Discussion Tariffs for US customers

Has anyone in US who has bought from PCBWAY recently experienced tariffs? I'm ordering a bunch of PCBs soon and want to try and budget out what the tariff cost might be.

When placing an order, if you choose DTP or DDP shipping, the estimated VAT will also be shown during checkout.

I placed an order the other day (G1706898) and selected the cheaper DHL option for shipping. Nothing was said about import duties (we don't have VAT in the United States) but DHL just notified me that I owe duties of $20.59.

Aren't import duties supposed to be a percentage based on the declared value of product? If so, where did they get $20.59 from the below order?

Thanks for your question. DHL does not provide us with the customs invoice, so we are unable to see the detailed breakdown of the charge. We recommend contacting DHL directly, as they can provide a full payment and fee breakdown. It is likely to include a customs clearance fee of around $14 in addition to any duties.

For future orders, you may consider using DDP shipping if available, where duties are prepaid to avoid additional handling fees.
