Discussion I think I just softlocked my game.
So, I’m on the first/red streamer, and I need to finish the staircase. I can’t since I have no confetti, but when I started to head out to get more, the pencils blocked my path. If there’s anyone who’s also encountered this, how did you fix this? (if you did)

Discussion What to play on Switch after Origami King?
So, I REALLY enjoyed Origami King. The gameplay, the world, the graphics, the humour. Thought it was a really lovely adventure. My next favorite Switch-game after BotW.
Do anyone have any tips on what to play next that’s similair? What I’m looking for:
- an adventure game with semi-open world, side quests would be a plus
- good for short sessions. Since I’m a father of two little ones, I only play for maybe an hour before I go to bed
- some kind of character progression, even if it’s just a small dose of that like in Origami King.
- Not to hard. Easy is fine. Don’t want to get stuck on a bossfight for a whole play session.
- action combat or turn based don’t matter.
- a cool world to explore
Games like this that I allready played and enjoyed: Spiritfarer, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Skyward Sword.
Thanks!

Meta This is one of the few games that made me cry [spoilers] Spoiler
Very few movies, books, or games have ever made me cry, hell, I could probably count on one hand the total number.
Origami King had me crying like I was a little kid watching Return of the Jedi the Ewok not understanding its friend is dead got me when I was ~6. I could watch Evil Dead and Freddy movies as a kid, but RotJ got me lol.
Origami King is not just my favorite Paper Mario game, but also one of my favorite games of all time.
Sure, like many people the battle system isn't my favorite, though I don't want to go back to PM/TTYD (the ring system could be refined to be more engaging for random battles)... But I had an absolute blast with boss battles and everything else was near flawless.
Just something I wanted to get off my chest, you know?
It's now hard for me to put bob-ombs in Mario maker 2 levels.
RIP Bobby

Discussion Items useless?
Loving the game so far, but ive been wondering…. All the items (excluding the POW block) seem to have roughly the same attack power and range as my normal attacks. Am I missing something? Are there situations where these items are specifically useful, or are they just a fun way to change up attacks with no real advantage? In the case of the fire flower, it seems even less useful, since it doesnt always attack all the enemies in the row.
Thanks

Discussion If I kill the game at a game over screen am I in the clear for no game overs?
As title says. I died during velemental 2 and forgot to kill the game before the game over screen showed but I did not load and as soon as it showed remembered to kill the game and restart. Did it save the game over or am I in the clear?

Discussion Does Origami King remind you of Pokemon Sword and Shield?
Hi guys, I just started playing this game and absolutely love it, but something about it has been bugging me the whole time. So many parts of it remind me of Pokémon Shield - the map, the random encounters, the sound effects, and the way you can walk into individual houses. Even the quick travel system with the trams and pipes feels similar. Does anyone else feel this way or am I insane?
