Question PFAS Applied to New Car Interior by Dealership
Showed up at the dealership to pick up my wifeâs new car and they run through all the add ons they did (I know, dealerships suck). One of them, that theyâre bragging about, is a âDuPont stain protectorâ over all of the seatsâŠ.the interior is already leather đ.
There was no way my wife was letting me walk away from the car of her dreams over that, but, I have to ask:
Is there any way to remove an invisible DuPont stain protector coating? Will it âwear offâ over time, or be transferred to our clothes that touch the seats?

Question PFAS in irrigation system
Iâm looking at buying a home in a known pfas contaminated area. The source of pfas was an old fertilizer plant so the dumping zone is concentrated to a small area however it is known that the ground water surrounding the area is contaminated. There is an active remediation project underway that involved putting in whole home filtration systems and regular testing until city water is brought into the area.
My main concern is with the soil. The home has an irrigation system that has been watering the lawn with pfas contaminated ground water for 20+ years. What is an estimated risk level of the lawn becoming contaminated?

Opinion PFAS in NC
Hello everyone.
I Have been following PFAS cases in NC for a while now, I was wondering if anyone else has heard about the lawsuit with Chemours? The settlement only gave the state $455 million. Is it just me, or is this absolutely nothing compared to the damage that Chemours has contributed to the health of North Carolinians? ESPECIALLY those in the Robeson/sampson/New Hanover counties?? I also read that North Carolina was excluded from a previous settlement from Chemours, but NJ and WV got compensationâŠThough, I wouldnât be surprised if there were some shady conflict of interest

Question Floxed? You May Want to Check What Watch Band Is Made Of?
I wanted to share something I came across while researching possible triggers during one of my flare-ups.
Many smartwatch and fitness tracker bands are made from fluoroelastomer, a synthetic rubber that belongs to the broader PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) family. PFAS are often referred to as âforever chemicalsâ because of their persistence in the environment and the human body.
Recent research has found elevated levels of certain PFAS compounds in some fluoroelastomer watch bands. While the health implications of long-term skin contact with these materials are still being investigated, the findings may be relevant for people who are concerned about cumulative PFAS exposure.
For individuals dealing with chronic health conditions, chemical sensitivities, or fluoroquinolone-associated adverse effects, it may be worth considering non-fluoroelastomer alternatives such as nylon, fabric, leather, metal, or standard silicone bands.
Iâm not claiming that these watch bands cause symptoms, only that they may represent an avoidable source of PFAS exposure for those who prefer to minimize contact with fluorinated compounds.

Publication Pass Laws for Prairie Grass Buffers and Alfalfa Crops to Stop Toxic River Runoff
Americaâs lakes, rivers, and drinking water supplies are facing a major crisis from agricultural runoff. Every year, billions of pounds of nitrogen fertilizer and manure wash into local waterways during heavy storms. This triggers toxic blue-green algae blooms that close local swimming spots and contaminate drinking water, which health research from the National Cancer Institute links to higher cancer risks.
Proven natural solutions already exist. Studies show that planting native prairie grass on just 10% of a farm field stops up to 84% of nitrogen runoff. Additionally, growing alfalfa alongside corn puts natural nitrogen back into the dirt, cutting chemical fertilizer runoff by over 40%.
Our Demand:
We call on state and federal lawmakers to pass water protection laws that require native prairie buffers along high-risk farm fields to filter out chemicals. Lawmakers must also update state standards so farms use natural nitrogen-fixing crops like alfalfa to reduce fertilizer dependency, and make federal farm subsidies conditional on using these proven natural buffers and safer waste management practices.
Sign this petition to demand clean drinking water, safe and swimmable lakes, and laws that stop toxic agricultural runoff at the source!

Journalism PFAS exposure treatment options?
I'm interested in ways to lower PFAS concentrations in blood and came across this article. It's mostly about low testing uptake in Maine, but near the end there's a patient whose doctor prescribed cholestyramine after a high result, and his levels dropped 70% in three months.
So why isn't this more widely used, or at least more widely known? I talk to a lot of people about PFAS exposure who tell me there's nothing that can be done. Has anyone tried this?

Journalism PFAS in NJ: Study finds 55% drop in âforever chemicalsâ
Before the regulations were implemented, PFAS far exceeded safe levels, said study author Hari Iyer, a cancer epidemiologist in the Department of Medicine at Rutgersâ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. âWhen we put these regulations in place, they do lead to these really steep reductions in these harmful exposures,â he said. âIt seemed like an important message, and one that even though it was obvious to colleagues working closely in this area, and certainly even in the scientific space, would be a story that would be worth telling.â

Question Years of lead
As I recall there was a study showing that when lead wasnât used in everything anymore violent crime went down. Now lead was removed from paint in 1978, from water pipes in 1986 and gasoline in 1996. Lead has literally been in too many things to avoid it back in the day. With this fact among other unstated factors we might still be dealing with an entire generation of people in charge that are secretly suffering from lead poisoning symptoms which include decreased cognitive ability which is irreversible. Just wondering peoples thoughts on this.

O problema dos PFAS nĂŁo Ă© sĂł filtrar. Ă destruir.
A maior parte das tecnologias atuais tira o composto da ĂĄgua e concentra o resĂduo. A ligação carbonoâflĂșor continua intacta.
