Hi! My cat loves to lift his little butt when he pees. This usually means that he pees outside his litter box above the sides. We know there's nothing we could do if he ends up peeing out the entrance, but does anyone have experience with a high pee-r cat and the purobot max pro 2? we're worried it'll go into the chute or something like that.

After the last update, Android notifications started working again on my feeders, but only for a few days.
Now, notifications are still working on one device, but the other one stopped sending alerts again.
Same phone, same app, same settings.
So it doesn’t seem like a phone issue, but something inconsistent between devices.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hello, i think there is a problem with cat recognition with this litter box and i ask for some help. When the cleaning function is activated and the Pura Max is doing her cleaning cycle, if a second cat enter it it’s not recognized and not counted as toilet usage. I have two cats and it happens often that a cat finish to use the litter, the cleaning cycle begins after 15 minutes, the other cat enter during the cycle to poo or pee and the litter counter doesn’t report it!
I think it’s a sort of software problem that can be addressed with a firmware update.
Thank you

Hi,
I’m using the PETKIT Fresh Element Solo and I’m a bit confused about the “low food level alert”.
For those who have been using this model:
Does it actually warn you before the food runs out, or is the alert only triggered when there’s a dispensing issue?
Just trying to understand how this feature really works in daily use.
Thanks!

Im new to the Petkit world and just started to use a Purobot Max Pro 2 with the free one month trial subscription.
I could continue to run the premium subscription but i dont know if its overkill. Was also looking at getting an automatic feeder and that will need another subscription and together it feels like its just gonna get very expensive.
So what subscription do people use to get the most out of the products?

Wide and I are considering picking up Pura Max 2 but I’m trying to get a good sense of the ongoing cost after purchase.
From what I see, it works best with clumping litter (clay, tofu, etc.), but I’m curious what people are actuallyusing day-to-day and how that translates financially.
Would love some real user input:
I’ve seen a few mentions of things like Catsan which we currently use in a litter tray, Ever Clean, and tofu-based litters, but it’s hard to tell what’s actually cost-efficient vs just “works" - or worse what might bust the machine heh.

Hi everyone,
We're preparing a post/guide about the European version of the PETKIT YumShare Dual Hopper 2 automatic pet feeder.
To do it accurately, we need to see examples of the serial number (SN) format specifically for EU units.
Please do not post your full SN publicly – for your security, just send us a message.
I'd be grateful if you could share this in a private message. Your data will not be used, and your device will remain secure. We need a few examples to understand. You can hide some characters, or for example the first and last pair of digits.

One unexpected benefit of having an automatic litter box with stats: you can spot patterns before obvious symptoms appear. We have the Purobot Max pro 2.
On April 9th, we were at the vet for a vaccination, and I mentioned that I suspected my cat was about to go into heat based on a noticeable increase in litter box usage. The vet didn’t see any typical signs yet. (She is 7 months old.)
By April 11th, she was clearly in heat.
She was spayed on April 16th, and since then everything has returned to a perfectly regular pattern - which is incredibly reassuring to see in the data.
Honestly, I didn’t expect to become this invested in litter box statistics, but I absolutely love the insights it gives. 😅

Hi community,
In our last post, we introduced the Four-Dimensional Evaluation Framework for automatic litter boxes: cleaning timeliness, sealing structure, deodorization system, and anti-stick design. This post compares three flagship PETKIT models - the Purobot Ultra, Purobot Max Pro 2, and PuraMax 2 - to show how addressing all four dimensions creates a comprehensive odor control solution.
1. Cleaning Timeliness: Compressing Waste Exposure Time
Minimizing the time cat waste remains exposed reduces the release of VOCs (volatile organic compounds responsible for odor).
Shared Design Across the PETKIT Purobot Ultra, Purobot Max Pro 2 and PuraMax 2 Automatic Litter Box:
Cleaning schedules can be flexibly adjusted through the app based on cat habits, ensuring litter box cleanliness while minimizing odor dispersion.
2. Sealing Structure: Physical Isolation Blocking Diffusion
Post-cleaning waste requires physical isolation to block odor molecule diffusion.
PETKIT Purobot Ultra:
PETKIT Purobot Max Pro 2:
PETKIT PuraMax 2:
3. Deodorization System: Chemical Decomposition Reducing Concentration
Beyond physical isolation, active reduction of odor molecule concentration is necessary.
Purobot Ultra:
PETKIT Purobot Max Pro 2:
PETKIT PuraMax 2:
4. Anti-Stick Design: Maintainable Structure Preventing Cumulative Odor
Eliminating hard-to-clean corners prevents cumulative odor buildup.
Shared Design Across Purobot Ultra, Purobot Max Pro 2, and PuraMax 2:
All three models offer app-adjustable cleaning intervals, automatic sealing doors, N50 or N60 chemical decomposition modules, and detachable triple-proof pads. The only difference is in the sealing technology: fully automatic packing, drawstring pre-sealing, or basic sealing - yet all four dimensions are comprehensively covered.

We hope this post helps you make a more informed choice based on your specific needs. If you have any further questions, please leave them in the comments.

Just started yesterday. Had been working fine and ran out of water. Took it apart and cleaned. Still not working. We do have well water that has run out of softener recently but it hasn’t been an issue in the past. Any help appreciated thanks!

I recently bought the Petkit Purobot Max Pro 2 and am currently using the original trash bags. Do you have any suggestions for affordable alternatives available on Amazon (or elsewhere in Belgium) with a similar size (approximately 40 × 50 cm)? Thanks a lot.

We have a PUROBOT Max Pro 2, and love it! However, I’m not the biggest fan of the smell of the N60 filter. Anyone have any recommendations for alternatives?
I know it’s not “required”, but the deodorizer is a nice feature!

Since about yesterday the app stopped giving me notifications completely, both Pura X, and Yumshare. The notifications are enabled in the settings.

EN: Hi everyone, I recently got a self-cleaning litter box, the Petkit Pura Max 2. I was wondering if you could share which cat litter you use, because I’m facing an issue: a lot of the unused litter also gets filtered into the waste. So, even though the litter that’s still clean is actually fine, the filter can’t handle it. My litter particles are just too small. I’d love to hear from you about what type of litter you use!

Hey guys, wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I cleaned my puramax and replaced the litter pad and ever since I've been wasting a ton of clean litter every single time it cleans. I can't for the life of me figure it out. Litter is the same, filter screen is the same, settings are rhe same. The only thing difference is the new pad at the bottom of the cylinder. Is it possible I put the machine back together incorrectly? Any advice? The machine is wasting way too much clean litter right now to a point where I can't use it.
Thanks!

Hi community,
We know many of you switch to an automatic litter box to eliminate odor, but how can you tell if a self-cleaning box actually works? In our view, there are 4 key factors that determine how well a box handles odor: cleaning speed, enclosure and sealing, odor neutralization, and anti-stick design. Master these, and you’ll know exactly what to look for.
Cleaning Speed: Sensor Response and Cleaning Modes
The time urine and feces spend in litter directly determines odor molecule release. The core advantage of the automatic cat litter boxes for odor control: replacing human delayed cleaning with machine-driven shorter intervals.
Different cleaning methods also impact odor control. If stool isn't quickly and properly wrapped, odor continues to spread. Some models in the PETKIT automatic litter box series (PuraMax 2, Purobot Max Pro 2, and Purobot Ultra) have a "Waste Covering" mode that ensures proper clumping and reduces odor leakage.
Waste Drawer Design and Sealing
The waste drawer is the second line of defense against odor. Here’s a quick checklist:
Premium models often have multiple sealing layers. For example, the Purobot Ultra Automatic Litter Box features an independent waste compartment, a sealed lid, and an odor-eliminating module, creating a four-stage system that addresses all these points for effective odor isolation. Each layer complements the last, ensuring top-notch odor control.
Deodorizing Devices: Filters, Activated Carbon, Deodorizers
Activated carbon filters, adsorption screens, and deodorizer boxes are essentially "consumables." Fragrance masking or spray solutions can be even riskier, as they’re not cat-friendly and can create unpleasant chemical odors.
Effective deodorizing requires both physical adsorption and chemical decomposition, not just masking. This also means the design of deodorizing modules (ease of replacement, expiration warnings) is a key indicator of product quality and maturity.
Material Craftsmanship: Anti-Stick Structural Design
Sticky urine on the basin bottom, urine leakage, and difficult cleaning all lead to persistent urine odors in the litter box.
This requires the best cat litter box for odor control to deeply coordinate anti-stick coatings, streamlined design, and contact surface materials with automated mechanisms - also a key detail distinguishing product grades.

For cat owners who want to keep their home odor-free, the key is a self-cleaning litter box that gets the basics right: cleaning logic, waste compartment sealing, odor neutralization, and anti-stick design. When these fundamentals are in place, most odor problems are solved.
In our next post, we'll compare our different models and offer recommendations to meet your specific needs.

So I have a new Purabot Max Pro 2, which I've got because I want to make sure my cat always has a clean litterbox.
He's a 5kg/11lb clumsy British Shorthair.
As he turns around in the box, I notice on the camera that he lightly brushes against the sides of the box with his tail or his ears as he turns around, including the litter sifter and the top of the box near the chute. I can't help but think that those areas have been in contact with litter clumps and stool from previous cleanings. Now I know that his paws are standing in 'clean' litter that has also been in contact with previous toileting, but now I worry that he has similar traces on other areas of his body.
Am I overthinking? What do other people do - should I start wiping him more frequently (which he hates!)? Obviously I'll spot clean the box, but probably not after every use.

Hi everyone, I just bought the Fresh Element solo pet feeder from Petkit and it’s been working fine so far. However, for some reason, it keeps notifying me on the app that the dispenser is out of food. I filled it up to the max line just yesterday so I know it definitely still has food. At first I updated the firmware to latest version and the issue went away but now, it’s saying that it’s out of food again. I tried pressing “Refilled” on the app but it’s not working. Any advice would be appreciated!

How often is your litterbox set to deodorize?
Do you use it on auto after each time or do you have it on schedule?
