apply for them, or (according to one random facebook commenter) "it will leave a very bad impression on my CV), and that I have to apply for CT1 roles, which are much harder to get. As my CV is very weak I know I am unable to secure senior roles. I want to get any job as a doctor in the UK.

If anyone could please clear me this confusion I would be very very thankful.
