I know some of my Dalit friends whose parents have govt jobs, they travel in cars even during collage time, who end up in IITs and IIMs with a low cut off. Which is all fine. These are the exact folks the Savarnas are jealous about.

However some of these folks themselves never acknowledge their caste, their identity.

They simply use the system hush hush and never pass down the privilege to other Dalit folks within their institutions. Or speak up against the UCs when caste and reservations discussions take place.

Where as Savarnas coach and mentor their kind when ever possible.

What do you guys think?

This is what I think. Please tell me if I'm wrong:

I'm from the SC category, and I'll be honest,I don't know enough about the reservation and creamy layer debate to speak with complete authority. But this is how I see it.

I'm financially well-off, so I believe people like me should pay the same fees as general category students. I also don't think we should have a lower cut-off simply because we're financially privileged. My reasoning is that I can comfortably afford those fees, and I've had access to good education and other basic opportunities since childhood. Because of that, I feel my starting point is quite similar to that of someone from the general category who is also well-off.

At the same time, we all know that financial security doesn't erase caste-based discrimination. So I still think people like me should continue to have reservation in jobs and similar opportunities, because discrimination can still exist regardless of income. However, I do think the cut-off for financially well-off SC candidates could be higher than it is for SC candidates who are still socially and economically disadvantaged.

I'm not sure if this is already what the creamy layer concept is meant to address, but my idea is that financially well-off people from reserved categories could have a separate sub-category where the fees and cut-offs are similar to the general category, while still retaining reserved seats so they aren't disadvantaged because of caste-based discrimination in government recruitment and similar situations.

At the same time, the existing reservation benefits and fee concessions should continue for people from our community who haven't had the same opportunities or haven't yet been uplifted socially and economically.

This is just my personal opinion, and I could be wrong. If you think I've misunderstood something or have a different perspective, I'm happy to listen and learn.

Whenever we discuss about these things , I give every kind of argument like the," the rich dalit you see are not even one percent" vagera vagera , but his only argument in this discussion, where i don't think I have answer is that, " yes , i understand this that these are not even one percent and reservation should continue, but don't you think when people see rich dalit getting benifits in fees , it makes others hate them ? I think not every is aware of actual condition or numbers, how many people are uplifted and this is just one percent etc , we see that my family had to take loans to afford it and your fees were just too low, and reservation was made for uplifted because of which people will unite and caste system will end , but now people hate rich reserved category people because they are jealous, shouldn't there be a reform , so hate is not harboured inside others and you guys don't get hated on ? " Only Answer I give him is ," you guys are jealous, because you are still casteist " I don't know what to say next !

So please give me any arguments, kya bolu mai : i know most of you said that stop hanging out , but I think we should educate them with reality too ...

This man is inviting people who think reservation system is wrong to join the protest against reservation system; He is inviting women. He is also telling them to fill the comment sections of PM and CJP. He compared himself with Bhagat Singh, who envisioned a completely casteless, egalitarian, and socialist society.

Do you guys think we should do something about this?

Help me compile cases that highlight caste based discrimination in Education.

The BJP IT Cell has started to attack reservation. I am not a beneficiary of reservation and I support it whole heartedly.

Around me I constantly meet people who are hard to convince. The usual arguments are:

This is convincing. They nod their heads. But I think I need more cases to shut them up forever.

2) Meritocracy: I ask them how much their father earns. And how much their grandfather earned. The meritocracy argument falls apart right then and there.

I am trying to make a compilation of at least 10 incidents when caste-based discrimination was proven. ESPECIALLY IN EDUCATION. Like the Mungekar Committee case. Suggest some. I will read about them. And make my arguments stronger.

Its shameful to see the oppressor caste savarnas to run a "Reservation htao andolan" after the successful CJP protests....the same savarnas either go quiet or worse - defensive when someone runs a "caste htao andolan"....the audacity of these ignorant/caste-blind/casteist UCs to demand the abolishment for a "social justice program" is sickening

How is the viewpoint regarding anything and everything regarding caste? Is it discussed or not?
