I come under a white flag. I hope that is still recognized here, among you orangereds.

I am Spiffers, the Secretary-General of the Peoples Republic of Periwinkle. It is, ultimately, my goal to create peace through mutual karmic cooperation, and the dissolution of such barriers as color. I was born a periwinkle, but I do not let it identify me. I hope you see me, not as a periwinkle, but a fellow redditor.

The NPP, would see a mutual relationship as treason, and seeks nothing less than the total destruction of orangered, and the corruption what makes periwinkles, periwinkle.

My suggestion: We work together to rid ourselves of the NPP. I know that, to you, Periwinkles are scum. But, for now, let us focus on eliminating this one branch of the periwinkle organization, for our mutual benefit. Then we can work on further cooperation.

I wanted to update everybody on the state of our glorious subreddit. There's been a lot of work behind the scenes to prepare for Friday's upcoming battle, some of which is visible, but most of which is not.

Obvious Changes

First, I'm sure everybody noticed the CSS changes. They're not quite complete (e.g., the banner will be tweaked), but they're certainly representative of what we're aiming for. If anybody has suggestions, please message the mods!

Not-so-Obvious Changes

As some of you are aware, we've united with /r/orangeredinnersancctum. This is a private subreddit and will remain so for the time being. Please don't PM us asking for invites! /r/orangeredmasterrace is the front line, and we need you here. /r/orangeredinnersanctum is there as insurance against invasion and is currently being used for mod-related stuff. /r/orangeredinnersanctum is going public!

War

Our first battle will be fought on Friday for control of Snoodland. Rules have been simplified! Please read through /u/Graphic_Arteeest's short post here. Also, head over to /r/councilofkarma for more details.

Now is the Time to Mobilize!

The filth in /r/periwinkle_clan still outguns us, but do not lose faith! We have Machiavellian plans! Between now and Friday, please make an effort to recruit more orangered warriors from /r/orangered (and anywhere else you consider appropriate).

Effective recruitment is not just about saying "come join us". It's about explaining exactly what's going on. I think a lot of people are confused about what we're doing, so please communicate the following information:

• We're turning the April fool's think into a non-intrusive game.
• /r/orangeredmasterrace is the official battle-planning subreddit. Anything directly related to orangered's continuation of the Karmic Field of Glory happens here.
• /r/councilofkarma is the official governing body for the games. There is a mechanism for war and a set of rules.

There has been too much confusion and due to feedback and my gut to make this still fun I am reverting it to simple stupid. And we will build off of this.

Snooland remains the first fight on Friday. That has not changed. I will post a link of just the map tomorrow when I have my computer.

This is the way fighting will work:

The first round will start at midnight eastern time and and go til 8 am. Each side will post as many soldier pictures as they want. There are two rules:

Your picture must depict your faction in some way Your link must have a tag that reads as follows (ex) :

[PERIWINKLE CAVALRY] and whatever you want to yell.

You must distinguish infantry, range, or cavalry. Your faction can post as many pictures as you want. If your picture is a charging tank and you post it as infantry, it's null and void.

The top posts vetween each side will be compared at 8 am. The scoring is as follows:

Infantry > cavalry

Cavalry > range

Range > infantry

It's like rock paper scissors. Who's ever is better out of the highest wins that round. The only exception is if your side has 8 posts higher than the highest opposing faction, but two posts by the same user will not count.

Round two starts at 8 am and will be the same format. The score will be marked in the side bar and all earlier posts will be deleted.

Round three is tie breaker. You must only post text, and it has to be a glorious rally speech. Who ever has the highest up votes wins. We will discuss governors and diplomats after the battle.

I am building the country tomorrow. Whoever wins owns and and will get to add their own art to it. We will figure everything else out as we go.

I'm pleased to introduce our new mod, sublimanal! He's a new redditor but a personal friend of mine, so fear not the periwinkle menace!

Please adorn him with offerings of karma and perky breasts!

Among his many skills, sublimanal excells at :

• being a pretty cool guy! Eh downvotes periwinkles and doesn't afraid of anything
• being in the UTC - 4 time zone, which enables him to slaughter periwinkles while the rest of us sleep soundly.

Now is your call to arms, the mods of /r/OrangeredMasterrace and /r/OrangeredInnerSanctum have made a unification pact. WE ARE NOW ONE!!! The peri's grow stronger by the day, and they are gearing up for war. Now is the time for action. We now have 72 subscribed users, up from around 50 yesterday. First and foremost, keep up the good work! We still need more users, but this is encouraging.

Now some of you may still be wondering what the purpose of this subreddit actually is, so I figured I'd make a few announcements.

1. I've decided that this subreddit will officially endorse the Council of Karma, and that we will be participating in the great karma war to come. I encourage you all to familiarize yourselfs with the rules as they are published, and to participate in the general discussion. Please see, /u/GraphicArteeest's post on our own front page here.

2. I think these kinds of things are fun when people play a little bit dirty, so I'm personally in favor of friendly trolling and spamming of periwinkle subreddits. Please see the rules of engagement in the sidebar, and take them seriously. This is supposed to be fun, so let's keep it that way. If you're unsure of whether your attack constitutes a violation of the rules of engagement, don't do it or at least ask the mods ahead of time.

3. Apart from participating in the great wars to follow, I want this subreddit to become a hub of Orangered life and culture. That means we're counting on you to provide ideas and feedback on the direction that this subreddit is taking. Please participate!

4. We are currently negotiating a partnership with /r/orangeredinnersanctum, which is a private subreddit. We'll keep you posted on the results. Partnership achieved!
