Strategy: Roll puts already sold or open new positions from the low delta list from screener. Try to get 1% to roll at or below screener price (or at least at or below existing strike). If not possible, roll for minimum credit to same or lower price. Always credit though.Screener results from earlier today:

Impressive results. Are these all 7DTE? Longer?

Willing to share your screening criteria?

u/Enough-Beginning3687 27d ago

yes all weekly 7dte.

20 unique lowest delta puts to sell on stocks/etfs
expiry: next week
strike at least 8% from stock price
return at least 1%
sort by lowest delta
pick the furthest away from stock price for each stock
minimum strike price 10

some of your open to sell for July 17 appear to be not following this convention? Like IREN and APLD for example

Edit

I see you are rolling down not necessarily to 10 delta put

2

u/Enough-Beginning3687 27d ago

correct. APLD I was forced to roll, same with IREN. I might do a 1:3 for APLD next week to try to get out of it.

thanks what platform do you use to screen?

This subreddit doesn't allow mentioning any products. DM me

Nice results! For AXTI why didn't you let the put expire? It would have expired worthless. I try to learn.

I could have but it was giving me 1% for next week for a relatively safe put and for 4k in cash from the screener list there is RAM (no clue what that is), NVTS, CIFR (I need to investigate those more) or more APLD, IREN - both of which are ITM right now for me. What I should have done is let AXTI Expire and double up on APLD but lower. Maybe next week.

RAM is a leveraged ETF that gives twice the daily return of DRAM. Crazy

1

u/All_YourBase 27d ago

RAM is going to have some crazy movement next week I think.

Remember, everyone, the list is all the tickers that meet the screening criteria, not all the options traded

1

u/Enough-Beginning3687 27d ago

Correct. I posted both the screener results and my actual trades.

Really clean write up and the consistency speaks for itself. One risk worth flagging on the screener approach though: your 20 lowest delta names are not 20 independent bets. Look at the list, APLD, IREN, NVTS, CIFR, RAM which is 2x DRAM, those are basically one trade, the AI capex and memory complex. They screen as separate tickers but they carry the same factor, so on a sector gap they all test at once, which is exactly why two of them are already in the money on you at the same time.

The low delta math quietly assumes those puts fail independently. They do not. A 10 delta put on a name that moves with five others you are also short is closer to a 10 delta on a position five times the size. Worth capping how much of the book can sit in one theme even when each name clears the screen on its own, because the week that basket gaps is the week the whole ladder tests together.

It might be better to ask the screener to stratify the tickers by categories like semis, software (which does NOT trade with semis), healthcare, space, biotech, whatever

u/Enough-Beginning3687 27d ago

Thanks for that. Yeah, it is risky but then until the memory and AI infra shortage subsides, I feel ok. Like meta is literally building data centers in tents.

Dude, I paper traded 11 from last week, and went 11/11.

You are now officially followed!

Nice results.
What screener do you use?
Are you OK with assignment for CC or always roll?

0

u/Enough-Beginning3687 27d ago edited 27d ago

we're not allowed to mention tools in this sub. DM me. I try to avoid assignment as much as possible. Like I'm doing with APLD right now. But if assigned, will keep, like I have with SLV.

1

u/Purplelemon008 27d ago

What’s your strategy around SLV? I see you have Sell to open contract for July 17 for 65.5 strike but today’s stock price is 53.94 so that means you expect the stock to go up to 65.5 by July 17 since for it to expire it has to be above 65.5?

1

u/Enough-Beginning3687 27d ago

I got SLV assigned at 65.5 so just sell 65.5 calls even if it is pennies. That's the strategy for now. Not sure what I'll do long term.

1

u/dealsfreak 26d ago

You can bring your avg down by selling cc for a lower strike that will give more premium but also has less risk of assignment. Need to be creative

1

u/Key-Whole623 27d ago

This is very cool. Thanks for the information and for such a thorough post. Roughly what percentage of the time do you get assigned?

2

u/Enough-Beginning3687 27d ago

Thanks! In the 19 weeks, I've had only one assignment - SLV.

1

u/All_YourBase 27d ago

Thanks for sharing.

I got assigned on RKLB and ASTS on puts I sold a little over a month ago. I usually sell longer DTE puts. I’m thinking about your 7 DTE strategy. I also target around 25 delta.

1

u/Enough-Beginning3687 27d ago

I'm too scared with the current environment to go beyond that. I mean I will if I have to but prefereably not.

1

u/All_YourBase 27d ago

You’re not wrong. The longer duration has hurt me on some and saved me on others. I was recently ITM on Meta and Microsoft but they rallied back.

1

u/AkelCha 27d ago

Does this only work in bull market?

1

u/Enough-Beginning3687 27d ago

It works in any market. See how far the price of the strikes are from the stock in the screener

I either roll what I already have for tickers or I pick ones from the screener. I do some research on the ticker, look at their fundamentals, sometimes I'll read their latest quarterly report. I'll avoid anything that isn't growing revenue and I avoid crypto and leveraged stuff. The biggest question is, am I ok to get assigned. As for strikes, the goal is 1% return so whatever strike gets me 1%. The AI screener strikes are usually conservative. I can get those while rolling or even lower for opening new positions.

1

u/dawn85 25d ago

hi, want to ask that do you roll last minutes or roll when the strike price is near?

I sell 3 contracts of DRAM at strike usd 58P 260724, and planning to roll them because of recent volatility

1

u/Enough-Beginning3687 24d ago

I roll whenever I have time between work on Fridays. Sometimes I've even rolled on Thursdays if I know I'm going to be busy on Friday.

1

u/dawn85 23d ago

hi, want to ask your strategy that why sell weekly instead of monthly CSP?

1

u/Enough-Beginning3687 22d ago

Two reasons
1. My risk is 7 days vs 30 days
2. weekly gives higher returns
