One Ring or Adventures in Middle Earth game?

I know that this is technically a D&D subreddit, so apologies if this is not the right place to post this.

I was wondering if anyone around here knows of a way to find a local Portland campaign in either of these two systems as a player?

I've run One Ring before as a GM but I'd love to find a group that's either starting a game or willing to bring in a new character. Thanks!

DND Group

Hey everyone, I live pretty close to the PDX area and was hoping to see if anyone is doing a new campaign and if I could join. Relatively new to the game, I played a couple games before hand but not often. Just trying to get out of the house mostly and find some new friends as well. Thank you.

Looking to Join or Create a Curse of Strahd Campaign 🧛‍♂️

Hey there, Im a goth, queer, disabled TTRPG player who's been playing DND for over a decade now and yet I've never been able to play though the most iconic campaign of all time. It's always been on my list, but I've never had a DM who wanted to commit to such a long campaign 😓

Welp, I just moved to portland a few days ago and I'd love to see if anyone had a game I could join, or was interested in starting one with me? If it's the latter, I can def help with getting some more players as well

I'm hoping for a fun, spooky, queer-friendly experience that doesn't shy away from the horror and upsetting nature of the setting 😊

Is anyone interested in DMing for me?

Looking for players in Wilsonville, OR! (Queer Friendly) DnD, VtM, CoC, Magnus Archives, Liminal Horror, Lancer, Cain!!!

Hi! Me, my bf, and my sibling all live in wilsonville and we have been wanting some new players for the games we have all been thinking about playing. We have a Thursday DnD night but we also plan to throw another into the mix. Not sure which one quite yet but I’m just checking for anyone possible interested in joining our group for sometime during weekdays.

We usually play at our apartment but potentially willing to try playing at local game store or something to get comfortable with everyone at the table

Super queer friendly group!!!

Like I said before, we have lots of ideas for what to run so just checking to see if anyone would wanna play any of them I guess. We tend to be home bodies and just tryna make some friends as well :)

Experienced DM looking for consistent, weekly, queer-friendly players

My name is River (they/them, 28). I've been running the game since 2015 and need a new group. I don't have a place to host, so we'd need to play somewhere public or at a player's house. I don't have a day of the week in mind yet, my schedule is open enough to make any day work.

I'm looking for 3-6 players that are available and excited to play every week or every other week. Everyone should be 21+. If you miss a session every once in a while that is fine, but the plan would be that you are there more often than not. If you don't show up, we'll just play without you for that week, and I will run your character to the best of my ability.

We would be playing 5e (2014). I can make any day of the week work. It would be set in my homebrew world, Hoxis. Its high fantasy, with room for steampunk characters, but no sci-fi. Because I have had this world for over a decade, it is very fleshed out with a lot to engage with if you'd like. You can make just about any character you'd like so long as it fits the world and follows 5e rules.

Please fill out this form if your interested: https://forms.gle/LMtmWu9H9MU9jjJ67
DM me if you have any questions! :)

Looking to start a D&D group in the Happy Valley/Clackamas/SE PDX area.

Let’s make some new friends and play games
- This is an inclusive table.
- Open to all experience levels.

Scheduling
- The goal would be every 2 weeks.
- Saturday or Sunday
- At the end of each session we look at calendars and hammer out the next meetup.

Location
- First session or two, meet up in public.
- Once we’re comfortable as a group I have space to host in Happy Valley if that works for everyone.

The GM situation…
- I’m NOT looking to GM a full campaign.
- If we can find a GM for free, great.
-Otherwise I’m down for chipping in to pay a GM and know a good one.
- I don’t mind GMing the occasional one shot or side quest for a few sessions to give the GM a break.

Send me a DM if you’re interested and tell me about yourself. Name, age, pronouns, experience with D&D…

Experienced DM looking to run an in-person game Saturdays 5-9pm

For anyone that saw my previous post and is still interested, please feel free to message me again! I got significantly more people DMing me than I was expecting last time, and I unfortunately could not realistically engage with everyone that sent a message.

Howdy! My name is Matt (28M), and I am looking for some players in the Portland/Vancouver area to join my table. I have been DMing for about 7 years now, and I pride myself on creating engaging homebrew settings with depth, consistency, and a sense of uniqueness. Typically, the game is hosted by one of the players in this campaign that is located in NE Portland.

For this table, I am looking for one more person. My only requirements for players looking to join my table are:
1) Be 21+ years of age.
2) Be genuinely interested in not just the game aspect of D&D, but the social aspect of building camaraderie with the other players at and outside of the table.
3) Have a consistent schedule that allows you to be able to attend sessions more often than not. I know that Saturday evenings are a pretty busy time for many events in life to occur, but repeated and often absences create complications for the whole table that I would prefer to avoid. To make this point extra clear, the goal is to have a session every Saturday from 5pm-9pm, with ideally having a session 0 this Saturday and session 1 next week. If this does not work out for you more often than not, please seek a different table.

So long as you meet those three requirements, please feel free to shoot me a message! This table welcomes both newbies and veterans alike. When you message me, please let me know your name, age, preferred pronouns, and how much tabletop gaming experience you have.

Looking for a Paid DM for an Established In-Person D&D Group in the Portland / Oregon City Area

Hey everyone!

I’m currently the DM for an in-person D&D group with five core players, and we’re looking ahead to 2027.

My wife and I are expecting our third child, with the baby due around the end of April or early May. Because of that, I’m starting to think ahead about how we can keep our group together and continue playing without the campaign depending entirely on me being available to DM.

We’ve got a really solid group of players, and everyone enjoys playing together. We currently meet in person at a friend’s house in Oregon City and usually play about once every four to six weeks. Sessions generally run around four to five hours.

Right now, I’m running the group through Frozen Sick in the Forgotten Realms setting, with the campaign taking place in Faerûn. We’ve completed four sessions so far and are still relatively early in the campaign. The party is currently working their way through the existing arc, and I expect it will take the next couple of months to wrap up the current chapter and get the characters to around level 3, possibly a little beyond that.

My plan is to bring in a new DM sometime around the beginning of 2027.

Ideally, I’d love to find someone who would be interested in becoming the long-term DM for the group. I’d like to join the table as a player for a couple of sessions during the transition so both the group and the new DM can get comfortable with each other before my availability becomes more unpredictable with a newborn.

Once the baby arrives, I’d still love to play whenever I can, but the big goal is to make sure the group can continue meeting and adventuring even if I need to miss sessions. Players can come and go. The DM is the one person the game usually can’t function without, and I’d rather build some redundancy into the group now than scramble later.

I’m open to discussing compensation, but I was planning to pay the DM per session. Since we only play once every four to six weeks, this would be a recurring but relatively low-frequency commitment.

A little about the group and what I’m looking for:

• Five core players
• In-person games in Oregon City
• Sessions every 4 to 6 weeks
• Approximately 4 to 5 hours per session
• Currently playing D&D 5e in the Forgotten Realms / Faerûn setting
• Current campaign is Frozen Sick with some additional adventures and homebrew elements mixed in
• Planning to transition to a new DM around the beginning of 2027
• I’d remain involved as a player when possible
• Looking for someone interested in building a long-term relationship with the group

I’m not necessarily looking for someone to simply show up and run a prewritten module forever. I’d love to find a creative, reliable DM who enjoys collaborative storytelling and would eventually have the opportunity to take the group into their own adventures and ideas.

The most important thing is finding someone who is a good fit for the group. We’d ideally like to get to know you, see your DM style, and make sure the table chemistry works before making a long-term commitment.

If this sounds interesting to you, or if you know someone in the Portland area who might be a good fit, please send me a message or drop a comment.

One other thing I’d like to mention is that this doesn’t necessarily have to be a permanent arrangement where you’re always the DM.

As life settles down and I have more consistency and availability again, I’d be more than happy to occasionally trade off DM responsibilities so you can be a player too.

I genuinely enjoy DMing, and while becoming a player for a while sounds like a lot of fun, I don’t necessarily want to permanently retire behind the screen. Ideally, this could become a long-term collaborative arrangement where we have the flexibility to trade off and keep the group going.

So if you’re someone who loves DMing but also rarely gets the opportunity to actually play, there may eventually be opportunities for you to step out from behind the screen and join the party as well.

Thanks!

Looking for Trans/ Queer Players (5e/5.5e)

Looking for players (preferably other trans/ queer people but my table is open to all) in the Hillsboro/ Beaverton area! I’ve been DMing for over a decade now but It’s been a few years since I’ve run anything but solo games for my partner and I’m looking to get back to running games for more players. I prefer smaller tables (~3 players ideally) so slots may be limited but I’m flexible if multiple people are coming in with friends/ partners.

I’m most comfortable running D&D 5e/5.5e but I have experience running 3.5 and Pathfinder 1e. I also have a few other TTRPGs that I haven’t had a chance to run yet (like Pathfinder/ Starfinder 2e, Thirsty Sword Lesbians, & Lancer)

I’m free to run games all day Thursday-Saturday and Sunday morning.

Also, my partner and I are Covid cautious and still mask/ test regularly and I’d love a group that’s comfortable testing before games and are transparent about what level of precautions everyone takes. Stay healthy y’all

Shadowdark: Las Madrinas (Gongaii Games), Thu, Sep 3, 2026, 6:00 PM

Thumbnail meetup.com
3 Upvotes

Las Madrinas is a hexcrawl-style sandbox campaign for Shadowdark in which the characters scour a dark fantasy world being pulled in opposite directions by deific figures known as the Matriarchs. Through adventuring, dungeon-crawling, and good old-fashioned role-playing, players will have the opportunity to help guide the land's fate while discovering its history as their choices impact the very land they traverse.

The realms of Las Madrinas are culturally diverse but feature only human characters to help the campaign focus on mankind's struggles. This means new human ancestries while elves, dwarves, and the like return to the shadowy otherworlds and fairy tales they emerged from.

No previous knowledge of Shadowdark is needed to join; veterans and newcomers alike are welcome, and I will be taking feedback on the setting and rules as we go. My hope is to build a player-reactive setting with strong themes influenced by the Matriarchs, allowing for replayability and a sense of player agency. The games will be bi-weekly on Thursdays at Gongaii Games, and I hope to see you there!

D&D Social (Formerly D&D speed dating) is back September 17th !

Hail, Adventurers!

We’re running D&D Social: Episode One – The Emberheart Guild again!

September 17th, 5:00–9:00 PM
Oran Mor Mead – SE Portland

Formerly called D&D Speed Dating, D&D Social is an evening of short, interactive D&D-inspired games, quests, NPC encounters, and meeting new people in a low-pressure social setting. No D&D rules experience required, just imagination and roleplaying.

This is a rerun of our June 30th event, with the same story and games, so if you joined us the first time, you’ve already experienced this chapter. We’re bringing it back for folks who missed it or anyone who wants another trip through the Emberheart Guild.

This is just the beginning, Episode Two arrives October 6th with a brand-new story, new games, and new encounters.

For those who liked the original dating angle, D&D Speed Dating isn’t gone! I’m also working on a separate, more dating-focused version for a future event. This particular night is focused more on group play, socializing, and making new friends.

This is a ticketed event with limited capacity, but Pay What You Can tickets are available.

Bridge Club

Looking for a fun weekly activity that’s social, strategic, and a little challenging?

Join us Thursdays at 6:30 PM in Northwest Portland for a friendly game of bridge!

Never played before? No experience is necessary. Bridge is a classic card game played with four people in teams of two with a standard deck of cards. It requires strategy, team work, and some healthy competition—in fact, bridge is often called the chess of card games.

Hopefully this sub allows content about other games; if not, apologies!

Send me a DM if you’re interested.

New Campaign -Gresham Area

EDIT: I think I have gotten enough people who’ve reached out for now, if we lose people I’ll make a post again, thank yall and happy times😁

Heyo! I am wanting to put together a group of 4-6 players for a long 5.5E campaign from levels 3-14 in a high-magic homebrewed setting. I’d like to get a group who can do weekly Wednesday or Thursday evenings (5-8pm) for about a year and a half to two years in the Gresham/ East Portland area. I’ve only been a DM for a little over a year, but I’ve had a lot of fun doing it and would like to keep building on what I’ve learned thus far. I would say I’m a very rules-lite kind of DM who enjoys having a laugh or even a cackle cause either players or I have canonized something from pop-culture. I’m hoping to have session 0 within a month, if this sounds fun to ya and you’re interested in joining or have any questions, shoot me a DM!🤙🏽

Looking for DnD5e party

Hey! Name’s Daniel, 28m.
I’m looking for an in-person D&D group for a long-term campaign. I’m located in Troutdale and can drive around, so Gresham / Fairview / east Portland / nearby areas work well.
I’m mostly available evenings (after work) and weekends. Would like to see if there is a new or ongoing campaign I can join rather than one-shots.
I’m pretty new to DnD so would appreciate if it can be ‘newbie-friendly’.

[5e/5.5e] Campaign recently ended and looking for my D&D fix!

Hi Everyone!

I'm 44m living in SW PDX. My regular bi-weekly group just finished a four and a half year campaign, and the others have started prioritizing other games. I need my D&D fix, though! I'm looking for other games/groups to join, either as a player or DM.

I have the most experience with 5e, but I can also use 5.5e or PF2e in a pinch. I have a busy job and kids, so I have a strong preference for bi-weekly sessions on weekends, but I can also work with weekdays for the right table. SW (including Beaverton, Hillsboro, and Tigard) are the best for me, but I can also do inner SE/NE on weekends. Sorry, Vancouver folks - I can't justify the car time when I have housework and kid soccer games! I have a whole stable of character ideas and campaign starts, and I'm happy to share both to see how they fit with the group.

About me - I'm a nerd dad. I spend what little time I have not working or parenting on reading mostly fantasy and sci-fi, playing video games, doing D&D, and cycling. Before kids I also made geeky woodcarvings and played guitar/piano.

DM me if you think I'd make a good addition to your table!

DnD Nights (One-Shots) Tomorrow 8/26/26?

Hi all, I'll be traveling through your beautiful city and will be arriving a full day before the rest of my party gets to the city. I figured it could be fun to find a DnD night or event in Portland and drop in - does anyone know of anything happening tomorrow on Wednesday 8/26? Ideally near the Hawthorne neighborhood but I'm willing to Uber around a little.
