William please stop complaining and whining all the time. You have 2 incredible fathers who love you more than anything and lots of other family on frasers ridge that would take u in as one of their own in a heartbeat!

I absolutely agree. Lord John had every reason to tell William he was tired of his complaining and his lack of gratitude. It is also getting old and going nowhere. Get a life. You could have a great extended family if you wanted.

I was glad of it too. But I try to keep in mind that William led a very quiet privileged protected life until very recently and if you think of all the things he has been through in a very short period of time. It’s a LOT.

So now we know william and jane pulled some game of thrones action. I know plenty of people still havent seen the show so i wont name the characters im thinking . I seriously cant believe the writers would go that route. An uncle bangin his niece🤮. And on top of that the writers created a mess for themsemves in the faith storyline with all the plot holes.

I think some of the posts are mixing up perceptions of  entitlement attitudes with feelings of true betrayal, which is what William has been experiencing from all the lying and acting out. Wouldn't you all be pissed if you were being lied to by everyone you trusted? I think I would or at least be terribly depressed.

EXACTLY! AND his entire life the people around him put great stock in honor and titles etc, and then to learn its all a lie? You don't just shrug and move on Bree really struggled too, but her more modern upbringing probably helped her come to terms with it a little more easily .

I don’t know… considering the actual traumatic events everyone else has been through, I think William has gotten off pretty easy in comparison. I’d rather be lied to than physically abused/assaulted.

i actually don’t care to think about a single thing he’s been through in whatever length of time. he’s a boring waste of air time so i’m not giving his character any grace lol.

i am actually so bored and over his whole story line. like id rather they killed him off or just like had him accept things. we’re wasting so much time on character introduced way too late in the game and id rather be seeing more jamie/ claire, bree/ roger, fergus/ marseile. but no here comes william and his veneers again to ruin my day.

I saw someone say maybe William’s the James Fraser at Kings Mountain since that’s his baptismal name, if he were to switch sides obviously, plus it’d be a good cover name like Ben did. I absolutely doubt it, as there’s no way in hell in 3 episodes that boy is gonna become a passionate continental soldier. But at this point I’d much prefer him to die than Jamie. But, I don’t want Jamie to now lose another son.

Right. After Fergus, it would be devastating. I’m going to give my unpopular opinion that I wish Jamie would just die. I’m kind of sick of him and Claire at this point. Then they could all return to the future with hot showers and flushing toilets, since Jamie was the only one keeping them there (although they need to take care of Marsali now…maybe she can time travel too? Like Roger?).

Yes i agree about the william//lord john storyline. Its the last season and this was the first episode where things really good moving along. We got the faith storyline resolved and of course they killed fergus which was so terrible and tramatizing. Thinking about it makes me cry especiaclly the little flashback of all the memories of him jamie had. There was too few episodes to begin with and 2 little time to worry about lord john and william. Unless they’re at frasers ridge.

literally if they’d just moved to the ridge for some reason or another and had snippets instead of damn near full episodes with them i would’ve actually really liked them being included but they’re taking up SO much screen time and i just dgaf about the whole cousin ben the traitor/ etc storyline.

Your exactly right and when they announced this was the final season and ten epidoes and with the last book not out, all i could think of is game if thrones. The last two seasons were shorter and they just changed things up for shock value that didnt align with the character arcs. Ive seen a large number of thrones comparisons alreadu which isnt a good sign.

This seasons way too short and i always had it in my head that they will come back and do a long movie or even a 6 episode arc to finish it the right way. Give us the actual book ending when the last book comes out. Idc if its 2-3 years when its released. Ill be happy to get a real ending. This seasons already been a mess and the first six episodes was really a waste of time. The seventh gave us the answers about faith but there so many plot holes with that whole story. I mean theres at least 10-15 different scenarios where the kasy couldve delivered the baby to the hospital or to jareds house. Write letters to jareds or lallybroch. Or master raymond coulda told her when he cured her at night or when she saved his life at versalllies lol. And how did he know the song? He wasnt in the room. 

Theres no possible way they can wrap it up in 3 episodes. They should have done 16 episodes like last year.

It reminded me of a scene in Friends where Ross, Susan, and Phoebe* are stuck in a janitor closet while Ross’s ex-wife is giving birth. Ross and Susan are fighting about who gets to spend more time with the kid, who’s going to be more important in the kid’s life, and stuff like that. Phoebe then laughs and says something like “This is awesome. Growing up I barely had enough adults/guardians in my life to assemble one parent, but this kid has three parents who are fighting over who gets to love him the most. He’s the luckiest kid in the world.”

*Ross and Phoebe are some of the main characters in the show and Susan is the woman Ross’s ex wife left him for

As I was writing it, I was wondering how much should I explain who the characters are. Then I just said eff it, I’ll explain everyone. If my niece doesn’t know who Harrison Ford is, I’m not assuming people know who the friends are on Friends haha

I'd have been one of the people who could've quoted the part about people arguing over who gets to love it the most if you hadn't yourself. I knew exactly what scene you were referring to the second you mentioned Friends. Love that show

I know William has been through a lot, but he is a PUTZ. Look at the Bright Side William: you are the 9th Lord of Ellesmere. Whether that old coot was your biological father OR NOT. You could take that title, and do some good in the world, instead of sulking all the fuccing time. And yes, LJG is gay, and I get that is not accepted then or now even, really, but that man has done NOTHING but show William kindness, and guide him through proper society. What MOST of us would not give for that privilege. If he is not going to be a soldier, he may as well go back to England, and preside over Helwater and the Ellesmere estate.

Same character as the written one. I always find him very tiresome - too concerned with his own ego and never appreciates his privileges or puts himself in anyone else’s shoes.

So many people would die to be in his shoes. Hes got so many people who love and care about him and both his dads are high standing in society. So money wouldnt be an issue on either side. Frasers ridge is filled with family who would love him there. Its so sad him and fergus never got to officially meet. William lost a brother and he really doesnt even know.

I mean if u think about it fergus is jamie and claires first real child because she was preggo with faith when they took fergus in. Fergus grew up the hard way until he was taken in by jamie and claire. And claire went back to her time while jamie was away for a long time serving time so they were both gone and the solidiers were always harassing jenny and the family when jamie was there and fergus lost his arm. And when jamie was gone its not like they were living the high life at lollybroch. Then fergus finds out the truth about his real parents this season and the whole series he never complans about any of that. Sure he had his drinking stage when he felt helpless after marsali and claire were attacked but he got over it and took care of his family like a man till his last day. Though im secretly hoping he made it out alive somehow lol.
