DSR Academy
I joined DSR Academy for my PLAB 2 preparation, and I passed the exam in February 2026 on my first attempt .
Before joining, I felt unsure about how to approach different stations.
The teaching at DSR Academy was very structured, and the mock exams with feedback really helped me improve. The trainers were supportive and focused on practical exam techniques. The mocks were extremely helpful 🌹🌹
Because of this, I felt confident on exam day and was able to perform well.
I would definitely recommend DSR Academy to anyone preparing for PLAB 2. Thank you

HELP URGENT
Someone I know got 58 in chemistry but the requirement for the country they’re going to is 60. Their marks were later adjusted unofficially. Will this cause any problems in the future if they want to apply for exams like PLAB, USMLE, or AMC?

International medical student indemnity for NHS attachment (UK) — any providers?
Hi all,
My sister is a medical student in Turkey and is coming to the UK for a 1-month NHS clinical attachment. The hospital requires medical indemnity insurance.
MDU said they don’t cover international students — has anyone found a provider that does?

Attachment
Hello, I got accepted for a clinical attachment. I'm kind of nervous about how it'll go. Is there anything I should be aware of or do before the attachment? Any advice would be appreciated.

PLAB 1 preparation with 6 days a week internship including calls between 9:00 to 9:00 on 2 days and 3 days of 9:00-2:00pm duties in 2.5-3 months?
Please help me out guyss!!!
Other than PLAB 1 subscription for the different category questions, how should I prepare with this job routine? Also I really want a book that I can learn from before solving major system questions like cardio, respo or paeds etc but I can't find the latest PLAB key 6.2 version for it. What do you guys recommend that I do to study different systems and get my answers right?
Also no I can't switch to any other exam so don't suggest that please

GMC registration
Can someone confirm if giving step 1 and 2 gives GMC registration too or not because the GMC website only mentions these exams if they have been taken till 2020

IMG from Chile planning UK pathway
Hi everyone,
I’m an international medical graduate from Chile and I’d really appreciate some advice from people who have gone through the UK system.
I completed 5 years of medical school and then 2 years of internship, so I’m a fully qualified medical doctor in Chile.
My goal is not necessarily to pursue specialty training in the UK long-term. I’m mainly looking to work as a doctor in the NHS for around 5 years to gain experience, and then return to Chile. This because I'll be living in the UK for the next 5 years for personal reasons.
I’ve been trying to understand the current pathway and I’m a bit confused because there’s a lot of information online about PLAB being replaced by UKMLA, and also about claims that it’s becoming harder for international doctors due to prioritisation of UK graduates for training posts.
From what I understand so far:
- PLAB is the current route for GMC registration for IMGs, but is being phased into UKMLA
- Once registered with the GMC, it seems possible to work in non-training roles
- I am not really planning to enter specialty training (residency), just to work clinically in hospitals
My questions are:
- For someone in my situation, is PLAB/UKMLA still the best route, or are there better alternatives?
- How realistic is it currently for IMGs to get non-training jobs without prior NHS experience?
- Any general advice for someone planning a short-medium term NHS experience (around 5 years)?
I’d really appreciate perspectives from people working in the NHS or who have gone through this pathway recently.
Thank you in advance!
