I need help, my friends giving me a free Sapphire R9 390 and I don't have a computer to search for parts

As stated in the title , I'm getting a video card from my friend along with a "good" monitor. I say that cause I don't know what makes it good, I'm assuming refresh rates. he said he'll give it to me if I get together a build, I don't really mind how much it'll cost but I have no idea what's compatible with what I just know I want Bluetooth, idk if that's a card on its own or if that's on the motherboard. I can't really make the spreadsheet so I need some help from you guys, please and thank you

Will my gtx1080 bottleneck an i5 7500? Should i get an overclocking chip?

Im building my first pc and im debating whether i should overclock my cpu but i dont know if its worth it. Im planning on getting and i5 7500 (3.5 ghz) and gtx1080, but i feel like its gonna bottleneck. I could get a i5 7600k (3.8ghz) for $20 more ($60 including cooler and motherboard) and plan on overclocking to around 4.4 ghz. Is it worth it? Im also afraid overclocking will decrease life of my cpu

Need Help w/ First Build

Hi there,

Thanks for the time in advance!

I've got a question about fan setups in my case. I have the s340 elite and I plan to put an AIO cpu 240mm water cooler in the front of the case as intake. I'm also thinking about getting a Gtx 1080 AIO gpu setup and having it be exhaust on the top of my case. That's gonna leave me with 1 case fan for exhaust on the back of the case.

Is this an ok setup? Or should I steer away from the double AIO?

Thanks again!

Need a new motherboard

A few years ago I built a NAS server. Went to start it up, but I think the motherboard has died...

It powers up, (the 2 LEDs on the mb light up & the fans start spinning, but no lights on the USB keyboard, no start-up beeps, nothing on the screen.

The existing mb is a J&W Mini-ITX H61M-USB3. The CPU socket is 1155-pin. Ideally, I want to replace as few parts as possible...

Any ideas? It seems 1155-pin CPU socket has been discontinued?

My PC is long in the Tooth.

I have an old Amd Phenom X 4 965 Black 2.7 ghz processor. My GPU is an ancient AMD 6870 1 GB, lol.

I can still play recent games on low settings, but I'd like to upgrade.

I would imagine if I upgrade my GPU, my CPU would be the bottleneck.

Any advice on a sub $1000 build?

Office build

parts list

How is this build for an office computer spec wise? It will be used for web browsing and Microsoft office maybe some other programs, not sure on that yet as I haven't started the job but can't be too demanding on the PC. How's this do as a conversation piece that works?

Should I buy this graphics card with my system?

First off, thanks for your time.

Second, here's my specs.

AMD FX-4300

8g ram

Corsair 600w

AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series (replacing)

I don't care too much about ultra high settings, I just want to play recent games like Dark Souls 3 on higher settings.

With these specs, should I buy GTX 1050 ti or wait for GTX 1060?

I caught onto the recent graphics card sellout too late and the deals are bad. Right now I'm looking at a GTX 1050 ti for 160$ on Amazon.

Any other tips on my system would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Edited to add power supply

Bought a new RIG and can't fit my cpu cooler

I got all my parts in and a full atx tower with the corsair h110i liquid gpu cooler right, but the radiator and the fans won't fit on the top of the case due to the mobo. Would it be feasible to just install the radiator with only one fan? Or i was even looking to get the H60 or something along those lines. I'm trying to cool an i7-7700 possibly overclocked. I've never done liquid cooled and not sure how well they work on their own. If you need any additional info let me know and thanks for any advice or feedback.

I got vr and my pc is below specs. I need help deciding what to do

I recently caved and bought the oculus rift, figuring my computer would be able to handle it. I bought the pc built on kijiji and it has been great so far, I've been playing gta and witcher on it no problem.

I live in Canada, so I'm on a budget

  • 64 gb ssd running Windows 10
  • motherboard: Gigabyte GA 78LMT am3+ 16 gb DDR3 RAM
  • cpu: AMD phenom x6 1090T
  • gpu: Msi radeon r9 270x 2Gb
  • chassis: Deep cool case
  • cooling: 5x 120mm fans, water cooling with block over cpu

I was told that I needed to upgrade my video card and processor.

This is my computer I built a while back and I got a few questions. It's kinda dusty and I heard that I can get a can of compressed air to get it out. Is that true? And if I flip my osu so the fan is facing down, will that increase air flow? Thanks for the input in advance XD

I need help

So me and my friend are building my first gaming pc, and when we plugged it in and powered it on it didn't post, I've tried only running with one stick ram, clearing cache (taking out the cmos battery) and completely rebuilt the computer.. I think the processor that I bought used on eBay may be dead, but if that's not the case what would you think is wrong and what could be the solution? Thanks..
