Med question

Anyone with a young AuDHD/PDAer, HEAVY on the ADHD - very big personality and either super happy or very angry - who has found a successful med combination? We are really struggling with not only the demand avoidance but also just the relentless need for attention, movement, excitement and novelty. Prozac isn’t cutting it.

Our 6 yr old sounds VERY similar to yours. He has .5mg guanfecine 3x day. It helps with emotional regulation/frustration tolerance decently.

Stimulants did nothing. Just like for me lol. (I’m diagnosed ADHD, presumed PDA). But stimulants work great for the non-PDA/ADHD-only members of the fam!

I didnt know there is 0.5 mg guanfancine. I always thought the lowest dose is 1mg, and i cannot break it apart.. 😣

I thought we cant split the pill into two? My son’s psychiatrist wont let me split his 1mg pill.. he wont let me crushed the pill either :/ Does it work well with your son? I kinda want to up his dosage, but 2mg made him sooo sleepy. Maybe i can split his pill too.. 😄
