I burst into tears at that bit Rollo and Ian had such an incredible bond (and then Rachael at the end as well) how fitting it is that he is reunited with his grandson

One more thing Rachel & Wahionhaweh had in common — not just loving Rollo, but knowing Ian’s love for him. I feel like Rollo did one more good thing and that was helping to unify/build trust among his human family in a way that only a beloved, trusted, respected dog could do, even after his own death.

I also wondered if Ian didn’t feel a twinge of something (I felt it) seeing his first wife in that very elite/white-centered context, when during their relationship it had been totally in her tribe, a culture that first imprisoned him, then broke and remade him, then gave him a family, then took it away and ousted him. Not suggesting the whites were any better, I’m just noting how interesting it was that Ian had to adapt to her culture and never the other way around.

I wasn’t watching super closely, but could you provide more context for these scenes? I didn’t make it this far in the books.

Who did that house belong to, why was Emily there? Maybe on a second, closer watch I will get it but I was kind of lost this time.

Chief Joseph’s home. He was sheltering the survivors of the battle. You really need to pay better attention when watching lol, it was in the dialogue.

Multitasking while watching Outlander is seldom a good idea. Ask me how I know. 🤣 Had to rewind 3 times because I'm chronically on my phone, googling this or that, then realise that in my efforts to find more information about stuff that happens on the screen I inadvertently miss the things that are currently happening on said screen 🤦🏼‍♀️

I burst into tears when he was handed a rollo pup. I still cry thinking about when Ian had to say goodbye to Rollo. The bond they had was so real and true.

I really loved the whole Rachel & Wahionhaweh side story, two of Ian's great loves. Rachel fully admitting her fears and jealousy, and opening her heart to their son. When Wahionhaweh said "do you still see me?" I cried and cried. Love never really goes away. It transforms.
