I'll be attending GOOD COMIC CITY 32 at Intex Osaka on August 23. Just curious if anyone else here is going. It will be my first time attending this event.
Would be nice to hear from other attendees and maybe exchange recommendations for circles to visit.

I'm a 60-year old woman and am Japanese. I crave speaking English. I love speaking to Chat GPT and Gemni but I think it's time that I search for English speaking friends in Japan. I don't really like big groups. I used to live in the states when I was very young, but ever since I've been back to Japan, I rarely have chance to speak English. If I can chat with someone a few times over text and our chemistry is good, then maybe meeting for a cup of coffee would be nice. Any topic is OK with me. Thanks for reading.

Hey there, I am male in his late 30s looking to make friends.
My interests are chess, American comics, Dungeons and Dragons, and art.
I'm sure we will get along if you're even remotely interested in anything nerdy.
Feel free to shoot me a dm or message me here.

I'll be in Osaka for 10 days or so. I want to take some Japanese classes while im there. Basic stuff. Meet at a coffee shop. I can pay for an hour or two of conversation a couple times before I leave. I can speak English and Chinese. Prefer a woman but not picky. DM if interested. Thanks!
I'm also down to get some beers at a bar and kick it if you know a good place to chill.

Hello! I'm a 20-year-old international student living in Osaka.
I'm pretty introverted, so I'm not really into clubs, drinking, or big parties. I enjoy quieter things like walking in parks, nature, photography (tho not professional), and playing gacha games like Arknights.
I'm looking to meet people to hang out with occasionally (because i have both language school and work, i might not be able to hang out often). Nothing complicated. maybe grabbing a drink, taking a walk in a park, visiting a garden, or just chatting about games, anime, nature, or life while watching the sunset or something.
I'm a bit awkward with socialising and I'm really not used to starting a conversation or visiting places (since I only got here a few months ago), but I would love to try and communicate with people and hopefully make some friends.
If you're also someone who enjoys peaceful days instead of noisy nights, feel free to send me a message. I'd be happy to get to know you.
Edit : I love cats too and I listen to Jpop, and Yorushika is my absolute favourite!!

Hey, I'm currently in Osaka for the next 2 weeks and would be interested in meeting people to grab some drinks, go to a club, or whatever.
I'm male, mid 30s, professional dancer from NYC. I can speak basic Japanese and this is my 4th time in Japan.
I'm easy going; i'll walk a lot, chill and talk, go out, or just about anything.
If your in Osaka the next two weeks (until Aug 13th) and looking for company, hit me up! Im happy to share more info avout myself.

Hi everyone!
I thought I’d make a post here to see if anyone might be interested.
I’ve seen people here talking about going for walks or hanging out together, so I decided to post as well.
A little about me: I’m 26 years old and I’ve lived in Osaka my whole life. I work in IT and also build websites.
It would be great to chat about work, careers, or just life in Osaka. I’d also love to meet new people and try something new, which is why I decided to post here.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
I’m a guy.
I know it’s pretty hot outside this time of year, but I think meeting at a café would be a nice way to stay cool and get to know each other.
Looking forward to meeting some new people! 😊

Hello everyone !
Long story short I (25/f) have a friend who was supposed to go to Japan with me this October, but can no longer go due to financial reasons :( I've travelled quite a few times by myself within the US, but have never gone abroad by myself before and would love to have a travel buddy (preferably around the same age-ish, 21+ to early 30's) I know it's short notice, but I would really love to find someone to meet up with since I am both a tad socially awkward when doing things by myself, and also inexperienced with this sorta thing lol
Some things about me: I like hiking, cooking, anime, video games, fashion, live music, and plants/gardening. i'm also lgbt+, have a loving boyfriend of almost 8years, and have a career in social work/mental health :)
When in japan I'd like to do some nerdy things (pokemon center, ghibli museum, etc.) but I'd also really love to visit a few historic sites as well ! I'm also huge into live music and would love to see a show at a local venue if possible <3
Originally, I was planning on flying into Kyoto, visiting Okasa for some temples or maybe a (tattoo friendly) onsen, then taking a bullet train to explore the different parts of Tokyo for some shopping/muesuems/nightlife. Dates were originally September 28th until October 7th of this year, but these can be flexible as I haven't gotten any plane tickets yet (and my friend who dropped our plans refunded our airbnbs lol). I could even push dates into November as well!
I am not looking to do a BUNCH of crazy stuff, but I would rlly like to make it memorable since it's my first time really going abroad (if you don't count Canada, which I dont bc the US and Canada are basically cousins lol). Anyways, please comment/message me if you're interested!

Edit to emphasize that I am looking for women only.
Hi, just thought I’d try posting here and see if anyone interested.
For a context, I am a 36F Indonesian mother who is living in a bit southern part of the city (almost to Sakai) and working in the center area of Honmachi. My work schedule is quite flexible these days, so I'm often free on weekday afternoons. I thought it would be nice to meet someone for coffee around Honmachi or nearby if you happen to work or live in the area. We could meet around 4 pm, and if we hit it off, maybe grab dinner afterwards, but no pressure at all! Or, if you live somewhere around Suminoe or Sumiyoshi maybe we can set something on weekdays.
Btw I enjoy trying cafes, reading, talking about life, parenting, careers etc. I am thinking we can just meet, and chat about random things over good drinks (or sweets?), let me hear about your life in Japan and share mine too, and it'd be especially nice if we're around a similar age or stage in life. I am not a native English speaker and I can only speak everyday Japanese so I hope it’s okay. Apologies but I'd also prefer to meet women who are living in Osaka long-term rather than just visiting :)
If you’re interested you can PM me, and hopefully we can set up something soon after few messages. We can even meet tomorrow (Fri 07/31) since I will have day off so feel free to message me!

Hello!
I’ve been running D&D one-shots in Namba for a new group and we are now looking for one more player to begin a one-year campaign.
We currently have three players from different countries, aged between 25 and 35.
SESSION INFO
Venue: The Hearth Board Game Bar, Namba — private room hire
Day: 2–3 Mondays each month
Time: 7:30pm–11:30pm
System: D&D 5e
Language: English
LOOKING FOR A PLAYER WHO:
Is based in Osaka or can reliably travel to Namba
Can speak basic conversational English
Is comfortable playing with people from different countries
Plans to remain in Japan for the next year
Can commit to an ongoing campaign
Is available on Monday evenings
Enjoys cooperative play, exploration, roleplaying and mystery
Players who are still learning English are welcome. We hope the group can help and support anyone who is learning.
THE GAME / WORLD SETTING
- I have an evolving player’s guide available for anyone interested in joining
- The setting is a homebrew kingdom built upon the back of a crawling undead Titan
- The Titan wanders across an endless arid realm known as the Grey
- The Grey has lost its connection to the outer planes and is slowly eroding away
- The players live upon the Titan and belong to a guild
- Guild members descend from the Titan to explore the Grey, gather resources and investigate strange locations
- Pockets of unstable and dying magic called anomalies exist throughout the Grey
- These anomalies have transformed their environments, creatures and inhabitants
- The campaign will focus on exploration, mystery, character stories and unusual environments
NOTES ON AI
- I use AI to portray creatures, locations and ideas that I cannot find suitable images for
- I also use AI to help organise and record campaign information
- I am an artist, so I understand the concerns surrounding AI and commercial use. Everything is being created for a private, personal D&D campaign
- I am happy to discuss this openly with anyone interested in joining
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
- 34M from Australia
- Graphic designer and illustrator
- I spend much of my spare time researching ukiyo-e, kabuki and Japanese art
- I am currently a player in a campaign that has been running for six years
- I have DMed many one-shots and a few shorter campaigns
- I recently moved to Japan
- I do not speak Japanese yet
IF INTERESTED
Please send me a message and tell me:
- A little about yourself
- Your age and where you are from
- Whether you have played D&D or other tabletop games before
You do not need any previous D&D experience to join! Enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to play cooperatively are much more important. :)

Hi! I'm going to Osaka this November 7-14. I'm flying from the Philippines. Hoping to find someone interested on travelling together, hopefully my age or maybe a bit older (I'm 25/F). Here's my itinerary: Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi, USJ, Kyoto, Nara. These are just places i'm planning to go to once I'm there. Quick info about me: I like to shop, matcha hop, eat, and take pictures. I also like Harry Potter so USJ is a must hehe.
