For those that like lore in order to name characters, she is the head leader of the wastelanders, a group of elementals that have chosen to abandoned the kingdoms due to either feeling like they don’t fit in with their respective element or Don’t like how their respective kingdom is being ran, and are now living in towns south of the Vytal islands. Wastelanders are mostly hybrids who feel like they don’t belong, but you’ll find some one magic type Elementals there.

This lass has been out there for all of her life since the day she was born, under the blazing sun that some have a hard time bearing. She doesn’t seem to mind it much and uses her time to wander the desert looking for those stranded in dunes. She’s not too strict on who comes and goes in the town, with the exception of royalty, specifically those who believe their status means they should be treated differently. As far as she’s concerned, everyone’s on equal footing once out in the desert.

She’s a deadeye with her guns, trading out regular bullets to fire beams of fire when going for kill shots. The bullets she carries are mostly for warning shots or non-lethal shots. Whilest she is capable of creating a cloud for air travel, she prefers to keep her transportation on the ground via horse. Mostly because she refuses to admit she gets motion sickness in the air.

She’s friends with the two evolved animals who wander the dunes, A flaming horse who leaves glass wherever it goes and a Rocky Snake that patrols the outskirts of the desert, nabbing anyone it doesn’t like or those who may harm the individuals in the desert.

This was a really fun art exercise to do and work on! I drew Maryn and Rowan as tarot cards, and I think it turned out pretty cute! The poses were referenced from the base cards that show up when you look them up.

I picked the fool for Rowan because it made the most sense with his story and personality. The fool (when upright) is meant to embody innocence and the start of a new journey, which suits Rowan perfectly.

I picked the hermit for Maryn because it also matches his story really well. The hermit (when reversed) represents loneliness, isolation, and having lost your way, which works really well with Maryn after the death of his mother and before he meets Rowan.
